And honestly, the only time I've sold one, or a pair of these if it was for like $10 or $15. No one really wants them Most of the time I just throw them out. There's one of those perfectly good tail lights again. They sell on eBay and car-part.com for $90-130.00 but I'll just throw it in the trash. Something like that? |

I have a bad problem with my clutch system but im hoping someone can help me out. I replaced the slave cylinder this weekend after diagnosing with a friend that it was leaking. When i was in stop and go traffic it would lose pressure and i had to pump the pedal up to drive. The car has 180k miles on it so ive had to replace the slave cylinder previously, as well as the master cylinder, and also a stage 3 act clutch. All three items were replaced about 2 years ago. With the old slave cylinder, if I held the clutch pedal in for a few seconds you could hear the pressure releasing almost like a burp. So that's the history, here's where it stands now. After replacing it, I have topped off the fluid and gravity bled the system. Air bubbles come out of the bleeder valve but no "drip drip" like I read on another forum. With a second person helping me I've tried to bleed the system like I had many times before with him pumping and holding the pedal in and me opening the valve to let the air out. The problem is that it will not build any pressure so that I can bleed it by pumping the pedal. The pedal is so free moving that a 2 year old could push it in with his thumb. I have literally pumped the pedal to the floor 40 times and then held it while he opened the valve and no fluid or air releases. Do I need to somehow prime the system at the master or slave or what am I missing? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also, i have topped off the fluid throughout the process and do not have any leaks. I removed the battery and cold air intake to do the replacement so have not started the car. Is this the problem? A hydraulic system shouldn't need to be started to get it bled and working should it? |

i dont know if anyone else saw it but tonight on the show passtime on speed channel there was a tube chassis celica with a small block american motor in it and it ran a 10 second quarter mile. i was in my room and my roomate screamed my name to come downstairs and see it. I dont watch that show cause its allways american cars, and it wasnt really a 6gc cause it was rwd with usdm muscle motor behind it but it was a rather random sight to see. It even had a blower up through the hood. It is funny though that even with muscle car motor in it and tube chassis it cant touch the 3sgte head/2.2 block frankenstien drag celicas of the late 90's early 2000's. not to mention the supra chassied setups. |

i know that the 2 jz can fit into a rolla with the proper funds. ive seen it done in magazines, in person, and in videos. i guess what im really asking is: has an awd celica of the 6gc type ever been converted to rwd like the evos, talons, mighty max pickups, and wrx/sti for drifting or drag? |

because if i were to use my celica i could use the 3s motor and make alot better horsepower with it as opposed to using a corolla where there is no aftermarket support for a 3s platform. and i know that its possible to put sr20s and etc into rollas but i want to keep it toyota and try to make something differnt. plus, i think the celica with a 3s motor, which it was designed to come with(in diff. countries), would have better weight distribution than a swapped corolla. |

would it be possible to use a awd tranny to make a rwd celica? I know that the topic of rearwheel drive celicas has been beaten to death but i cant find any info about not using a supra motor but using a 3s motor with an awd tranny and removing driveshafts or anything else. i love drifting my 2 ae86s but it would be sweet if i could sell them and make a drift celica.after selling them and with money saved ive got about 6k to work with. could i make my celi rwd using a 3s swap ,turbo or non? ive seen drift cars where they use integras with crv trannys and make it rwd only. just wondering if its been done and/or if it could be done. |

