You would have to modify the struts to fit a 20" wheel with 245/35 tires. Which this member obviously did. In my opinion 18" rims with 2" drop and a 225/40 tire look best on the celica. |

I have 2 1/2' straight pipe on the exhaust with a 2' cherry bomb where the resonator use to be. The exhaust comes out right infront of the passenger rear tire, straight pipe with a bolt on exhaust tip, and the car sounds awesome. It has a nice deep sound. I have to agree with Insanity-74, my friend just put a muffler like that on his integra... it sounds awful. |

That makes since to me, now that I think about it that is how my car performs when driving it cold. I am having a hard time finding the part number for this sensor. If anyone knows it please post. Do you think as I do that this is my problem? Thanks for the help. |

My friends brother replaced the timing belt (it was the complete kit) The timing mark is zeroed out and 10 degrees advanced. We took the valve cover off to check if the timing marks were alligned and they were. The car starts and is idling normal, but when I rev the car up in neutral it will not go past 5200 rpm and falls down once it hits that range no matter throttle position. When driving the car it accelerates slow and shifts way too soon. By 25mph the car shifts into 3rd gear. Normally at 25mph when I stomp the pedal the car jumps into the 5000rpm range in first gear. Instead it jumps to about 3200rpm then falls off. We figure it must be a sensor or wire, but we are not sure. If you guys have an idea of which sensor it is or what is going on please post. My friend found a broken sensor. |

Where are the numbers for the "7"? What does it run in the 1/4 mile? There is a 4th gen celica here in New Mexico that has 500+ hp on a 3sgte. I dont think it gets very good traction though. He had pics of it and dyno sheets on www.4gcelica.net. It's been a couple years since I have been to that site. |

I bought my first celica in 1999. It's a 87 gt coupe, with the 3sfe motor. Then I started to research the 3sgte motor and which cars could recieve the motor. I found out that my 87 could fit the motor but would need a good amount of modification. I started saving for everything I would need. Well at about 5k saved I blew the 3sfe. I was in need of a car bad so I went looking. The last car I looked at that day was a '95 Celica GT convertible. The two rear windows were messed up on it so I was not really into it that much. Until I started the engine and took it for a drive(i like that low end torque). So I bought it(5k 100kmiles), found out the 3sgte transplant would be much easier on it. |

I feel ya soulshadow. I know how it goes. My celica has been sitting for nearly a month now. The starter finally gave out and I already needed new tires and struts. Although it will be back up in a few days. I have to drive the tacoma around... I hate it, it's ride compaired to the celica is wierd. Anyway good luck with everything. |

I guess I am lucky here in New Mexico. We have no emissions tests, safety, etc. Good thing too, I am running open headers on my '87 celica. If they had something like that here, 3/4ths of the people would fail lol. Gratz Lagos, and keep on boosting |

I do not plan on going to the track more than a few hours a month. I do not really just want the "lowered look" I would like to have some what better handling over stock. My stock struts are nearly shot, I need to do something. It needs to be lowered with the new wheels, im not going to drive around looking all funny. Can you please recomend a good strut/coilover set up? I really want to go with the Torque 5 wheels, the only 17" I can find are 7" wide with a 40 offset. Are there any spacers that will push it out close to being flush with the wheel well? Sorry if I sound like a newb, but I want a nice "clean and sporty" stance on the car. Anyway, thanks for the help, and opinions. |

I am going to buy tein super street damping coilovers for my car soon. I need to know if I am going to need other supplies besides what comes with the kit. After the coilovers are installed, is there going to be any problems having the car aligned? I do not know much about suspension, so please bare with me. I will also be adding 17"x7" Falken Torque 5 rims, with a offset of 40... I want to get the rear tires almost even with the wheel wells. What size tires(falken tires) and spacers should I get to do this? Also, does anyone know where I can find Tein SS coilovers at a good price($1200 or less)? Any help or opinions would be great. This is my second post on this site, but ive been watching all you guys for over 6 months now. I think this is the best celica site out there, and i believe this is where all the tallent is. |

I thought I would just say that if you like underglow and want it, get it. I wouldnt get the neon bulbs though, go with a LED underbody kit. The neon bulbs have less life and will bust easy under cold conditions. I believe the LED's would emit higher lumens than a normal neon bulb. Anyway, thats just my two cents. |
