I'm a 5th gen guy too but i like reading on this site because there is much more traffic and 5th and 6th gen celicas have so much in common. Plus most guys like myself are swapped anyways so it dosent really matter what gen you are as long as you have and want to learn about the 3sgte. I feel this site can answer your question just as good as members on alltrac.net and celicatech can but those two are also good forums. you should check them all out and read everything. |

its weird, because you think compressor surge would happen when the OP is off the gas since the compressed air is hitting the closed throttle body. The op is having surge when he's slowly rolling from a stop where there is little to no boost and the throttle body is slightly open. Right? |

Hey guys, I'm finishing up my 4th gen swap and was installing my radiator and my stock radiator fan is too fat! so im going to replace the stock unit with a spal 12 in slim fan. it will be a puller 12 volts. what size do you guys with aftermarket slim fans use? should i go ahead and get two or will one suffice? |

Option number one will work. back when i needed to replace my older 5sfe, the motor i bought did not have a factory oil cooler. it had the oil filter right to the block stock. granted i swapped my old oil cooler onto my new motor but you will be fine just to get it running. I would defiantly go with option two if you want long term reliability. |

hey everybody, i'm a 5th gen owner currently swapping in a st215 motor and i had an issue with my passenger side motor mount. this old thread i found perfectly describes my problem, http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=68361 this is my current thread on celicatech. http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthrea...72#post30251672 as you can see in this picture of where a 6th gen mounts and a picture of where my 5th gen mounts. the chassis is a little different but because of this i can't use a 6th gen mount do you guys know of anything i can do? or do i need to have a custom motor mount made? |