i can actually tell both of you how to fix your problem and its not the weatherstripping. I had the same problem . Ok, gonna rephrase that, there is a gap in the weatherstipping and thats how gunk got into your drains over time but you dont need to replace it to fix the problem. There are actually 4 drain holes. there are 2 in the back. i know this because i had the same exact problem of getting soaked when i broke hard or having water pour out of my courtesy light. The only way to fix this is to totally remove your headliner. once the headliner has been removed you will see 4 drain lines leaving from the 4 corners of your sunroof frame. It is not possible to see the drain holes for the back 2 or to clean them out without removing the headliner. even with the headliner removed you cant get to the "inside" holes for the drain unless you somehow removed the glass from above which isnt feasible. It is a bit of a pain to remove the headliner but i was able to do it in half an hour without a second person. Once the headliner is out you will clearly see all 4 of the drain lines running from the 4 corners of the sunroof tray assembly. the drain lines are clear flexible plastic with finger pinch clamps so its simple to undo them. once you undo them i would use a piece of wire to clean the holes in the front by sliding it down from above and sliding it up from the rear holes. Just basically ream the drain inlets out from below and above. This is how i fixed my problem and im confident it will fix yours. Over time the holes get clogged with a mixture of grease from the tracks, grime from the street/trees and the ever present gremlin poop. once you feel like you have cleaned the drain holes well and cleaned the visible grime from the clear tubing, park the car on a flat surface. Using a 2 liter bottle of water or a small bucket or whatever slowly pour water over the roof of the car, making sure you pour directly into the four corners. This will send much more water that a rainstorm into the sunroof. if the drain lines are clear, you will see 4 individual water spots at each wheelwell as the drain lines dump out at each corner of the car. It will literally look like your car is peeing out of all 4 corners, right behind the wheels. With the headliner still removed you will also be able to see if there are any cracks or failures otherwise. This is how i fixed my problem and i can almost guarantee you are having the same problem. good luck! |

hello everyone. finally got a day to put the exhaust system on. it is on and completely installed now and looks and sounds awesome. the sound it makes is very nice. doesnt sound all high pitch and/or obnoxious like i was worried it may. sounds nice and throaty. there were 2 issues with it that had to be modified. There is no bung(haha bung hole) on the jdm piping to thread the o2 sensor into and the final bend, roughly 2 feet from the cat, has to be deleted. a straight piece of piping has to be installed. As far as the tunneling on the chassis and the bend to get around the rear right wheel suspension it is exactly the same. The muffler fitment to the bumper is perfect. no rubbing and it doesnt hang low.I have taken plenty of pictures of the install and modifications that had to be done. im thinking i could do a write-up complete with pictures about the install if it would be helpful to anyone. otherwise i can just post it in this thread tomorrow. so let me know if i should do a seperate "how to" write up. |

Ive had a fart can welded on muffler for the past 4 years or so and it finally rusted out, as well as about 1.5' of the piping leading up to it. Ive looked at every catback system in the parts database here on the site and even though most of them look like good setups, none of them have an active link to a site where i can buy one. I know that im not going to gain crazy horsepower or anything like that, i just want a nice setup without going to a muffler shop and having something made fabricated/welded together for me. Now that i have money to spend on my car again i want something nice. It just pisses me off that i can spend 2 hours looking at badass exhausts with good reviews from fellow 6gcers but cant find one damn site where i can click and order any of them! any feedback would be great |

I've got 3 taillights for a 97 hatchback. 2 left one right. They've got broken lenses and I was gonna try my hand at making custom lenses but did the supra taillight swap instead. If anyone wants them for a project or whatever send me your zip code and ill see how much they would cost to send u. Not trying to make any money. The buckets or whatever you call them are perfect and the brackets arnt broken and the wire harness is intact |

About a month ago I posted a topic asking for advice on how to clean my headliner. I got some good recommendations from you all and I appreciated it a lot. I finally got around to doing it and turned out great. I had a lot of stains from smoke and something that looked like brake fluid splatter(no idea). Anyways, I used "color safe resolve carpet cleaner". I spent about 40 mins trying to gently dab and rub the stains once I let it soak in but it wasn't really cutting it. I had heard that u shouldn't scrub it but I got aggravated. So I scrubbed the **** out of it. Then It looked cleaner but it was saturated with soap suds. I thied wiping the suds off but it wasn't happening. So my sunroof leaked for 6 months before I fixed I knew it had been wet before so I got the idea, against my friends advice, and sprayed it down with a garden hose. I wouldn't recommend trying this necessarily but I can tell you that if you don't directly spray it downwith full power but rather use the hose at half power and spray it down indirectly its not going to harm the headliner. I then screwd drywall screws into a beam in my garage and hung it on multiple points. Use at least 4 hanging points like the cut outs for the shades and dome light cut out. If you hang it from just one point and it is too wet its possible that it will be heavy enough to warp or tear. I let it dry over night and It turned out great. All the stains are gone and it truely looks new. I was worried that the cardboard would be ruined or the felt would seperate but just take your time and don't spray it down full blast. Hope this is helpful to someone- peace. |
