Mine is doing that wabbly thing and I would like to replace it. I don't want to get one of those universal things that I have to attach to the windshield. If anyone has a OEM one that I could swap out, that would be great. I would also be open to replacing it with one of the newer ones with bells and whistles if someone could direct me to a type that would install the same way the original sits. As always thanks to all for any assistance.

Your car is IMO one of the sexiest rides I have seen, here or otherwise! I have been watching this since you first put her up shortly after I joined last year. I actually tried calling my bank to see if they would let me refinance my car loan as a double or give me a second one for that matter. I have even tried to talk my future son in law into buying her....well buyin mine so I could buy her that is biggrin.gif . I could buy yours, if I put everything I am working toward doing with mine on hold, in like 6 months. Wish you had the time lol. And, not that my opinion matters, i agree wholeheartedly!!! Don't part her out unless you have NO other options. Good luck.

PLEASE SOMEONE BUY THIS..........and hold it for me for 6-8 months laugh.gif

Just for curiosity sake, is there a certain threshold we have to hit before becoming full fledged members?

You could also check out The Retrofit Source for your projectors. From everything I've read the are really good quality and support is supposed to be phenomenal.

I did a retrofit!
My thread for it is >HERE<

Used Morimoto mini's from The Retrofit Source
And plastic lenses similar to the ones you linked to on eBay (which will probably be your best bet)

I actually had checked out TRS before I found DDM on another thread. Smkr3w, your thread is actually the whole reason I started looking at doing my own customized set lol. I had read your progress threads several times through before I ever posted this one. My concern regarding TRS though is that they seem to be a bit pricier than DDM. granted I am very familiar with the concept of "getting what you pay for", but I also need to be practical about it. The only lenses I have been able to find are $120 shipped, a bit more than the $50 I believe you found them for. So putting out a bit more from that end I need to trim a bit elsewhere in the purchase to keep it a more practical option than buying a set of JDMs. All totaled I am looking at $275 (counting shipping for all components) to do the projectors through DDM, and that's not counting any extras like the LED or the Angel eyes. When I start going above $300 I start questioning whether it's better to just buy the JDMS. Any thoughts? Thank you all for the great input so far.

QUOTE (The_enD @ Mar 27, 2015 - 5:37 PM) *
Not that it really matters, but those ebay lenses are acrylic glass, not glass like the JDM projectors.

I know you express in your post that it doesn't really matter, but are there any differences at all between the 2 that I should be taking into consideration? On the sale listing they do state that the lenses have been UV coated and all, which if I remember correctly is an important piece when looking at installing the HIDs, right?

Hoping someone can help. I would like to create my own projector headlights, having seen a few threads here giving some nice instructions on how to do so. The hardest part I seem to be having is finding the lenses. I believe that I found some on Ebay, clear glass lenses. Are these the right way to go, or would anyone have any other suggestions?

For the Projectors, I am looking at one of the ones from DDM Tuning on this page...Projectors

They also have HID kits that I believe I saw recommended elsewhere in the forums...HID Kits

Any input or advice is definitely appreciated.

Also, does anyone have the "how-to" that was originaly tied to this thread by Rayme? HOW TO: Projector conversion

Why don't you buy just a cheap eBay short ram intake? Its like 25$ shipped. I just threw one away because I upgraded to injen Sri.

Thanks again for that advice. I ended up doing just that, and I should have it delivered to me early next week.

way too soon for me

Sorry to hear that. I would love the chance to see your car, beautiful piece of work. Are there any other regular meetups that happen in the DMV area?

Thought I would throw this out there since I saw some of you folks jump on it last year. (http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...amp;hl=virginia)
Anyone in the DMV area going to be heading to this event? I would love to connect with some other folks from here.
I work in Reston Virginia but live 2 hours away in Southern Maryland, and thereby have a pretty wide range of how far I would travel for a Celi Meet! biggrin.gif

The Sixth Annual Fredericksburg All-Toyota Spring Meet is scheduled for March 28th, 2015.
All Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles are welcome.

I don't have Facebook myself, but found a link for it: 6th Annual All Toyota Meet

edit for date correction: event moved to March 28th

Interested in a set front/rear/and padded armrest for a 99 GT Vert, with blue stitching. Assuming you are still selling of course.

Also wanted to ask about the floor mats. I saw them mentioned earlier in this thread but haven't seen any pics or pricing. Are floor mats something you do as well. If so could I get a pic and price info?

Thanks

I know they are hard to come by, but if anyone has a set available please let me know. They would be shipping to 20678.

Thanks all

Ok, so strike that. I just replied a little while ago, but since I am apparently still new, it won't show up for me to edit for a while. I believe I have in fact found the SRI that you were talking about. Just wondering if someone with more experience than myself can peek at it and confirm that this is the right one and if anyone has any thoughts on how well it works.

BCP Blue Short Ram Intake

Thanks all.

That would be perfect for what I am looking for right now. The only SRIs that I was able to find specific to the 6GC was the Injen or the DragonR and would run me around $200. I am still pretty new to the mechanical side of this, and don't know how to tell if one of the many others online will fit. Would anyone be able to provide a suggestion for specific SRI that we know fit and work well on our cars? I am prepared to spend the $200 if I need to, but I would rather put some of that toward some Projectors and the JDM tails.

Might as well buy it new from the dealer. A used won't last you very long. They tend to wear out quick.

True enough, and good point. If I stick with the OEM piece all I need is for it to last 6 months to a year, when I have the engine swap completed. Ideally I would like to find a Cold Air intake that would work for b oth the 5SFE that's in there and could be shifted over to the 1MZ or 3MZ when I swap in the next 6 months or so.

I am unsure of the proper name for the part, but mine has developed cracks and splits. It's the piping that runs from the air filter box to the top of the engine. I can't seem to find any auto shops locally that carry it. I would love to replace it with a cold air intake, but I am doing an engine swap later this summer, so depending on price I may decide to just go for the OEM part. Please let me know if you have either available and what you would be looking for shipped to 20678.

Are you selling any of the parts not currently installed separately? If so, what would you take for the set of projector headlights shipped to 20678?

Beautiful write up! I love all the pictures! This will definitely come in handy as I begin the 3MZ swap on my 99 vert.

I'm new to the site, but I am in that area as well. Live in SoMD and work in NoVA. Definitely would be interested in a meet.
