I was pulling apart my rear brakes today and on the rear right one some lovely previous owner had fully stripped the bolt and cracked the rubber boot on the top slider Just wondering if anyone has a diagram or knows the part numbers for these as I would like to replace them and I can't find them cause I don't know exactly what the names are to look for Thanks |

My parking lights dont work but when i twist the stick to parking lights up and so does the tail lights just like with normal headlights. and this is what has stumped me because from what i have read normally these go though the same fuses and stuff(correct me if i am wrong) and so i have no idea what is up because my headlights and high beams all work fine aswell so idk and help would be greatly appreciated as i need to get this fixed before my wof is due and auto electricians are expensive. |

I have an entire assembly for sale if you can get one out there. The top, bottom, maf, and the elbow. I can email you pics. yea sweet as the only problem is i only need the air box top, bottom, and filter cause i have all of the stock tubing and i understand if you don't want to only sell half. Although if buying a whole thing second hand off you is cheaper then from the Toyota dealer here then ill just do that. ill private message you my email address thanks I get all of my part numbers through ToyoDIY. It's a lifesaver. Even though it's on mr2.com, the BEAMS Owners Group is primarily Celica Redtop's because they are far more common. I'm not on there much anymore but there used to be quite a few parts for sale, including intake lids. Ohk thanks very much ill have a look into that today |

The part number is 17705-74490. Sweet thanks where did you get the from cause I find it so hard to find part numbers. You can also post a WTB ad in the BEAMS Owners Group on mr2.com and see if anyone over there has one. Oohh I though because it was the mr2 even though it's exactly the same engine it might be a different intake setup because the engine bays must be slightly different but nothing a bit of custom fab won't fix I guess. |

So the back story is I bought my ss3 with a pod filter allready put in it but because it was put in in Japan I don't have the stock one. And from looking online I have heard the stock intake is much better. So I was wondering if anyone knows how much better the stock one is and also if it is worth buying on. If it is worth the cost for power gains and fuel efficiency what is the cheapest way to go about doing it. Thanks |

I took a quick video of it and as you can hear as the engine revs the ticking gets faster. Youtube Video of it My 2 questions are - from what I have read online could this be valve lash - and also if so how soon should I get it seen to as I need to go on a 4 hour trip in 2 days and I need to know asap if I need to use another car thanks for any advice |

What will you use the car for? mainly daily driving but I would like to eventually take it to the track as there are beginning to be a lot more events near me as time goes on. So the eventual plan is to daily and occasionally autocross/track for fun not seriously though. I also once a month go driving around the hills that are just out of the city as at night you can go pretty quick and that's hella fun I am aiming for it to be all around good rather then just amazing in a straight line or just amazing in corners I forget if the SS-III has SuperStrut too yep, I learnt that the hard way when one of mine needed to be fixed hahahah, cause it cost so bloody much for the parts Exhaust, intake and boost controller gets a GT4 above 300 bhp. I love mine and it's AWD. A whole different thing from my FWD (given it's only a 7a-fe). That sounds to good and easy to be true hahaha I agree, drive one before you go to sell the SS-III. You may love how the GT-Four drives over the SS-III, but at the same time you could hate it. thanks for the advice because i plan to import one from japan as its so cheap to get it over here to NZ and there is a much bigger range over there. But i will try and get behind the seat of a stock one here and test it out to see what its like. Thanks for the advice guys its greatly appreciated. I'll definitely find a GT4 to have a go with. And after looking around I like the mod ability of the 3s-gte engine performance wise as i have been wanting to do things to my SS-3 performance wise but all of the stuff you can do just tends to lower performance as everything in it just relies on everything else being stock. And so i am stuck for ideas of of fun project things that i can do to it beside just visual things. |

