I have a healthy amount of rot on my quarter panels and the lip above my driver rear wheel was rotted loose and bent in over the wheel, rubbing on my tire when I went over bumps or around corners quickly. I cut the area out and did a ****ty patch panel out of sheet metal scrap I had around and just riveted it in. It was pretty great, my car is a mess. I keep searching local junkyards hoping to find a hatch with good quarter panels I can cut to put on mine but all I've found so far is a rotted grey one and a dented up red one. Gonna go out this weekend and try another couple yards!

I'd replace mine with a JZA80, RA23 or RA28, RS Z/28, literally any Hijet ever made, and many different flashy less slow cars. However none of that is really possible for me, and I'm not trading it for anything that someone WOULD trade me for it, because mine is beat to death and it needs tons of work, and by the time I'm finished with that work I think I'll be telling a different story.

Put some new wheels on today. Car is coming along nicely. I think I'd like skirts and spats next.

Today I worked on organizing my toolbox by shadowing some of my drawers.

Added 25th anniversary badge I restored with enamel paint.

A clean toolbox is essential to life. This looks awesome dude!

Wrap?

Yeah, diy'd it with stuff not meant for cars so the most frequent comment I'd get on it was that the wrap looked cool but the wrap job was crap. Can't blame anyone for saying so, it was true lol. I've been building it as a ratrod, but I dislike flat/matte finishes quite intensely so I found the exact opposite finish, which is glossy and glittery. I was calling it "glamrat style" because it reminded me of glam rock with the over-the-top colors and finish, mixed with the creative diy ratrod spirit. Currently it's half chrome gold with rainbow tigerstripes. I was disappointed by the gold though, when spring comes around I'm going back to a crazy glittery vinyl. The first time I wrapped it it was red.

My weird pride and joy. 2006 Scion xB. This is from some time last year when it was holographic purple. No filters or effects, it was just super glittery and looked cool in the dark so I was always trying to get night shots of it. It looks like a different car right now (half chrome gold with rainbow chrome tiger stripe) but it's always a huge mess because I'm constantly doing things to it and never leave it alone for more than a few days at a time except when it's so bad outside I can't touch it. I get all my evil intentions out on this thing so I'll avoid hurting my 6gc lol.

You can get at the end of the cable by opening the gas door and unscrewing the nut that holds the pin in place, and then pulling it out from the backside of the fender panel in the driver side of the trunk behind the courtesy light. it has a simple cable end on it, you could probably make some sort of spacer (maybe a ziptie if it'll fit?) to put in there to get some tension back on the cable for the latch. I pulled mine apart when I first got my car because it was sticking and the door wouldn't stay shut. I recommend greasing it with something simple like white lithium or even some wd40 when you put it back together if you also have any issues with it sticking and the door staying open, or to prevent these issues.

Has anyone done this?

I was just going to use a cheap rocker switch for my fogs, but I found a multi-function switch at the junkyard the other day, so I nabbed it. Other than adding the wires/relay/fuse for the fogs, is there any way to operate the custom system off the multi-function switch? Does anyone have a pin diagram for that multi-function stalk?

I just did this this weekend on my 95. If you didn't take the pigtail with the switch like a lot of people do you can still do this. I didn't get a harness pigtail with mine, so what I did was pull my original switch out and set it down side-by-side with the multi-function. You can remove the clear plastic cover on the back of the base, and then there are some screws you can remove (one is held on by 4 slightly gold colored screws, the other by 2 and some clips). Unplug the harness that comes out of the actual stalk itself and swap the bases over. You'll only be able to use 2 screws to hold the old base onto the new stalk but it's fine. Now you have the correct stalk and the base still plugs into your harness. You'll notice there are two extra brown wires coming out of the multi-function stalk, and that they now go to two pins on the plug and harness that go nowhere. I have junk wiring harnesses hanging around from my old Honda so I found two wires with pins that fit, depinned them and added them to the harness in my car. Then I just wired everything together like a normal fog light kit.

Is it really hard to slam 6g Celicas or is it just not popular?

no, it's not hard. just not popular like the other car crowds.
Most of us are a function>form kind of build.

but this one's really popular in japan.

Wish we had more slammed and stances guys, would make things a lot more interesting and fun. Not bashing by any means but it seems Celica builds have bland and unimaginative these. Where as the corolla, Supra, Camry, 86, hell even the Prius guys are getting bolder and more interesting in their builds. I remember being in Japan and man some of things guys would come up with just blew my mind. All for the sake of art, the build, and what they invisioned their rides to look like. Think we to caught up in thoughts and opinions more than we like to allow ourselves to believe. Just build your ride. You wanna slam it, go for it, you wanna stretch your tires, do it. It's your build, build how you want. Oh and Megan coilovers are a great choice if you wanna go that route. Not a single complaint here about them.

That car looks pretty fun, (I think I recognize it from IG? It looks like one I saw recently that started off white). Unfortunately I'm not going to be doing the stance/slammed thing with my car, at least not for now. I'm doing a pretty vanilla 205 replica, I really need a car I can build with OEM parts after the atrocity I built my other car into lol. Going through the forum I wasn't seeing many cars lowered noticeably much and when I saw this thread it pretty much confirmed it (very few that are just buried in the ground) but wasn't sure if it was because it was difficult or just unpopular. I like the practical/sporty stance I've been seeing a lot of though, so I'll still be improving mine a bit over stock where possible.

I just measured mine, and I got 35mm from the bottom at the front of the first "S" and 37mm from the bottom at the end of the last "I" with the top of the last "I" being 44mm from the rear edge, which leads me to believe they aren't perfect from the factory but pretty close. I took some photos but I'm not sure how to add them.

I have it in my mind to do a full ST205 swap. I already have the rear drivetrain from the propshaft back and rear hubs, it's winter here and I do all my work in my driveway so I'm waiting to buy a swap but when I do it'll be a 3rd gen 3sgte with the awd box. If I buy it know I'm going to be tempted to hang the car up to do it. I've swapped in the snow before but only out of necessity and on a car I was used to wrenching on.

What exhaust are you waiting on 1994Celica? I see you have a BEAMS swap, that must be fun.

Hi everybody, I just joined the forum a couple days ago. Bought a 95 auto GT hatch in pretty rough shape and I've been replacing and fixing everything I can so far. Yesterday I replaced the waterpump on my 5SFE, man that was tight getting into with the engine still in the car. If I ever had to do that again I'd probably just drop the engine and remove the lower timing cover as well, but I didn't have a pulley remover on hand so I just pushed the lower cover out of the way.
