When you mean the belt breaks off you mean the belt slips off the pully or it actually breaks/snaps apart ?? Their are places that sell 5sfe belts w/o AC I can't remember which store I think it's autozone call your local auto stores to find out.

QUOTE (presure2 @ Feb 12, 2011 - 6:02 AM) *
check the tension on the belt.

Tension is nice and tight when I rotate the crank even tried the "tension trick" the cam and other pullys rotates normal too.

QUOTE (Bitter @ Feb 12, 2011 - 9:37 AM) *
all the slack has to be on the tensioner side of things, so that when the tensioner engages the belt its only taking slack...not moving the belt.

Nothing moves when I loosen the belt back to tight I know when you spin the crank you'll loose about 5degress just when you turn the crank I even tried the tension trick where I line up the crank and the cam pully take the belt off the cam pully rotate the crank back 5degrees counter-clockwise then put the belt back on the cam pully making sure Its still at the "u" notch then turn the crank 5degrees clockwise back to 0btdc to help tighten the belt but still when I rotate the crank 720 degrees to make sure everything is still lined up the cam will be off a couple of teeths been playing around with this for an hour now and still nothing. I have the no.1 spark plug out just to make sure the piston is at the top center all the pullys spin just fine no noises or anything and the cam pully spins clockwise like normal it just won't stay lined up at the "u" notch..?

Hey all, I'm having a bit of a problem lining up the u notch on the cam pully every time I set the crank to 0btdc and adjust the cam pully so it align with the "u" notch after taking the tension pully off loose mode then rotating the crank 720degree back to 0btdc to make sure they stay line up but the cam pully is always off the u notch by a couple of teeths ?? Anybody know why this is happening ?? I changed the belt last spring and didn't have this problem before.

I'm not a member but I know they will sell to the public people of MN my friend used to work for them told me they move the cars around with forklifts...and yes most of their cars are totaled or flooded cars with salvage titles recommended for parts only plus some workers steal stuff from the car before being sold from what I've heard misc sensors and parts but I guess it just depends on which lot you buy from maybe ??

I'm guessing your talking about the crank oil seal not the oil pump gasket by your descriptions.

Toyota OEM 2.2L 5sfe Oil Crank Seal Part No. 9008031022 MSRP:$11.37

You didn't specify what motor but by looking at your sig you have a GT 2.2l ??

The first time I took my valve cover off their was some sludge build up even though I change the oil every 3-4k miles, its mainly to help clear out some of that build up without taking chucks out at a time.

Do you mean oil weight or oil brand recommendations ?? For winter weather I use valvoline 5w30 high mileage oil and mix half a quart of ATF in the crankcase with every oil change. I don't use any oil additives or recommend them to anyone I tried lucas oil stabilizer once but it just decrease my mpg and power it did quiet down my motor though.

Is the ticking sound coming from the cylinder head ?? If so you prob need to do a valve clearance adjustment its recommend for the 5sfe every 60k to check and adjust, for the knocking check to make sure your timing is not off it should be 10btdc.
