Location: Vermont

I've owned this car since it had 106k on it back in 2004 and its been through 4 years at college, 3 trips to florida and 2 years after that commuting for work on 90% highways. I've been apart of the site for I think almost 4 years and its been a pleasure, especially the CSP meets. Never have I ever thought this day would come but I picked up an audi at an auction for cheap and the AWD is going to be great in the snow and its really a nicer ride from a comfort stand point plus 4 doors. Now I'm not sick of the celica but the wifey likes the ride better in the audi but sometimes we both miss the sporty feel of the celica... so for that reason I will keep my eyes open for another 6th gen in a couple years as a project car with all the knowledge I have accumulated form this site but the time has come to sell one of my cars. It has a salvage title but the only parts I replaced was the pass fender, windshield, airbags, and low beam on the pass side. It looks like it hit something small because we fixed the bumper and pulled the corner out a little and nothing has been an issue for 6 years now that I've owned it and it will last another couple. I was about to put a windshield in it and get it inspected but 2 days before the appointment I bought an Audi. $1800 obo.

-210k on Original Motor
-5 spd
-Clutch replaced at 128K and still feels like new
-Burns 1 qt of oil every 900 miles but I use to travel 7 mins to work and back so I checked it every 3-4 weeks
-Only needs a windshield to pass inspection
-Replaced O2 sensors around 150k with Bosch Plugs instead of denso so the check engine light is on and will come on roughly 30 miles after you clear the code which is what I've done only for inspections bc the light never bothered me and I can clear it for anyone that buys the car if they don't have a code reader.
-Replaced spark plugs, cap and rotor in 2006 and 2008
-NEW Brakes all the way around with less than 2k miles
-NEW Exhaust with less than 2k miles
-Comes with Summer 17" rims with 235/40/17 tires
-Also comes with 14" steel rims with General Altimax Arctic tires with less than 5k on them. (Re-balanced them and resealed the beads)
-Great/Good condition interior

Parts on it:
-Alpine cd player
-Front strut bar & Rear not installed
-SRI (have extra piping plus stock airbox)
-Tien S-Tech lowering springs (have stock ones as well)
-Emergency horn and sirens
-Clear corners & side markers (stock amber ones I do have)
-Car is currently de-stickered but I do have extra 6gc.net stickers to go with it and some small "celica" ones too I believe.

Start with Autocross. Take your stock or slightly modified celica like I do which is still my DD and have fun. I watched 2 autocross events first before I decided to enter myself.

Upon further communication with members I have the exhaust that has the cat further down and not attached to the manifold. Any parts of the exhaust besides the Manifold will help too since I need them all.

I'm buying stock exhaust pieces to replace my whole exhaust system since I have 4 leaks and all are not fixable anymore with muffler paste and inspection is next month. I've been looking at manifolds and autozone said that they don't have a manifold for my 7afe if it was made before feb 1996, but they do if it was made after march 1996. Make any sense?

I was looking at the manifolds and the difference is in the bolt holes on the block I believe. Can anyone verify this? So what I'm looking for is a 7afe manifold made before feb 1996 that someone could sell me?

Mine fell off a couple years ago going through a city and since then a shoe lace and zip ties have been my batteries companion but since auto cross is starting soon again I'm looking for that complete bracket if anyone has one for sale and is willing to ship it to me in NH (03784). Thank you,

Darin

I work at a tire warehouse and I've priced some of these spacers out for customers. They bump you out 1 1/4" and slide over your existing studs and you put lugs nuts on them and it bolts down and then puts out whatever bolt patterns you want. They run about $50 a piece, so 200 for a set of 4.

Autozone has that rear exaust piping piece for like $23 and a high flow cat with an O2 hole is like $15 off ebay and the piping and clamps wouldn't be too expensive.

I was looking for a stock exhaust too but I got offers of our stock ones used for over $200 shipped. I priced out aftermarket which would require me to use new oem piping for the rear part over the suspension (autozone for example) and new ebay headers, new muffler (but could use existing one still if wanted) and my own high flow cat and the brackets and piping for $230 total. Yeah you have to do some adjusting and maybe cutting by making your own but I have 4 exhaust leaks including a cracked manifold so everything might as well go. If I get crazy I may side pipe it to save time and money

What if one of the autocross members had the celica so hard into a corner a wheel comes up or what if the picture is of a celica in a ditch with one wheel up???? Theres legal pictures/bad situation photos that could be out there so if you change the subject then do so because its very rare and not probable. Not because you don't ever have your tires ever off the ground... wink.gif

I really like the new wheels instead of those steelies you were rocking out. Keep up the good work.

