I am running 10psi with 6 degree static retard and safc I do daily ecu resets. I have ran up to 14psi

Well that's the whole reason for me needing to get this under control I want to run 7-8 psi but the engine seems to enjoy it regardless and I don't hear any knock running -8 static retard and 93 at 10.5 afr. But since I found my wastegate was the problem I don't let it spool past 9 if I let it shift it will then spike to 12.

So every since being boosted on my 7afe I have never been able to lower my boost past 10-12 psi I kept changing out wastegates no real effect. I decided to just unhook the wastegate auctator and leave the wastegate always open thinking I might see a pound or so I'm still seeing 10 and 12 from 2nd to 3rd shift its an auto. How is this possible.

I know this is a somewhat dated thread but I have put about 1500 miles on my new 7afe build. I am using a t25 with safc and wide band. Also I'm running 265cc Miata injectors it's plug and play I turned the dizzy back to 5 degree instead of 10. I have a switch I made to reset the ecu in cabin and that helps keep my safc tune from getting kicked out. The car runs near stock when off boost and has plenty of power. I also had bad misfire until plug gap at .22 but I'm also running at 12-13 psi so might have something to do with it. Anyway if I where you I'd go safc wideband and Miata injectors or safc wideband 320cc supra injectors and 3sgte 2 bar map and if your staying fmu perhaps the begi unit since you can leave fuel alone for the onset of boost. Btw 320cc will run nasty rich on warm up even with safc tuning if running stock map and 320 is not needed unless you plan on 200-220whp. The stock will get you to about 160, the Miata stock 180es.

The turbo is a Garrett journal t25. I bought just the manifold and turbo from turbospecialties and put together the rest. It has a safc for tuning and injectors from a 04 Mazdaspeed Miata 265cc. Base timing is turned back 5-6 degrees and I'm running 1 colder plugs with .22 gap. The safc works well but from what I have noticed requires an ecu reset every few days. I plan on making a switch that cuts power to just the ecu so I can reset it quick and often. A few other things, I'm running a mishimoto Intercooler with a turbo xs rfl. Currently the setup is at 14 psi but I'm staying mostly off boost until I get my lower psi wastegate. Also the turbo and manifold barely fit. The manifold crushes the oil filter so relocation had to happen, the turbo was shipped clocked in such a way that the cold charge side pointed into the trans mount. To correct I had to re clock and make room for the wastegate to clear the transmission. Overall it's still my daily and when it gets its low psi wastegate I will expect to be no less trustworthy than stock.

HI guys, So first off i have owned this car for all of my legal driving years ( 12 ) and it has been though many changes as i get older taste change. The car kinda grows and matures with me. I have referenced the forums many times and though it was time i join in. I am running 14 psi on a garret t25 but will soon by a lower psi wastegate to daily at around 8. Stock internals and trans. Btw the z06 is my weekend car.

So after 10 years of lurking on forums for information I am joining to share knowledge or experiences. I'll start by saying my name is Hunter I'm 27 and live in nc. I have owned my Celica since I was 15 and it's my daily. I also drive a c5 z06 from time to time. I will post details about my build later but it is a 7afet on a t25 at 14 psi stock trans and block I will be lowering it down to 8 soon for longevity. I will post pictures as soon as I upload them to a host site since I don't see a way to attach them here.
