Im thinking fuel cut due to too lean or too rich. thats all i can think of. we should get the downpipe back from the shop today with the wideband installed. Our buddy drilled and tapped the oem downpipe b4 the cat for the wideband sensor so we should be able to do some tuning maybe tonight!!

aah nuthing like fireballs!!! lol.

ya the car does boot. We are getting a fuel cut at like 4500 tho. we cant figure it out but we only got it that high 2wice b.c its not tuned and we dont want it to go BOOM! but its probly sumthing in the safc that needs to be changed. hopefully manny can help us out on sunday if we have the wideband in. it should get welded tomorrow.

ya it has to be from the t's because the car was running for about 10 mins b4 it started leaking. which means it had to have burnt the lines by touching the manifold. easy fix but it still sux.

The clamps that justins using are from HTS where he got the couplers from. They are ss liner clamps and they are very strong. Not that Home depot stuff. It holds really well. Everything is coming alond smoothly. We should have it running early sunday morning. I am goint to work on his car during the week so we can fire it up together on sunday!! i need to clean up the wiring and finish off the gauges.

i know manny lol. we might just sprat that ceramic coated header paint. it is good for 2000 deg so i figure it would look better than the rust and metal. i picked up a few cans the other day. that ****s not cheap.

Just spent a good hour and a half sand blasting justins turbo and manifold. the turbo had some grease build up and the manifold had surface rust. but no more. I am going to get them ceramic coated to look better. so untill next time here are some advances on the stuff...

good luck with yours 6string.

I was wondering if anyone had ever turbo'd a convertable celica. that would be pretty sweet. i love the eclipse gs-t convertables so a celica convertable turbo would kick ass. be a good sleeper too. lol

QUOTE(6strngs @ Apr 5, 2007 - 3:39 PM)

so, if I use a boost controller will I be able to keep my boost lower than just depending on the stock wastegate?

honestly, I wouldn't mind boost 10-11 PSI, I just don't know how much my motor will be able to take and I want to take it as easy as possible on it for the first few weeks.

u cannot lower stock wastegate psi with a mbc. u can only raise it. to lower stock psi you would have to run an external wastegate and that can get pricey.
