do a leak test on your intake, its probably becouse you are leaking air, also check your wastegate install , it might be stuck open or something

humm when we owned a celica and a eclipse i had a dumb friend that was waiting to be picked up by me in my ex celica (he knew my car a lot), but before i got there my mother passed there wih our ex 2g eclipse doing her stuff...and i cant imagine her face when my friend (unknown to my mother) stepped into the car at a red light, he got slapped and kicked, and hell broke loose.....then i arrived and he was all beaten up, and i ask him, wtf happened to you...and he told me both cars loooked alike...i just replied...wtf are you blind?

well actually not gone, but now has a new owner that will love it a lot and appreciate it, it just reached 60k miles and its working very nicely, my sister loves it, and im threating her if she tries to paint it pink yawn...

and for myself i got a rps13 nissan 200sx (really a 180sx but in chile they are named 200sx for some weird reason), i wanted a stock car with good shape, well i only saw ones with crap maintenance, bad turbos, with more crashes than years, so it was a buit of a pain in the ass to find one decent, at the end i found one slightly tuned but with new engine basically, i got the papers that verify all w3as bought and all maintenences and stuff so i can trust its past, the thing i dont like a bit is than its a bit tuned, but was the best i could get, although it was cheap and hase nice toys, apexi avcr, i think alcohol injection, cai, blowoff, etc but stock turbo and stock pressure, its a pretty nice car to have, i would say about 200whp but for 1100 kg its very nice weight/hp ratio, having fun with it now, making it more civilised smile.gif, but paint is crap, but well all that cant be fixed is working correctly. so im happy smile.gif, you guys have helped me a lot and im very happy to have participated a bit here, although im still checking the forums reguylarly and my sister will probably join, shes young so please make her feel welcome when the time comes, 6gc owns

i already know that, but since celica never came as a new car in chile and used import is forbidden, geting spare parts is impossible, mine got into country by special laws.
dealership charges me about 500 us dollars each part (1000 dollars total), and importing gets also very high cost, so i really need an alternative

I dont regret it, the celi as a first car is awesome, reliable, slow but enough to drive, very good handing, decent economy (st), since it was my first car and a car to learn i dont regret it, but, now i want to sell it, i dont think it satisfy me anymore, i need a bit more of power and less weight, probably a 180sx

I wanted to do a complete ac, alternatior, etc belt change since they are making some noise(6 gen st) and one is gone now

The problem is wherever i go i ask for belts for the celica, they ask me what is a celica. this car is uber RARE at this country and i cant find spares anywhere, the serial number on the belts themselves are erased or very hard to read.

I know a guy that could help me get the belts but I need those numbers in order to make some sense to him (I think they are some thin like 5pk 845) or something like that, does anyobody know these numbers?, I would apreciate it a lot if you can help me

(btw sorry for my bad english)

QUOTE(san0 @ Feb 2, 2007 - 3:33 PM)

I always wanted a 6 Gen celica, now I have one. I chose black as it won't fade so much as red does.

I'd look out for knocking sounds coming from the back suspension, that's a problem with the rubber bushes or the rear struts. Mine has that sound - klunking sounds when you go over little bumps in the road - i thought it was the car jack or the spare tyre, but its not.

Check to see all the locks work as mine came with 1 key but it won't lock the boot or the glove box!

On cold mornings, see if the steering wheel squeeks, as mine does - wierd.

Other than that - go for high spec - in Oz it's most prob an import like mine - so a GT is best (manual).

Good luck - she won't regret it.

hey my car is having that problem too but i speak spanish and what u said is difficult to translate into useful knowledge to me, could you post a picture or more detailed information about this? i really want to fix mine

advice: well toyotas in gereral are cars that refuse to have problems generally, so i wouldnt check for any celica specific problems, just the general ones
