Hey Maggie and 1994Celica, you guys are great. You pretty much read my mind about cutting it. But it seems such a shame to have to cut up an $80+ part just to get it in. At this point I'm leaning towards making my own part by cutting the piece out of an old plastic trash can or the likes. Any thoughts on that? |

Good posting! I have the exact same problem. Mine just cracked & disintegrated due to too much sunlight exposure I guess. This part is readily available from a number of sources. The dealer near me wants $83 for it, but if you google the part number you'll find a number of sources selling it in the $40 range. For the most part, it's not too difficult to get to this part. But there is a real tricky part, and that's removing the shifter knob (33504F in the diagram above). There are linkage parts coming up into the knob. Has anyone figured out how to remove the knob? I would sure appreciate any info on this if so. Thanks! |
