So I'm on the way to the next county to pay a speeding ticket i got last month. I'm on 1-75 cruisin about 80 when all of sudden...CLUNK CLACK CLACK CLUNK CLUNK..horrid noises from beneath the hood. No smoke..No overheating...Just violent noise and vibration. Long story short..I get up there pay the ticket and get my car towed back to the house.. Sounds like I've thrown a rod on the 7A-FE. Here's my dilemma...I was researching an engine swap for maybe..in a year when i had the funds..but now here i sit with a ****ed up engine. Financially..I could take out a loan for the swap...or pay some body to rebuild the motor. But why rebuild an engine that's fairly weak in the first place? Especially since it's got a fair amount of miles on it. I'm all for the swap..Just gotta convince the parents..But I'm 19,payed for the car and in my name..So I could really give a fluck what they think. Anyways just wanted you're alls input on the matter. And if this isn't enough I have a paper on Medieval Sexuality due tommorow if anybody has any thought on that.

Whats the benefit of having a cold air intake over my short ram? I used to have one but it was placed where road crap would hit it so i was constantly cleaning it. So thats why I've gone with my short ram. if there is an actual benefit I'll look into positioning it again in a different spot.

first for the hole i just made sure where i wanted to mount the bulb and start with a pilot hole then i just got the dremel tool and cut a square big enough for the bulb to fit. water shouldnt leak into the housing but idk for sure yet. i just got the hot glue gun to make a quick hold and to fill the gaps and then i went back over it with a much stronger adhesive.

Hi, I just joined up to the forums. Iv had my celica for a few months now and i love it .
Im hoping to do alot of work on it soon, but I need to get rid of this evil exhast rattle of doom first.
I should have some pictures up soon, but i gota wash it first.

Hello fellow 6gener's!

So its been months since i last posted anything. And its been a year since my car has been running.
My apologies cuz i've been lazy and i havent really put any thoughts on her. But today i decided to to see if i the wiring that Dr.Tweak made for me works.

Yesterday i plugged in all the wires i could and then to the battery. Nothing happened. I didnt have much light as the sun came down so i stopped for the day. Today i got back under the hood. Grounded the proper wires and placed in the battery. the "Brake" light goes on! YaY! first sign of life! After some testing i ran into some prolems.

1) the windshield wiper works only when i hold down the high beam.

i got back under the hood and found that some grounds were not secured down properly.
fixed that then got back in the car. almost all electricals work. Although the fans automatically turn on when i place the key in. but i was told that that isnt much of a problem.

So yes! im back on to finishing this damned swap.


if you dont already know. we are talking about a 4agze from a aw11(mr2 89) and puting it into a 94 celica st.

Its one of the most dificult swaps ever. Dont do it unless you have a lot of patience and have an experienced mecanic that can undo the mistakes. But theres a corolla tech thats going to be helping me, and he says it may be easier than people make it to be. so will see what happens in the next few months.
