be realistic, and set feet on ground. why do you keep insisting on manual, when changing gears and clutching will be a problem, lowered suspension and performance tires, make the ride harsher.

get a car, thats comfortable, that has ac and takes you from a to b. Once you get better, then worry about modifications.

Just because 2 of those 3(soon to be 3/3) make more torque than both your s2000 and is250 combined doesn't mean you should hate Scoot.

So, a wizard stopped and looked at my car apparently and took some pictures yesterday. By wizard I mean an old guy with long white hair and a beard. Supposedly he has a co worker that used to own one and has been looking for one for awhile now, so here's to hoping. The hardest part will be the act of selling it regardless of the price, I'll probably start crying halfway through it. By probably I mean definitely.

If his passion is cars and driving and it's one of the very few things he can do that brings him some happiness in his life then absolutely. If he uses cars as a launching pad to go to social events and meet other people then absolutely.

I'm a shut in too. If I didn't go out to the few Celica meets a year I'd literally do nothing but go to work and come home every day and stay in on weekends. I can count the number of people I talk to on a regular basis outside of work on one hand including my family. My family whom all live 8 hours or further away. I'm with Box, if someone doesn't contact me then I don't contact them. My GF is back home for school, an 8 hour drive, we talk every day. My Ex and I are friends, we talk some here and there or help each other out with things like moving furniture. An old friend from high school moved back a few years ago, lives about 10 minutes away, I haven't seen her in months.

If I didn't enjoy cars I wouldn't go to car meets, I wouldn't meet people and do things with them, I wouldn't have any social interactions. Cars aren't just cars for some of us, it's how we interact with other people.

There are days I can't drive, but on the days that I can it is one of the few things that brings happiness to me. Cars and music were and still are my biggest passions, they are things I can do alone. My plan was to become an ASE Master Technician just like my uncle, but now that's just not going to happen. I used to go out and play music, but now I can't. I can still play at home, but I have to stand to play since I play synthesizers on a 3-tier stack and can do that for maybe 30 minutes at most before I have to quit and take a break. I've meant to look into finding a comfortable chair that sits high enough and doesn't impede playing, but so far haven't found anything off the shelf. Guitar and bass I might as well sell since the string pressure hurts like a mf'er and it never did before. There's a reason every car I've ever owned has been an enthusiast vehicle, it's because I love driving and cars. When this nonsense first started last year I'd drive the Celica and Miata on this one stretch of highway often between 1-4 in the morning since you never saw anyone else, just to get my mind off things. Between the time of the Miata getting totaled and the Firebird being so obnoxiously loud and now inoperable it's something I've really missed doing. The reason in buying the Firebird was it something I could live with having an automatic as I've always liked the second gen and have wanted one. In my mind it was something I'd never be able to own, at least not any time soon, so when it came up for sale with the work that was done in my price range I bought it. What I get for thinking with my heart and not my mind.

There's really not any I can do, it's why mom ended up 100% disabled and trust me she much rather still be working as a registered nurse making a small fortune and not living in pain every day on top of that. It's why I lost my job and can't find another, the doctors can't get it under control for me to live a normal life anymore. Trust me I've been trying to think of something that'll work rather than apply for disability. My days consist of getting about two hours of sleep every other day while my body burns, aches, stings, and stabs from head to toe. I can't stand or sit for more than a few minutes at a time without having to get up and shift around, when I do manage to sleep I wake up hurting more because staying in place for just a couple of hours makes everything scream. I barely eat anymore because I'm just never hungry anymore and the smell of meat cooking makes me sick. Sodas burn like hell, and anything spicy is much worse than what it really is and I'm someone that likes spice.

As far as the car goes I'm not hoping to make a profit at this point, I'm hoping to break even at best and willing to accept I'll probably have to lose a grand on it. You know how it is though, you could list your S2000 for dirt cheap and you'd still get a bunch of jerks lowballing you. That's also why it's OBO and not firm, and given my particular circumstances it didn't hurt to waste a month fielding the market. Being I'm no longer employed is why it's so important to try and get as much back as possible. If I were still working making $10 an hour + commission(not great but was set to make more, and not bad for someone younger) it wouldn't matter as much. Hell I'd just sideline it and keep it as a project and get something else. Yes I agree with you though, it's time to sell it and move on and get something else even if it's not exactly what I want. I only hurt myself the more it sits from this point.

In fairness this thread is for anything and not just non-6gc cars, I should know since I'm the creator. I admit I've used it as a place to vent because if I didn't I'd probably just end up getting to a point where I'd do something self-destructive. I have nowhere else to just get things off my chest, I've never been one to be social in the real world anyway but now I'm cut off because of this. One friend from high school won't talk to me anymore since I can't be in a band with him anymore, the others didn't bother communicating unless I initiated so I got tired of it and now I haven't spoken to anyone in ages. I've maintained a relationship with one friend that's cared enough to keep me in her life. I don't say things around home because my mom feels bad enough that she passed it on to me. I wouldn't wish this **** onto anyone even for a day, but maybe if that were the case they'd understand. The old saying you don't know a man until you walk a mile in his shoes is nothing but the truth. Before this happened to me I could somewhat understand what my mom was going through, but until it took ahold of me too I really just had no idea how bad it really was. I'll try and keep things less like my personal diary, but you'll have to excuse the occasional outburst. Everyone else is free to share what's going on too in their life, and they've always have been.

Check compression across the cylinders when cold and when hot at idle. We just had a 200K mile 01 CRV in (I know, totally different engine) that had a rough idle and somewhat of a miss at idle but otherwise seemed to run fine. Cold compression on all cylinders was good, warmed the engine up and checked to see what cylinder wasn't doing it's fair share, then checked compression while hot on that cylinder and it was way low, like struggling to get to 45psi at idle. If you revved the engine you could get it to slowly climb up to about 100, but still below the cold result of 150 and the next cylinder at 160 when hot. Yanked the head and it had a burned exhaust valve, not uncommon. Just something you can check out yourself if you're inclined to do so, it may at least give you some insight into the issue and help prepare your asshole for the raping.

Since we're trying to get this thread back on track.... Pretty sure my OBS needs shifter bushings. Not sure if I should just replace the bushings or just replace the bushings and put in a short throw shifter.
