hey all, just buying the electrical bits for my 5sfte at the moment and i've got a few questions. what does the aem uego do and why is it recommended, does it just make tuning easier? is this the one i need? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AEM-GAUGE-TYPE-6-in-1-AIR-FUEL-RATIO-UEGO-CONTROLER_W0QQitemZ140215840986QQihZ004QQcategoryZ6763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem which would be a better choice? the apexi SAFC or the greddy emanage? basic list is t3/t4 turbo, rx7 460cc squirters, 2 bar map sensor, 20x10x3 fmic and the bits to make them fit. i havent bought the turbo yet, but the one i've been eyeing of is a . 50 a/r compressor, .63 a/r turbine, .57 trim, is this too big for a 5sfe? im not after tyre shredding boost response, and i dont want it to run out of breath too early, so i thought this might suit being a little bigger my power goals arent spectacular, just whatever i can get out of it and still keep it reasonably efficient/safe to run, maybe 220ish whp. |

got a bit of a noob question here, what is the trim on turbos? cos i've found a few t3/t4's that im likin the look of, one says its .50 trim and the others .57. i'm after some good mid rpm range boost, not insane tyre frying kinda stuff. whats considered too big for say around 10psi on a 5sfte? |

QUOTE(gnetik @ Aug 4, 2006 - 6:17 PM) Wow nice. I'm just wondering though, would the rear brace get in the way the trunk lid( you know the thing that hangs on the hatch and covers the trunk area when you close the hatc)? it might come close, but it wouldn't hit it, i'm not 100% on that though, as you'll see when i post photos, i've stripped my interior, prepping for a roll cage |

i'd recommend an oil pressure and oil tempurature gauge for any car with mods done, just to be safe. boost is optional, as they come on avcr's and most electronic boost controllers these days, it's not 100% necessary. otherwise, i've got oil press, oil temp & air/fuel ratio.... hope that helps. max |

QUOTE(celiracer @ Aug 4, 2006 - 2:43 AM) Hey looks good. But that cusco front strut brace could you modify that so you could still have the stock 3 point? yeah. i've thought of that, good thing i'm a metal fabricator. i've just gotta trim a couple of bits on the stock one and make up a little spacer to basically make the two level with each other when they're mounted. when i get some spare time, i'll look at joining them together and powdercoating it a different colour.... |

if you say the whine stops when you run both power and ground from the engine bay, then do it that way, just wire it up so it turns on with your clock or whenever the ignition is on. if that's a bit tricky, you could even put it on a switch, but that means you gotta turn it on and off all the time... good luck, and as for the SAFC, i have no idea, my best shot would be under the head unit. |
