shid your so hot thanks for backing me up with the dual exhuast topic. and if that is your girls picture shes hot no doubt abut it extra points if she owns the celica.
Listen to Mr E.

This is a double post:

Any dual exhaust will have twice the noise as a single. Quad exhaust, twice that noise. You are literally doubling the amount of exit points for the noise each time.

While a noise increase is certainly the result of removing the cat, etc, thats not the primary reason for the noise.

Also, because of the imperfect nature of the world, it is impossible to actually get the same performance out of a dual pipe that you would out of a single- no matter how equal it looks on paper.

This issue has been debated until the rocks have turned into sand. The only time dual exhaust is not detrimental is when you're using each pipe for different cylinders, like the dual exhaust for some cars from the factory, or a Mugen exhaust (I forget which car it was for), or when your engine is full of so much hot as to make Playr look mild by comparison.

Coming from a single pipe and then splitting will always result in performance losses over a big pipe. Of course, what pipe size is right for you? I'm not getting into gas scavenging in this post.

Well it's something to that affect i was just asking for myself. but the guy said it cost to much to build with low interest in anyone who actually wants it so yes Ray wants us to purchase in bulk so no one backs out ask him yourself .Ray said that the only ones that actually have it are two 97 toyota camary owners in illinois 2 solaras and 1 dude actually bought 1 for his celica and he was also being sponsered be ripp modifications but never put it on his 6 gen confused.gif mad.gif what the hell he couldve innovated a whole new way for us to look at our celicas.the idiot disappears off the face of the earth and then sells it to some guy on e-bay who used it on one of the camary's i mentioned.by the way all the owners who have a supercharger are doing shows and are very satisfied with the results.which comes to mind that the whole body on the camry and solars is much heavier then that of our celicas so the possibilties are emaculate. And the only down fall is that theres not enogh magazine coverage for any one to care. mad.gif

hey guys i got an invader front bumper that doesnt fit...the bodyshop guy said that with alot of fiberglass work you could get it to fit so im going to post it on here...i was thinkin about $100 and you pay for shipping cause its so big...but if ne one is interested let me know

Also...its still in some green primer....and the only time it was out of the box was when it was at the shop...mostly all the smoothing work has been done and it needs to be painted....but like i said it needs work

I went out to the shop when they were trying to put the bumper on and it looks like it needs to be extended to fit but im not an expert
THANKS THATS ALL I NEEDED TO HEAR biggrin.gif
ok, somebody correct me if Im wrong but, why is everyone saying your gonna have a louder exhaust with dual mufflers.......isnt that the point of a muffler, to quiet down the exhaust. then if you have two that should quiet it down a little more.

p.s. do what you want its your car, if you like the duals i say keep em, playr has a pretty cool setup, but as for its being, no its not doing anything for your car, just strictly for looks smile.gif

TO ALL 6 GEN GT OWNERS AUTO OR MANUAL

biggrin.gif I SPOKE WITH ONE OF THE ENGINEERS AT RIPP MODIFICATIONS HIS NAME WAS RAY. YES IT'S TRUE ABOUT THE SUPERCHARGER BEING DISCONTINUED,BUT ONLY TO A CERTAIN EXTENT. THEY ARE WILLING TO BRING THE PROGRAM BACK TO LIFE IF WE CAN COME TOGETHER AS A GROUP OF 5 ENTHUSIASTS THAT ARE ONLY WILLING TO GAIN POWER THROUGH THE SUPERCHARGER.HE ALSO SAID YOU MUST BE PRICE COMMITTED, KNOWING THAT IN ORDER TO ACHEIVE THIS GOAL IT WOULD COST NEARLY 4,500.00 US AMERICAN DOLLARS ON EACH OF OUR PART. AND OF THAT 4,500.00 G'S YOU WOULD HAVE TO PUT A 1,000 DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT.SO THIS IS WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT AS A GROUP- 5 INDIVIDUALS WILLING TO SPEND THAT AMOUNT, EACH PERSON PUTTING A 1,000 DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT AND THEN FOLLOWING THROUGH.5 PEOPLE EQUAL 22,500 DOLLARS 5 PEOPLE TO PLACE A 5,000 DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT. BEING THE FIRST GROUP TO HAVE A SUPECHARGED WRECKING CREW PRICELESS.NOW IM NOT SAYING THIS IDEA IS THE BEST OR MOST COST EFFECTIVE WAY- WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT THIS IS THE ROAD LESS TAKEN TO OZ.WE DO KNOW OF THE ENGINE SWAP AND TURBO, ALL IM SAYING IS THAT A SUPERCHARGER STILL EXISTS AS A LIVING AND BREATHING DREAM. IT'S BEEN SLEEPING FOR 2 YEARS FROM BEING DISCONTINUED, ONLY TIME WILL TELL WHEN IT WAKES UP AGAIN. tongue.gif

