Good news.... Changed out the plugs and the car is tip top again. The wires looked fine but one must have been bad. Nice little tune up, 50 bucks later, and its all good. Thanx Guys |

On my way to work yesterday my usually reliable yota started acting odd. The car has very little power almost feels like I am running on 2 cylinders. The 7afe literally sounds like a subaru wrx box engine. As I am accelerating the engine feels like its working fine then drops in power then jumps in power. It died on me and woulnt start up so i pushed it into a parking spot on my way home from work. Sounded like a combustion problem to me so i got some new spark plugs replaced them. The engine started up but limped home. The old spark plugs looked like i was running rich, lotta carbon, but not too bad. The weirdest part is that the check engine light is not on. There is spark on all four wires and i wasnt reving the engine very high the last couple of days. Im stumped and dont really want to take it in to the shop. N E ideas? Injectors, destributor, timing belt??? Any help would be appreciated , -nick |

I like the original thinking. I am not convinced it would be more practical then connecting the turbo to the header but I would love to see one on a 6gc. CHeck it http://pi.b5z.net/i/u/1473169/f/Press/stshcis.pdf Integra |

I know for a fact they do have cables for a 205 45 17 so i am confident you can find some some for your tire for less than 50 bucks. I am about to upgrade to 205 50 17 with no lowering and a set of cables down here in Lake Tahoe. Dunno how easy it would be to put on the cables with a drop... might be problematic. HAVE FUN IN THE SNOW! |

I had mine replaced at 110,000 miles. I am unsure if it was the first replacement. As for the second question, just waited till it went out completely. It will slip more and more until it goes. x3 if you feel it increasingly starting to slip its time. Unfortunately it is quite an expensive / time consuming job because you must remove the front axle. |

The 4g63 is a kick ass engine. Crank walk is actually only an issue with the second gen motors. I say keep the celica for reliability, pick up a first gen in good condition, deal with any problems it may have and you still will save money over a proper swap. ......... Or keep looking for a celica all trac like every one else |

I was wondering what the largest tire I could fit on my 17 inch rims would be(stock suspension). I don't really want to lower it because of the snow but wanted to get rid of the gap i have with the low profile tires. Thnx in advance Spoonr |

Sounds like ~13 psi w/o stronger internals at a little over 220 whp is about the limmit of the 7afte. With the week point of the 7afe replaced id like to see how much boost it could handle. |

That web site had a great idea for carbon fiber. On the step 10 I used saturation instead of multiply, turned out great |

1. IMO side skirts and front/rear extensions look sweet. 2. humming? could be that the fan belt needs to be tightened not sure though. 3.If you are serious about 300 hp you will need a new engine, 3sgte all the way. |

I missed that thread some how, thnx for posting. Seems like it's turbo or nothin' for the 7a. As for me (living in the snow) I think the 4th or 5th gen all trac is looking real good, only problem now is finding one... |

The plan is to take out both cats strait though pipe, header, and a pully after smog and suspention are finished. I figure like 110 at the wheels and have a fun little car. |

I dont think i was clear enough with my question. There would be a cat on the car, just one, it would be a high flow carb certified. Visually the car would look fine because it is not uncommon for cars to have just one cat. Dunno, just trying to get around the law, legally. Too bad there are no carb certified headers for 6gcs likw there are more popular cars with just as little hp. |

My smog is due soon in california but I would like to pass with out paying some dude extra. I'd like to do some more upgrades before the two year deal. Couple questions, If i had the stock intake, one cat removed replaced with strait pipe, and one high flow cat you guys think i could pass cali smog (visual test) legally? Is true you can not pass smog with a header that is not carb legal? |