I plan on getting another car for a DD (hopefully another celica) Then I will take everything out of the celica's interior including the door panels, center arm rest, the whole dash... minus the airbags, cluster and shift knob. Possibly remove AC too... But how much more weight do you think the door panels and the dash could save in weight? 20lbs?

I have autocross events in VT that I will be attending if anyone is close and wants to have fun they can come.

ALSO: its not that our women have full control of what we do but if they are happy then "WE" are happy wink.gif

My celica is lowered 1.8-2" all the way around and with half tread snow tires last winter I made it through 9" of poweder over a 1/4 mile up hill(not a huge hill but a hill)... granted I had snow up to my headers and battery when I stopped but the celica is great in the snow.

This year I'm running on General Altimax Arctic's and I do 65mph on the highway when there is nothing but white snow underneath me and I credit the TIRES to what our cars can and cannot do. All-seasons are not meant for temperatures below freezing which is why they suck in the winter and cannot grab ice... no matter if you are a great driver or not, your life may rely on your tires to stop or steer you from harm that's most likely uncontrollable so I will never run all-seasons in winter. My .02

For a second there I thought you may have been trying to make a supra but it looks great, its not riced out, and that rear tire and rim combo looks mean. thumbsup.gif

Edit: Now it just needs some clear corners on the front!

I don't know how to put what I want into a title but after 5 years in vermont and my car being lowered the exhaust is on its way out. Every 3-4 weeks I need to apply Muffler Paste to stop the leaks and so I'm looking for any full stock exhausts that maybe you have lying around after a build or swap and you no longer need. I'm even looking for an aftermarket muffler so if you have something collecting dust let me know.

Thank you.

Tien S-Techs have been on my car for 3+ years and about 60k+ miles. They are stiffer than stock but still comfortable and with all lowering springs they will settle a little lower than what they first start out at as a year or 2 go by. I got them for $120 back in the day and I don't know how much they are now but I have no complaints.

QUOTE (schmooot @ Nov 2, 2009 - 3:07 PM) *
anybody know if I can manage to fit 215/65-16 in my wheel wells? just curious, its 27" diameter for those who are interested...stock size is 24.46" diameter

edit: I guess I could just take the radius of that and measure it against the distance between my hub and lower strut mount huh? maybe I'll try that

They will not fit. A 215/55/16 would be really close at 25.3". gl

I have burned up my summer tires after 2 years now on them and I ran 225/45/17's and I loved the wider look they gave the celica. The only Con to these tires were that on my front axel they are a little wide for the 1.8l at 194k miles to push around all the time since I dropped back to my snow tires which are 185/70/14's and they roll so much easier. Basically the engine feels like its huffing and puffing up hills with the wide tires now in her old age. But getting to my question, I was thinking about 225/45/17's in the rear and 205/50/17's in the front for the lighter load on the drive train but keeping the wider look towards the rear. Running a 205 is less stress because it's skinnier right? or does the fact that its the same height as the 225's still make it the same strain on the parts because its the same amount of tire just a different proportion? Anyone done this with a picture to show me an example?

Yes, you can and will damage your AWD setup if you run differently sized tires front to back. AWD vehicles always need to have the same running diameter. Always replace tires in sets of 4, and replace them with 4 matching tires.

I'm a manager at tire warehouse and just to add again that its not good at all to mix match tires on AWD... even the same tread but different tread height greater than 2/32nds is not supposed to be good. How much damage does it cause to the transfer case is unknown but everything now a days is a lawsuit so thats were the larger tire chains stand on that(at least we do). On a personal level you still don't want to even for yard driving esp those size tires which are too big.

I had that teal color, it was brilliant in person - pictures don't do it justice, it has a metallic flecking in it that just makes it look amazing.

I would say the same as everyone else, 6-7k - considering it only has 54k miles though...how long has it been sitting/how often has it been driven?

The guy drives it only in the summers and garages it in the winter. He said he'd call me when he decides to sell it (which he said was possibly soon) so it could be this year or maybe never. I know that it will be hard letting mine go even if its for another 6th gen

Thanks for the input everyone. How rare is the 8 speaker option though?

While I was at work yesterday a teal colored 6th gen pulls into my work and the the 40+ year old guy and this hot 30 something woman step out and look over my car. So seeing that they are celica fans I go out and talk to him. His celica is just a summer car and he was thinking about selling it soon. Here's what he had and tell me how much you think YOU would pay for it.

1995 Celica GT
Leather
Sunroof
5 Spd
8 speaker sound option
Cd Player W/stock equilizer
58k original miles
No rust

Seriously this car was clean, the headlights were still crystal clean and the stock alloys were still as nice as they were when the car was bought new. I gave him my # and told him he has to call me first when he decides to sell it. What would you pay for this mint beauty?
