Sorry to say it, but selling my baby. She has been my project car for 6 years now. She's been sitting sadly in my garage now for about a year. Before, she was my daily driver. Runs strong and smooth. Anyone that has driven a swapped Celica will vouch for the amount of power this car puts down. She is not perfect and will require the right owner (see below). I'd like to see her go to a good home. She would be a great winter project to get her back into her prime. The good:
Performance
Exterior
Interior
Needs attention:
Here's the bonus: I have a TON of extra parts. Enough to build a whole separate motor minus the short block.
Pictures of her in her prime: Asking $3000 for everything. I would like to keep everything together as a whole package, but if the interest isn't there I will entertain splitting things up. Thanks for looking! |

call me crazy but the st215 intercooler is meant for a completely different intake manifold and will not come anywhere near close enough to fit on a second or third gen 3s. |

The 5th gen celica uses the same radiator for the 5s and the 3s... it is more than enough for a stock 3s. |

My 3rd ecu plugged directly into the 185 ECU. Only one wire had to be repinned. |

What's your point? The PCV needs the vacuum or it will smoke like a chimney... there's nothing else to discuss. |

The crankcase is not a vacuum... but the intake is. The air is getting SUCKED into the engine. The hoses connected to the intake are also gettting that 'suck'. |

I would listen to Lagos. Tee off your intake line so you can hook up your BPV AND your PCV. I'll wager that your smoking issues will disappear. My swap had the same problem... Lagos is correct. Why don't you just try it and see what happens? It would probably be wise to take the advice of people that know what they are talking about. The PCV should be under VAC at all times... pure and simple. |

Thanks, Scothaniel. Any idea where I could find a 92-93 pinout? I can only seem to find the 90-91. |

That means I'm really f'd then... because this "mine's" ecu has completely different pin placements... not even close Edit: What about the AFM wiring? Doesn't the RC AFM have more/less wires going to it? What are those extra wires doing? |

I've been searching for any sort of ecu pinout diagram for the rc... to no avail. So since it's not looking good in that department... is there any way to find out which pin goes to where? Or am I pretty much f'd? |

Opened up the ECU only to find this... no pinout diagram. The harness did have the plug for the intercooler... however the ecu plug has been chopped. I called them and expressed my disapproval. I have a feeling there is going to be a major wiring issue... even though I already have a working harness from my previous 3s. Good news is: They told me to send back the AFM and they will send the correct one. Lets just hope they still have it. P.S. To those wondering about my first 3s: Long story short I let my friend borrow it for a day and it came back in pieces... I hope you all learn from my mistake... It's like they killed my child. |

Thanks for the head gasket advice 94wrc. I'll definately do that. The only problem is gt4oc.net has a charge for access to their forums. I would do it but I can't justify any expenses at this moment. Would it be possible for you to make a quick run-through on the forums over there and see if you come across anything? I wonder why the sticker was taken off of the ECU... hmm... I'm gonna call the importers right now. |

I wish I could check the ECU part number but Mine's seems to have taken the identification off of it. I know for sure the AFM is a regular 185... the part number is the same as my other 3s. Any other way to verify? Omega are those part numbers all for RC components or are the harness and ignitor part numbers the same as a regular 185? |

I recieved my motor today. Here's some pics. The mine's ECU almost makes me believe that this might be a standard 185 motor with the W/A IC swapped over. This is supported by the fact that I asked for the AFM and he sent me a standard 185 one. Is there any other way to check to verify that this is an RC motor? Thanks. (Deph in particular ) |

RC Motor Says it comes with a FWD trans. Meaning either it's a swapped motor or a swapped intercooler setup. Seller has no feedback. |

Of course without a fan it's not going to be as effective as a front mount. Heat soak is a major issue. But the Spal fan isn't your normal room fan. It's very effective. Presure2 do you have experience with the top mount? You talk about hot air negating any sort of cold air going into the engine bay... which is completely false. I find it amazing that you are such an expert on the subject without having any experience with it. I'm not saying the top mount is the best solution. But it is definately a valid option when done correctly. You can't deny all the st185 owners that don't even think about upgrading their intercooler because the amount of cooling they get with this combination is more than adequate for their current setup. |

A hood scoop is fine... get a spal pusher fan and heat soak won't be a problem at all. The stock intercooler design is perfectly fine. |

Wow... you're just jumping into this. Good luck. Do some research on the site for some parts that you might not have. Keep us updated. P.S. Where did you get the info that the V6 tranny was the best option? |

Been using my 5s tranny for over a year. Second gear is starting to make a whine... but I've been beating on it for over a year.... it's expected. The damn thing takes it like a champ. |

QUOTE(purplegt4 @ Feb 14, 2006 - 12:56 AM) i'd more than expect lagos to crush a rsx-s. No contest Bigmeanbulldog55, where have you seen numbers put down by a FWD 3s? I have yet to see a swapped dyno run... if you know of some please show me. |
