Hmm. Is there anyway I can make it fit, maybe taking the part from my beams exhaust header that gets bolted on the cylinderhead and change it with the new one. What can I do? Thanks |

I heard something about it didn't fit, why not? Is the exhaust port on a beams bigger or different? Thanks |

Mine is doing the exact same thing after swap. What was your conclusion exact, course I'm about to buy a new MAF.?? |

The old engine used a distributor and the tach got the signal from that. The BEAMS uses COP's so it send a different signal to the tach. You either need to buy a BEAMS tach to swap into your cluster or buy a tach adapter to convert the signal. What I feared Where do I find such an adapter? |

Hey everyone. I have changed engine on my lovely Celica to Red top beams engine. And I have had a lot of issues with wiring the damm thing, but the engine runs now. I was interested in knowing how I get the revs to show in the dash, any special wiring? I have also had some problems with the engine running well, and have come to a conclusion that the MAF is not working, because when the plug is on it runs really bad and goes out if not giving it rapidly revs. When the plug is off it runs more smooth and it doesn't goes out, but it's still not running perfectly and the engine failure light is on. I wanted to make sure that I have connected it correctly. Can any of you confirm this wiring? I tried cleaning the MAF and it didn't help, not enough to feel any differens. Shouldn't I just order a new one tomorrow? |

Maybe a stupid question, but how do I insert a picture I have been in all the car shops on my way and no one had that cleaner, can I use something else instead? |

I'll get some pictures as soon as possible, I'll try a couple of shops on my way there. Thanks again |

We need a little more information from you. What intake are you using? Have you tried cleaning the MAF? Be sure to pull the codes to see what codes it's throwing. Then try resetting the ECU and plugging the MAF back in. Try keeping it running with the MAF plugged in until it's warmed up. Then try pulling codes again to see what you get. Volt between EVG - VG when with ignition on II = 0,99V Volt between EVG - VG when the engine is running = 0,99V-1,04V (Data 1.0V-1.5V) I'm using a custom made intake, but I'm using the old part of the airbox with the sensor. MAF=Airflow sensor? It's not easy to keep the engine running with the airflow sensor plugged, but I'll give it a shot tomorrow. How would you clean it? Thanks |

Hi everyone, I'm new here on forum. I have swapped out my old engine and I have put in a red top beams engine. I tried starting it today but it didn't fire, and I saw a topic about connecting the red/black wire with the black at the EA1 plug. It worked and it started and died 2 sekunds after. First of I thought it was vacuum problem coursing it to die out, because if I gave it some revs I could keep it alive. By some reason I tried disconnect the airflow sensor, and now it runs "perfect" (Engine failure light on). I'm I missing a wire to connect or something, or is it a new air flow sensor? It gets +B and earth, and I have tested the other 3 wires and it seems like they give some signal |
