Thanks for the info. I found the box, but I couldn't really read the part number. It looked to be a single black box about 2"x3", with 2 mounting flanges. One side was ziptied to something under the driver's seat; maybe the left side rail. The car also does have the TOYOTA SECURITY light by the driver's knee, although for some reason, the bezel is installed upside down. Is there a key somewhere about which remote goes to which receiver? Thanks again. |

Excellent, thank you. I've been on your side of the control panel, and I know what it's like. Thanks for the reply. |

Hi. New member here. I confirmed my account via the email and am able to log in. However, none of my posts seem to appear. Is there a new-user approval queue, or is there a set amount of time that must elapse? PMs work, but neither replies nor new threads. I looked at the stickies but didn't find any info. Thanks. |

Hey, I looked around a while, and yesterday I added a post to an existing thread, but it doesn't seem to be appearing. I have a '97 ST with power locks but no remote. From reading here it appears that the receiver should be a black box located under the driver's seat. This is also integrated with a factory alarm. I don't really care about the alarm part of it, but I am looking to see if I can just buy a used OE receiver unit and fob and plug it in. Is the chassis harness there even if the Celica didn't come with remote? I've done this in 2 different Subarus - one had an additional subharness that needed to be found with the receiver. The other one had a pigtail already in place in the chassis harness and I just needed to plug the unit in and mount it. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks. |

Hi, all, don't mean to zombify this thread, but I'm trying to dig up my own info before starting a new thread. Didn't see anything directly answering in the stickies, either. I'm looking to add an OEM remote lock receiver to my '97 ST. I gather it's a black box located under the driver's seat. I don't really care about the alarm one way or the other, but I'd like to have remote locks. Does anybody know if the wiring harness already includes a plug for this, or is it an add-on to the base chassis harness? I've done this twice in Subarus - the '97 needed a receiver and a special subharness pigtail, whereas the '02 already had the connector waiting and just needed the receiver unit. I'm wondering which way the Celica is. Also, anybody know of one for sale? Thanks for any info. |
