I'm going to have to agree with just snagging a 3SGTE, if you just watch a few of the importers they will run specials. A few months ago you could snag a caldina ST215 motor/ecu/wiring harness with AWD tranny for 1800 plus shipping. I got my ST185 with 34k miles for 1800 shipped. Your best bet is to wait for a deal if your motor isn't already shot. But, your money. -Dustin |

Add me as Pending. I work mids the night before and that night (9pm-7am shift) but I've been hungry for some wings. I think my friend Thom might come as well. I'll probably be rolling the tC, or maybe the SE-R. -Dustin |

Sounds solid, all it will have is the motor. Stripped interior, I think I'm gonna give glassing it a shot. Needs a little bodywork, dings and dents, rear bumper is split, needs a paint job. Also have to get the 87 RX-7 Turbo running again, and do some bodywork/painting on the 92 SE-R. So. Plenty to see. :-P Not just a Toyota guy... more an import enthusiast. -Dustin |

Hey DeW_H0e, I know there's another guy in Titusville that bought a 3SGTE celica, red with an invader kit, his name slips my mind at the moment. I've already got the 7afe out and the 3sgte is sitting on a brace with 2 mounts hooked up. We were using impact tools, but when the friend moved, those went with him. Might call a few places and see if I can get it finished up for a reasonable price. -Dustin |

I'll talk with the wife about hitting the meet on the 11th. I'd end up rolling in the tC as the Celica is, well, in pieces and the RX needs some motor work. I work mid shift so I'm not sure how awake I'll be, I'll post on the meet forum when I have some more definitive plans. -Dustin |

Hey there! I've been a forum lurker for a while now. It all started when I found a 1995 Celica ST with a blown motor for 300 bucks. The sleek and sexy lines instantly got my attention. Since then I've done a fair bit of research on the Celica and the 3SGTE motor and purchased an ST185 3SGTE from Venus-Autos. Been working on it on and off for the past year or so, and recently the mechanically inclined friend that was helping me with it moved. Now I'm looking for someone in or around the Melbourne Florida area to give me a hand. I've got all the parts(As far as I know), I just seem to be a little lacking in the knowledge department. So, toss me a PM! -Dustin |

Hi! *DISCLAIMER* I'm a bit of a nublet, I did a search, and turned up nothing. So, that being said... I recently purchased a 1995 Celica ST for 400 bucks non-running order. I quickly procured a 3S-GTE ST185 front clip for it, with the awd tranny. And grabbed a camry transmission off of a 5S-FE motor at a junkyard(As I didn't have the necessary parts/budget/skill to do the awd swap). Only problem is, the passenger side transaxle has a bracket that sits properly, but doesn't bolt up(No bolt holes). Personally, as this is a fairly low budget swap (2500 total into it, car & clip), I was thinking about just drilling the holes through the iron plate as a fix. However my friend seems to think that it would be cheaper and faster just to procure another transaxle bracket that mounts straight to the block without modification. Has anyone been in a similar prediciment, or have some expert advice on what would be best/easiet/cheapest? Thanks in advance. -Dustin. |
