My 94 ST driver seat back broke last week. The metal flange with 2 bolts that holds seat back to seat cushion and frame cracked in pieces. Searched online inventory of "pull your own " yard with 2 locations near me. They had gotten a 94 in the previous week, but I was thinking that a front seat would probably have gone fast.
Still, i planned to check it out the next day.
Next day, I again checked their inventory on their website. They just added a 96! So, I went and pulled both seats, $20 each with tracks. Lucky! Upholstery is slightly different than what I had, but still looks good.

Hectortherican - keep us updated, please! I am about to attempt to change my fuel filter (probably original from 94), so I'd like to hear how it goes. Thanks!

Great info...thank you. I'm a guy that's come to be interested in the mechanics of cars rather late in life, so I find this forum most helpful.

Thanks for the replies...good to know. I was driving my wife's Corolla (1998, automatic 4 speed) and noted that I was at 2300 rpm at 65 mph. Different cars, for sure. The Corolla has 120hp, compared to the 1.8l in my Celica (110 hp).

Just wanting to compare...my 1994 ST manual transmission runs 3000 RPM at 65 mph. I've got the 1.8l 7AFE engine. Curious to hear what others' cars are like.

My 94 ST was a Craigslist find outside of Minneapolis, 7 years ago almost exactly. It had 234,000 "mostly highway miles". It had minimal rust and drove perfectly.
I paid $1500 for it, and it's still my daily driver with almost 302,000 on it. Amazing car.

It made it to 60 degrees today in Minneapolis...first time since early November! I washed and waxed my 94 ST, installed new plugs, PVC, cap and rotor plus
air filter.
Running and looking good at 302,000 miles...still my daily driver.

My 94 ST manual with 300,000 miles gets 30 mpg in the winter, with about 50/50 highway to city miles. Rest of the year I still get about 34 mpg. smile.gif
