The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Police Department proudly presents the Dulles Day Family Festival featuring the 15th Annual Car Show benefiting Special Olympics Virginia on Saturday, September 14th from 11-4pm. This event welcomes any and all cars, trucks, and motorcycles to be displayed on the tarmac of the Federal Express (FedEx) Cargo Building located at Dulles International Airport.



The cost is just $15 for pre-registered vehicles (dash plaques will be given to the first 100 registrants) and $20 the day of to show off your ride (the gate will open at 9am for registration). Top Trophies will also be awarded in several categories and a list can be viewed at the following link….

There’s something for everyone at the Dulles Day Family Festival. Even if you’re not a car enthusiast, there are plenty of events to keep just about anyone entertained. Some of these include the Plane Pull (teams of 25 compete against one another to see who can pull a 164,000+ pound Airbus 12 feet the fastest), live music, military & civilian aircraft displays, business exhibits, Kid’s Truck Pull (teams of 8 compete against one another to see who can pull a big red 123JUNK truck 12 feet the fastest), and a special Kids Zone just to name a few. The BLACK VIP car show hosted by Luxury Abstract and Liberty VIP, was originally created to bring like-minded car enthusiasts together once a year to celebrate the unique culture that is VIP style. It was the first of its kind in North America and drew inspiration from the Japanese events such as the "King of Sedan." Since the first show in 2010 the scene as well as the show has shown tremendous growth. It is open to not just aggressively lowered sedans but all modified luxury as well as the vanning and k-car community. It all goes hand in hand with the style. People have traveled great distances to attend the previous events and this year should be no different.

BLACK VIP plans to do it even bigger by holding the event in conjunction with Tuner Evolution in an indoor facility, the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on August 3rd. We welcome everyone to attend the first annual Michigan Mile Car Show. This event is scheduled to take place on July 6th & 7th at W.K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek, MI and will be offering something that has not been done before….an all-out action packed weekend with some of the hottest, fastest, and most exotic cars you’ve ever seen. Not only that, it will take place at the same time/location as the Michigan Mile standing one-mile timed event and the Battle Creek Airshow. This is truly going to be a family event for all to enjoy. Some drivers will have an opportunity to be able to run the Mile Run on a working airport runway while others will show off their pride and joy in a two day car show. We have opened the show classes to all makes and models and although this is our first show, we have many years of experience to bring to the table. We have teamed up with the Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET organization to help this amazing event. Mischief.tv will also be on hand to provide media coverage, possibly on a new video to be released late summer. We are very excited to offer this event to you and look forward to seeing you. If you’re not participating in the event, spectators are most welcome and encouraged to attend and tickets will be available for purchase at the gate.

THIS YEAR ALL VEHICLES MUST BE SCREENED AND PRE-APPROVED BEFORE REGISTRATION CAN BE FULLY COMPLETED.

This will be a two-step process. Step One – Tuner Evolution will evaluate the quality of your vehicle and then notify you of your approval or denial. If you are approved, you will be instructed on how to complete Step Two (final registration and payment). Due to the overwhelming amount of applications, it may take several weeks for you to be notified.

Entrees for the Tuner Evolution DJ Battle are now being accepted. The DJ battle will be a "Redbull Thr3estyle" format battle incorporating technical skill, originality, and party rocking abilities. Please submit a quick (2 minutes or less) video via youtube or vimeo to chris@tuner-evolution.com that showcases your best abilities. Entrants that make it through the video audition will then be entered into a pool and will be selected by a lottery process to receive 1 of 8 slots in the main battle at the show on August 3rd, 2013 at the Philly Expo Center at Oak's. Winner will receive a cash prize to be determined.

DC Rollergirls are proud members of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (www.wftda.org), the national governing body for women's amateur flat track roller derby. The WFTDA is comprised of skater-owned and -operated leagues all over the world that have united to lead this growing sport.

The non-profit league is run entirely by the skaters, who contribute their free time and talents to manage the business side of the league: everything from organizing fundraising events to designing promotional materials. DC Rollergirls also maintain a strong sense of pride in the community by partnering with local charities and participating in local events. The league's vision is to promote athleticism, diversity and roller derby, and foster self-worth, personal strength, and female empowerment.

Currently the league is composed of four competitive home teams: Cherry Blossom Bombshells, DC DemonCats, Majority Whips, and Scare Force One. These teams practice several times a week in order to compete against each other for the season's championship. The league also has three levels for interleague competition: The DC All-Stars compete against other international leagues in WFTDA-sanctioned bouts, the ultimate prize being the WFTDA championship trophy, the Hydra; The National Maulers serve as the B-Team; finally, The Capitol Offenders are a pick-up fun team for challenge bouts.

It has been a long six months since our last event but the wait is finally over! You are cordially invited to attend the 2013 Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET “Season Opener” presented by Mischief.tv & AiNET on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 12-5 pm. Due to the huge success last year, the event will be held again at AiNET’s spacious data center located at 7900 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

The data center, which is situated on 15 acres with over 1500 parking spaces, is still part of an active mall that is open to the public (Marley Station) so bring the entire family. We have coordinated this event through the local police department who will be onsite to help direct traffic and provide security if needed. This is a requirement that must be fulfilled in order to keep the meets legal. Admission is FREE, there will be live DJ performances, media coverage by Mischief.tv, and the hottest rides from all over the region are always in attendance. Also, we will be having a vendor row so if you would like to reserve an area to display company product/vehicles, then please contact us at the information listed below.

The Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET would like to thank everyone that braved the windy/chilly weather to show support for this charity event.



Thank you to AiNET for allowing us to use their new data center parking lots. Thank you to Mischief.tv for media coverage of the event and to DJ Remell for djing. Thank you to the Marley Station Mall and also the Anne Arundel County Police for approving the permits. Thank you to the DC Rollergirls, Race Appeal, ModMeets, Hill’s Garage, Custom Functionz, Speed Happens, AAM Competition, and Team HighMaintenance for each being an event sponsor and assisting in paying for the off duty police officers. Thank you to all the great staff and volunteers that helped throughout the day allowing the event to run smoothly. A HUGE thanks to Bonchon Chicken, MD for the generous $500 donation! I am not sure if more people came to see all of the amazing rides or a bald Dustin Worles.



Most of all, thank you to everyone who donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program and also to the American Red Cross. At the end of the day, the Marines left with a van full of toys and $739 was collected and will be used to purchase even more toys! $340 was also collected for the Hurricane Sandy victims along with several bags and boxes full of canned goods and clothes.



Knowing that we have all helped so many people through this event is the perfect way to end the 2012 season. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and see you in April/May 2013 for Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET Season Opener!

The Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET (MAMM) is a non-profit organization. We have never made any money off any of the events that we have organized and never will as long as I am in charge. The main charity for this event is the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program and representatives will be onsite to collect brand new, unopened, and unwrapped toys. However if you forget to bring a toy, there will be a donation jug located at the MAMM booth where you can drop off cash donations. The second charity for this event is to help Tutti Frutti / BonChon Chicken continue their efforts of helping people that were affected by Hurricane Sandy. There will be another donation jug located at the MAMM booth were you can drop off cash donations that will go directly to the American Red Cross. You can also drop off canned foods and clothes at the MAMM booth to help the relief efforts. All cash that is collected in both of these donation jugs will go directly to support what they are intended for. Funds that were received for the vendor booths will assist in paying for the off duty police officers. We are going to end the 2012 season with a bang!