As the description says I currently own a SS-III with a few performance stuff done to it but none major really only: exhaust intake(yea I know its a sin cause the factory one is SO much better performance wise but I bought it without the factory one in) lowering springs OEM lsd In a few months time the cost of insuring a turbo car for me will be half of what it is now cause of my age. So I was wondering if it is worth selling the SS-III for the extra 40-50hp and 4wd if I get theGT4 I would probably plan on doing the exhaust, intake, intercooler, and a tune(with new ecu if needed I dont know anything about the ecu in these and tuning sorry) does anyone know what kind of power gains these would make as I am looking for 315hp+ at the wheels if its short what else would be needed to get it there or any better suggestions from someone that has done it before cause I am just going off posts online and don't know how true they are I have heard people say that the GT4 is just so much slower and less responsive in the lower revs then the SS-III and I was wondering how true this is Also that they are alot heavier because of the parts needed for FWD and this makes them a pain in the corners and if so what can be done to combat this and what kind of price tag am I looking at I would be full on race tracking it but i would like it to be fun and with the potential in the future to get on the track while still being road legal. any advice would be greatly appreciated Here is my SS-III (and yes I do have the legit parts to match my brand stickers hahahah) |

Dam I wish I saw this before I did mine. I took them out and just used a long strip of double sided tape all the way around between the plastic and rubber and it took me so long to fit it up to my high standards hahahaha |

I was trying to change the lights in the dash on my SS-III the other day from orange to blue and I encountered the problem of for some reason the blue light doesn't want to shine through the (I think its) coloured plastic of the letters. My basic understanding of light and coloured filters from playing around and changing the clock colour to blue is that the coloured film only lets light of a certain colour through thus making it look orange by blocking out all coloured light but orange. However I have seen somewhere in these forums someone linked to a Japanese website in full Japanese. But he had the same white SS-III dash and he was able to make the blue shine through somehow and I cant find it again for the life of me. I know there is a way to make it blue somehow but it seems to only let orange/red light through as it allows my shift light led's to shine through fine. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. The blue bulbs are actually brighter then the stock orange lights yet still dont shine through Shift light: ON OFF ONE STOCK ORANGE BULB WITH REST BLUE TWO SHOTS OF BLUE NOT SHINING THROUGH |

Hey there I Live in New Zealand but really want to get my hands on one of the high rise spoilers that comes stock on the st202 SS-III like I have cause the previous owner put a different one on that is really not my taste. I do acknowledge that if it was to come from america or somewhere like that shipping would be alot but it is so hard to find them here and I am willing to pay the ridiculous shipping if you can get to me with a rough estimate of it all up. or if anyone knows a website that is selling them that will be willing to ship here any help would be great thanks |

Torque wrench is your best friend. Impact snaps older rusty bolts eve nc whenever you are loosing them. I suggest tightening every bolt back to spec or around there. I wouldn't use an impact on anything haha. Just use one to remove my wheels or strut bolts. I dont use the impact to take off any non wheel bolts I was just using it as a reference to it being the really only speciality tool I have. I am going down to super cheap today to go pick up a 1/4" torque wrench and probably have to get a 1/2" one aswell. |

I have a 3SGE Beams in my SS-III that I presume has the stock JDM clutch in it My clutch feels like its on its last legs its not slipping in everyday use but if I do put my foot down it doesn't slip but it does stink like burnt clutch sometimes and it releases and grabs right at the very top of the clutch pedal pedal. So what I was wondering if when I do have to replace it if you have any recommendations of what clutch kit to get (as long as it can take a hammering) and whether you think its possible to do in the garage myself or if I should take it into a shop. and if it is worth getting a clutch kit with a new flywheel and the whole shibang or just get a stock clutch disc and if there are any guides on how to do it as I have never replaced a clutch before. It can definitely be done at home in the garage with the right tools. There is a thread on how to remove the trans in the forum. Check it out. If you dont get a new flywheel its recommended that you get the stock flywheel resurfaced. It shouldn't cost too much for a resurface and since the BEAMS FW is already fairly light, id just stick with that one and have it surfaced. 5SFE aftermarket clutches work, brands? search around and read other peoples experiences with certain brands. I myself have have a SPEC clutch that was on my 5S and now is being used on my BEAMS. I havent had any problem with it and it feels almost stock. I Can only seem to find one about fully removing the trans in a 7AFE is that the one you are talking about?7AFE If so do you recommend taking the whole thing out of the car or replacing it while it is still half connected and if I do remove the whole thing it should I replace anything like seals at the same time or not worry about them unless they start leaking in the future. when you say right tools what do you mean. Cause I got the standard wrenches and impact gun and stuff but when it says to pry it will I need a special tool like a pickle fork or just a standard mini crowbar I will probably need to pick up the Hanes celica guide aswell to give me some tips through it all haha. Thanks so much for the help |
