QUOTE(celi94 @ May 3, 2006 - 9:45 AM) Clearing Trouble Codes After repair of the circuit, the diagnostic code(s) must be removed from the ECM memory. With the ignition turned OFF, remove the 15 amp EFI fuse for 30 seconds or more. Once the time period has been observed, reinstall the fuse and check for normal code output. Fig. 17: Removing the EFI fuse will clear the trouble codes retained in the ECM If the diagnostic code is not erased, it will be retained by the ECM and appear along with a new code in event of future trouble. Cancellation of the trouble code can also be accomplished by disconnecting the negative battery cable. However, disconnecting the battery cable will erase the other memory systems including the clock and radio settings. If this method is used, always reset these components once the trouble code has been erased. chilton online So.... disconnecting the negative battery will reset my ECM so that my Fuel to Air Ratio is reset? See what I am trying to do is "Resetting your Air/Fuel Mixture Ratio" from the 'How to' section of www.6gc.net. The instructions specifially say that the Hazard, EFI and ECU fuses need to be removed for 1min then let the car run for 10min to reset. see the efi fuse just wount budge. |
