If you're seeing voltage drops that bad between the negative post and the case of the starter then it's very likely that there's a bad ground between the battery and starter, run a jumper cable from the negative post to the starter case ear/bolt and see if it'll crank. Yeah at this point I'm checking everything.... Who knows what the DIY electrician did to that car.... |

Does the car have an alarm? Check the battery cables for good clean connection to the terminals and the terminals to good clean connections to the battery. It had an alarm at one point in time but I removed it because it was poorly installed, plus wires were hanging everywhere... I used my multimeter to check for voltage and I'm getting between 11.96-12.15 when I test the grounds |

When I turn the key.... It doesn't crank and at all. You expect to hear the starter turning the flywheel but nothing. |

So I was driving down the road at about 60 when the rpm's dropped and the check engine light flickered and the car just shut off. .... I coasted to the shoulder and attempted to restart it. It won't crank and when the key is turned to on position the check engine light doesn't come on with the rest of them. I know the battery, starter, fuses and alternator are all good. I also thought it may have been the main relay so I replaced it but nada. Any idea what would cause the issue I'm having? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Well that's good to know.... I'll definitely look into replacing my fuel pump... However, today I experienced a new problem. I was driving down the road at about 60 and the car just stalled .... I saw the Check Engine Light (CEL) flicker a few times, but when I went to start it again nothing. It won't even crank. I know the starter, battery, and alternator are good. Also, when I turn the key to the ON position the CEL doesn't come on. All the accessories work. I used my scan gauge to look for trouble codes and there aren't any. Any ideas on what I might be dealing with? |

I'm seeing on vividracing that there is a veilside kit for the ST202. I once posed the question to the folks at vividracing but they told me that it wouldn't work. I asked them if the body kit would fit a USDM ST204? How much of a difference is there between the models? From looking at the two, it doesn't appear to be that much of a difference. |

Well I own a code reader and it isn't throwing any codes. That's good advice I'll have to look into all of that.. I pulled one of the plugs yesterday to check for spark and I thought I saw it spark.... Odd thing is when I had the plug and wire pulled it turned over, go figure? Then I pulled all the rest of the the plugs and wires and inspected them, they made need replacing. I had the positive battery terminal removed too. After I reassembled everything it fired up... I let it run for a moment and turned it off and then attempted to start it but nada... |

So recently my car stopped wanting to start. I turn the key and the starter cranks continuously, but it won't turn over? I left my key in the ignition, turned, yesterday and it fired up. Once it's started and it's been running for a while it'll start, but now nothing? Any ideas about what I'm dealing with. I've been told the timing belt, the fuel pump, fuses, which from the ones I've checked are all good. Any help would be appreciated... |

I just bought my car, 96 GT, a couple of weeks ago. I've noticed that the RPM gauge, the temp gauges barely move, and my fuel gauge moves so slowly. Is there a way I can fix this issue short of replacing the gauges? Thanks |

Lol thank you! It turned out to be something extraordinarily simple.... the fuse was missing for the right hand headlights! But there are some issues both the temp gauge and tachometer barely move when the car is. |

How are you guys doing? I'm new to this site. I just bought my 96 Celica recently and I'm having trouble with the headlights... The low beams work just fine but when I go to turn on my high beams this happens.... any ideas on what I have going on here? There also seems to be a poorly wired alarm system in the car that looks partially removed? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. |
