Ive been kicking around the idea of going after a 7agte build. Using compression ratio calculator i wanted to find and stay at a low compression hence going turbo. I found with the stock 7afe's -12cc dished pistons and a 4afe 1.4 mm compressed head gasket my cr would be at 8.55:1 I plan on using stock 7afe pistons with forged 7afe rods, big port head with custom grind cams. i have read that the 7as weak point is the rods but will the pistons stand the abuse of boost even with the low compression ratio? or do i need to try and find forged 4agze pistons? will there need to be mods to the 4agze pistons to fit on 7afe rods? i havent found many 4agze pistons online so im just getting a build thread going to finalize my plans on which piston combo i need to go with. |

looks like i will find an answer for sure, put on ss lines and redid rear brakes tonight, front bleeder screw snapped off in both front calipers, tried extracting them and they were in there so good it snapped my screw extractor too, thats what 224k and 21 years will do to them. i called the local salvage yard toay that i went to pick up the 4runner caliper, they had the incorrect caliper, called another one which had the correct one, they pull there own parts off so they will have that ready for me saturday, i will get pics as soon as i get parts home. |

So i have read many threads about gt-4 caliper upgrades but i dont have the money to spend on a pair of gt-4 calipers. I read a few articles on a completed 4runner 4 piston caliper on a gt, his setup included shaving off the inside of the caliper to accept the thicker gt (smaller) gt disc. I wanted to find a solution that was a little more simple and find rotors that will fit without redrilling. i got on the wheel fitment database and found all the cars that have 5x100 bolt patterns, after doing alot of looking i found the rotors i was looking for. After reading the information from the gt-4 upgrade, and how the mounting points on our knuckles limit the rotor dia to 300mm i wanted to get as close an i could to 300mm, noting that the 4 runner calipers are alomst identical to gt-4s, except for the fact that they require a smaller thickness disc of 22mm compared to the 32mm disc on the gt-4. So i came up with this The S13WM Calipers mate with the 22mm nom thickness 4runner rotors, and a 17mm thickness pad after 11/95. To make up the 2mm greater thickness rotor on the subaru i looked at pad options for the 4runner calipers. I found that the 8/95 to 10/95 pads for the s13wm rotors were 2 mm thinner and 3 mm wider than the after 11/95 pads, which makes up the difference in the subaru rotor and adapts to the 294.5 mm dia rotor so more pad surface! The only modifications i will be looking at if everything goes like planned will to be tap the st knuckle, grind off 2 mm-4mm from the caliper mounting points (depending on whether 2mm will clear the ball joint or not, if it does not i will have to grind off 2 more mm (total of 4) and put a 2mm spacer behind the rotor) to clear it. I will start this project soon, just thought i would share my food for thought, and suggestions, info are greatly appreciated! |

yeah i realized that, other than that it looks like the shift linkage and mounts are the same, does anyone know how readily available they are in the states, and what would my options be for flywheel clutch combo? does the trans from a silvertop 4age have a lsd> the bellhousing off the levins have the double hump for the starter |

So i have not found any info regarding trans swap options for 6 gen celicas, does anyone know if the LSD 5 speed trans from the 7th gen celica will swap into a 6th gen? what trans came with the 5 speed levin silvertop 4age? I hear it was the c56 but does anyone know if they were lsd? the bellhousing on the 4age silvertop trans has the double humps, versus the single front hump on the 7th gen celicas |

Yes that is correct, the gts have a round diag port where my st is rectangular ans in the engine bay by the strut tower. I make the cables to order, and can included the rs232 to usb cable for a little extra. You can build them your self with the pins but I'd rather have a quality built cable that the pins won't fall out and is organized. I want to get a group buy going. If I can get some people on board I can build the cables for 40 and the software is free so it a good and inexpensive way to catalog your car and monitor perameters. If any one would like to see videos of the program running I can do that also I will also post pics of my compelted cable when I get home |

So i have had my 94 ST for almost a year and have completed gathering parts my my n/a to turbo build, along with this I wanted to find a way to datalog without spending a lot of money. I have had success with mmcd on my obd1 Stealth with a palm pilot, and then used LS1m software and custom built cable to datalog my 97 gtp. I was curious to find a solution to my logging needs for my celica. I started digging around and finally found a russian software that obd1 1Jz supra guys and lexus members were using. I sat on this site for a while relizing it was for 1jz Supras, but curious i translated the russian website and downloaded it anyway. In the program there is an engine option and of course there is an option for 7afe and 5sfe! If anyone is interested in aquiring a cable let me know, i will upload screen shots of the software and cable! This was picture i took of my uncompleted cable, the completed cable has a sealed connector for the firewall, i build them with the obd1 toyota 22 pin connector so you plug and go! You will need to buy a rs232 to usb converter to make it work with your laptop unless you have a serial port. Also have the female shell for the serial port. |

I have been looking and looking and it looks like i have only three options,' 1. Buy a 80 dollar 7afe flange and a b series turbo manifold and pay to have the flange cut off and rewelded ~ $250 2. Buy JGS tools log manifold kit and have it welded ~$250 3. Buy top speed performance 4afe turo manifold and have my teo4h flange welded on ~200 IS there ANY cheaper options to mock up a manifold or buy one for my 7afe? I sm just waiting on the manifold now... or does someone have one that they can sell me used??? Any help is appreciated!' Thanks in advance! |

So with autox season coming up im in need for a datalogger for a 94 obd1 st. I have used MMCD software and custom built cable on a palm m515 on my old 92 stealth, i also used the same m515 palm with a custom built ls1m cable for my supercharged grand prix for aiding in tuning, so after doing some searching and not turning up many results im posting this up. Is there any custom built cables or datalogging options to use for a 94 obd1 st? Ive read on mro2c theres a russian built cable thats suppose to work with some russian software but theres not alot of info on it? Anyone have options or know of some? |

For the 1mz ers. Was searching and found a $100 1mz out of a 97 Avalon. Complete harness and all sensors. Ran when pulled. It's located in Bellevue nebrska! If you want to rebuild could be a cheap start. Has a bad wrist pin. Here the link http://omaha.en.craigslist.org/pts/4289484742.html |
