Well if it is cranking over, then make sure you have spark. pull a plug wire and place it really close to the block and have some one roll the engine over. (dont hang onto the wire either). if there isnt a spark, then check the cap and rotor. |

I replaced my clutch on my st this winter, and it was also really hard to get the rear tranny mount back in. BUT it will work. I used some leverage to slip it in. |

I have a 94 St, and that, of course, has the open differential. and wheel hop occurs. My car is lowered and it has 18'' rims. What can i do to eliminate this problem?? is there any type of bolt ons, or anything. Any information will be helpful, even if it may seem stupid or redundant. |

i got a 94 st and i am planning on making it a 3s car. i have been researching and it comes down to the mr2 turbo (which i hear, comes with alot of headaces), or the all trac. this may seem dumb, but isnt the all trac all wheel drive...and if i were to put it into my celica....uhh front wheel drive...how does that work??? i dont really understand the all wheel tranny on that car, so if someone could enlighten me, with usefull knowledge, or point me in the right directing so i can read for myself. thanks |

I have heard rumors of putting a 7afe crank and pistons in the 4agze block...this was my first thought of a place to start my research. All i want to know is if its a possiblility... it would be wonderful to get the 1.8 liters out of a 1.6! |

YES you have to resurface the flywheel. i got mine done from a local, and he charged me $50 to do it. I dont think that "2 layer flywheel" is specificly what it is called, but the person will know what you are talking about, when you say it. the reason that it need to be resurfaced is because the pressure plate sits in the lower groove of the flywheel, and ther higher groove is where the clutch disk sits. If it is not machined right, the pressure plate will sit higher, and it will not properly clamp right. |

change the tranny fluid. get the flywheel turned (it is a 2 layer flywheel, let you whoever is doing it know that it is, or else your cluth will NOT work), or you can buy a brand new one. |

hmmmm....well the way oil is classified is by viscosity. the "W" means winter. 5W-30 is a unit of measurement. The way oil is created is that it wasnts to be thinner in winter time and thicker in the summer. when the number of the oil decreses the thinner it gets (10w to 5W). so this means when you go to 5W (for winter or cold temptures) instead of 10W, is meaning that you are putting less cushioning of the parts in the engine, and could wear out faster. But the 30, which is the viscosity of the oil in the summer time, it would be the same. So it is up to you, if you want to have less protection in your celica, at the expense of organizing the oil in a way that you wont screw it up, is totally up to you. But it is possible. |

didnt your centerforce clutch come with a adjustment sheet. i just got my clutch done about 2 weeks ago, and there was a sheet in there for adjustments. Maybe you can call canterforce, and ask them to send you that sheet. |

QUOTE(jdg371 @ Mar 2, 2006 - 6:46 PM) QUOTE(Elevindie @ Mar 1, 2006 - 9:29 PM) ... good luck if you are doing it yourself. dont worry my brother is a Toyota Pro Technician well i had a Honda ASC certified technition help me, and well we even had a little trouble. and you will have trouble with the rear tranny mount, my suggestion is to hit it with some PB Blaster catalist, and use an air wrachet to get it. and there is 2 aligning pins in the bell houseing, mine were rusted/corroded, and made it hard for the tranny to fall off of the engine. what type of tranny fluid are you going to use? i used Royal Purple. $10.30 a Qt. |

i just recently replaced my stock clutch with a centerforce 90% over clutch. it has stocklike pedal feel. centerforce also makes a 30% and a 60%. they can acheive high percent over stock hold from centerfugal weights placed on the pressure plate, they are also made in dual friction. meaning there is two types of friction material on different sides of the clutch plate. My 90% has semimetalic material on one side, and kevlar on the other. also i have read that exedy makes clutches for celica's. didnt researched too hard into them. another thing to remember when replacing a clutch you will want to replace the rear main seal while you are down there. they only cost a few bucks, and it is worth it. good luck if you are doing it yourself. |

i think i found the problem. i switched injectors today, and the cylinder that has the supposed bad injector, did not fire. so it is the injector. does anyone know where to get some aftermarket injectors? thanks for all the help! |

the wires are just fine. because i swapped them with a different cylinder, and it works perfectly. i will see if i can get a stethescope from somewhere, but i just used my ear. i got really close to it, and i could hear it opening and closing. then i moved my ear down to the next injector, to make sure i wasnt hearing that one. |