Thanks for looking out player, out of all of the post you were the only one with an answer worth reading you answered the question to a person who was looking for a look then performance.I do have a perfect Y with the same length and all I knew I was'nt alone on this one.
QUOTE(playr158 @ Oct 14, 2005 - 11:10 PM)
ok well let just state the facts here:
no celica is EVER a dual exhaust.....my car, kidett, and the other guys none of us....
its a single pipe with a Y for 2 tips.....you can get the same gains as a single exhaust or you can get less...its all in how you design it...
pipe size, the transition from single to dual pipe it all depends on design...when i did mine i made sure that i was split pretty well, idealy you want to keep a pretty tight "V" shape to get the gases to flow smooth still, and keep your pipes equal lengths....
and the noise isn't because of two mufflers or 1 muffler they can be JUST AS LOUD....the noise comes from removing a cat, removing a resonator or whatever a properly designed and thought out system and be quiet and functional....

but REALLY it just for looks and personally i like to keep it symetrical and one on each side smile.gif

more of a louder bark with out the bite if you know what I mean

I have no clue what this means. Are you really saying you want it to be louder without more power? I really hope that's not right. Singals are the best way to go in my book. You can control back pressure and exhaust flow easier, save wieght, and it's cheaper due to less pipe and one less muffler. Besides that, it's not a V6 or V8. I don't think I'd ever run duals on any inline engine, it just feels really wrong.

rolleyes.gif Hey guys, Hope you all dont get to heated for this quetion, but I had a dual exhuast with no name muffler and tip installed into my 97 gt celica conv. My only question is, what is it actually doing for my car, is it gonna pose as a future problem. For my intentions were only to give my car more of a louder bark with out the bite if you know what I mean.Ill apply pictures to show you what I have done and how it looks. Oh another thing my car is an automatic if that helps you figure out what problems might occur in the future p.s it sounds really good to with a deep resonating hum to it. confused.gif
Hey Frosty, thanks for the info, I am looking for 250hp plus gains would you know how much of an estimate that would come out too.You see I live in Houston, Texas and though a big state not enough performance shops willing to do the work ver irratating.
It depends on the hp route you want to go with on your car. mad.gif

If you want 190-200ish hp then you can go with just turbocharging your 5s-fe.

If you want 250 stock or more then go with the 3s-gte swap.

(and if you want the 190-200ish without the turbo but still want to say you have a swapped motor, go with the beams motor and be the envy of many on here biggrin.gif )

STOCK DOORSILLS- Very used, begging to be painted. Packed and ready to ship. $15 shipped OBO

STOCK FRONT SEATS (FABRIC)- I was going to have these seats re-upholstered, but ended up buying new seats instead. The seats function perfectly mecanically (they recline and slide like new). The only thing is that the middle part of the fabric has been removed, as can be seen in the pics (I was going to re-upholster the middle part only). The cushioning remains intact though. Also, one of the slide bars is ever-so-slightly bent, but you may not even notice it (check the pic). If you're in the market for seats, buying mine and getting them re-upholstered would be much cheaper than buying brand new ones. BTW, they come with the stock leather headrests. PM me with an offer!!!

OK welcome,
There was a RIPP MODS supercharger, although grapevine rumor is that it's discontinued, talk to Jen about this. This 3sgte engine swap is very well known here and if you contact Lagos, DG_performance, RJB23, Dr. Tweak, among others they will help you. If you want to go the turbo route talk to Manyy aka Pressure2, all of these guys combined have a plethra of knowedge.

smile.gif hey guys i have just joined the forum today and have been an advate fan of the 6 gen celica. I own a blk convertible celica year 97 gt model. My question is looking at the parts database on the 6gc.net they offer numorous items (1) is a burien turno (2) is a ripp supercharger and (3) now i find out you can do an engine swap to 3sgt if im correct. Either ways its gonna cost an arm and a leg which option should I pick to strech my hard earned money since alot us of 6gen owners arent doing it through a promtion nor being offered sponseredship.
