mr2, 240s are everyone and that is coming from a guy who has a s14 with an rb25det

haha Yes I have seen that thing.... nice....

so anyway...sr20s you can make more power but the reliability issue goes down. Oil pump always has the same problem then the motor blows up.

3sgte always makes power and its reliable.

Sr20/240 you see it everywhere it used to be uncommon but everyone has one now there not cool anymore.

you can make alot less power with an mr2 and run much better times because its obviously a mid engine. you see less mr2s than 240s.... there a completely differnt feel.

clips are so cheep now its not fair.... under 2k now usualy for a sr20... Im leaning towards the mr2 only because I have one. But driving both I like the mr2 much better.

new st205 mount can be found at your toyota dealer for the rear....
and spec has had some issues with their clutches so look into Clutch Masters and a few others as well

yes the cross member along with any parts can be found you have the part # and they will order it. But everytime I tried to order any kind of jdm part it would be cancelled. Not from the dealer directly but from the warehouse. Any jdm parts they see now they pretty much cancel the order...... Unless your getting these parts from a different warehouse than the one I am reffering to..... Obviously these parts all come from japan directly to the warehouse. But they cancelled my st205 mounts 3 times. Over 3 months all at different dealers.

I have never seen anyone have any problem with spec clutches. The feel/grab is great a little better than stock still that real stiff feal and they hold a ton of power. Very streetable nice clutches....

YES! The same trans thats on a st205 is on a mr2 is on a alltrac is on a solara is on a camry.

but good luck finding both of them. Look spec clutch for a mr2 turbo. gt front mount. gt + alltrac top mount and make the rear mount.

^^ Nope... it would be easiest to use that trans being that its already setup for fwd. go on mr2oc and post up a topic on the wtb forum about non lsd e153 axles. I would guess you can get them cheep from there.... there only steal they dont break. So mileage really doesnt matter.

Make sure you have the following though or else its not going to work...
Inner axles mr2
outer axles alltrac
Mr2 turbo / alltrac / solara v6 clutch
front gt mount
the top mount your going to have to combine the two alltrac / gt mounts
the rear one your going to have to make.

And that should be it unless Im missing something?

Wait... is it possible you can bolt on the red top intake manifold to make the intake throttle to the right instead? But paint it black before you put it on. Could it be possible... I wonder...

Even if you sort out if the GT tranny and mounts are a direct fit (which the probably do) you still need to sort out how you want to route the air intake since its on the wrong (no space) side of the car.

honestly if your going through the effort you think having to make a custom intake tube is a deturant...if your worried about making an intake tube..then you shouldn't even think of this to start...

Just short ram the bish! And when you finally got the money, turbo it and you won't have to worry about the intake. And yeah, I say GO FOR IT! Anything is possible with money.

turbo a high compression motor... come on now. laugh.gif

Its not worth it its a na swap thats going to cost alot when you can get a 3sgte for around the same price range.

AWD = MUCHO DINERO and LOTS of CUSTOM FAB

celiman05's father is a custom fab by trade. AWD is not/shouldnt be attempted by any average swapper

not really homes.... I could prolly... take a regular celica...st/gt get a clip and get it done for hrmmmmm well it would really be in the testing waters to be honest. I have always wanted to try it. But I am not that daring.

Figuring a clip would only cost a little less than 2k now and you get a awd e153.. .fitting it in a 6gc isnt a problem. So I would have the whole front part worked out.

Now theres already enough room for a driveshaft. I could get one made for $200. and from there I would have to find a rear end from a alltrac... suspension rear end everything... along with making a fuel cell in the trunk. I dont think it would be that hard. I am not really good with fabricating. But my friend who owns a shop where I do all my work out of Im almost 90% he would be up for trying it. Its the same shop where I did my e153 swap / 3sgte swap. If anyone is really interested in trying a awd swap send me over a pm.

she's not that heavy if you look at it. The supra is technically heavier (sp). And yes I had a automatic, I fixed it up and sold it. Didn't really know the past of the car so I didn't really trust it. So now I have this one. It's 2 seater and nothing but a cream puff. The owner never let it outside and it has never seen rain. biggrin.gif I'm gonna keep her all performance, maybe have to respray some spots the original color but she's not a show car so you don't have to worry about me going extreme. As for working on the Z it's not that bad. Worked on a tt a while back and it was hard yes but not much different the any other car. biggrin.gif

worked on both and didnt really have fun doing it. Everything takes so much time in doing anything. We actually had the motor out of that car in 3 hours .. I was suprised. But anyway... .those things are so heavy... Im not knocking your purchase or anything I meen there nice crusing cars but other than that if its not TT Theres not much of performance you can really do. The motor is huge and theres 4 cams... you would think it would be fast but nope...

those cars are both way over priced....

When looking for mr2s the turbo's are always going to go for rediculous prices with high mileage. Honestly the best thing to do is go to mr2oc.com check out the na ones and find one thats really clean for na for a good deal. Clips are only going for 2k now.... thats SO Cheep. then you have room for little modifications done to it.

Given example.. my mr2... .

http://pittspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27289

1k for the shell 1800 for the rear clip... I have a total of 3500 into it the way it looks today.

Well if you want lsd.. my fault yes its from 93 + mr2 trans that have lsd....
yes the inners have to be from a 93-94 mr2 turbo trans if you want the lsd... but keep in mind that year they have 3 different trans to pick from.

5sfe/s54 trans
e153 with lsd
e153 without lsd

but if you dont want lsd or simply just can afford it then inner stubs can be from a mr2 turbo without lsd which is a huge difference in price.

^^^

I think I have mentioned it atleast 20x.. you must get the carrier bearing bracket from a Mr2. The carrier bearing from the celica is smaller than the one on the mr2. SO you wil need the carrier bearing bracket + snap ring from a mr2.

from any mr2? or turbo mr2? does LSD or not change something?

also:
im plannig to have LSD. Does the axle need to be also LSD?

got another question...i heard that the v6 solara e153 tranny is a good choice also..

if i go with that tranny (with LSD)...are there any changes to do in the axle/carrier/snap ring (or any other part needed) setup?

TIA

Im not sure if lsd does or doesnt. But if your ordering it from the dealer ship make sure its from a 94 mr2 turbo that has what they call a Locking differential. because 94 was the only year they came with the lsd diff. The carrier bearing bracket is around 70-80 bux... and the snap ring is around 5 dollars.

if lsd youll need lsd inner axles which are really expensive.. you get them from the dealer and they might be like 300 dollars each. Sometimes you can get good deals off of mr2 oc for the axles.. but there very expensive.

read the entire thread I even give exactly what you need to do the whole swap. Im sorry man I just dont feel like expalining it over and over theres so much to the process if you have any questions you can im me at burneeeed.
