Zooks, this isn't a part out. These were just some extra parts I had collected for my vert, so I don't have anything except what I've listed. Prices dropped on all remaining items. Still have carpet and some weatherstripping. |

I sold the '96 Vert in March and bought a 350Z, and my husband's been giving me some crap about all the parts still sitting in the basement. So here's what I've got to get rid of: Decorative weatherstrip that goes in between the OEM sideskirts on the hatch/coupe (not the vert) and the body. I had a pair of modified OEM hatch skirts on the vert but never got around to putting these on. Black. Rear window/top weatherstrip parts. There are in really good shape. These are the big pieces that the rear windows fit up inside when the top is up. Only selling as a pair. Weatherstrip. I have no idea where this piece goes - I can't remember, and I don't know if this is the left or the right side. *SOLD* Black carpet. Came out of a vert, very nice shape. Don't know if it will fit the hatch or the coupe. EDIT - someone posted in the thread that it will fit the coupe/hatch but there will be gaps in the rear by the seats. I don't know how large of a gap. So, only recommended for the vert. *SOLD* 2 rear windows with VERY nice weatherstripping. As you know if you have a vert, the only way to get this weatherstripping is to buy the windows to the tune of $300 each - it's not sold on its own. *SOLD* Venom 400 Module. Tuned for an automatic trans, but I heard that Venom will tune it for a manual for you if you send it back in. I'm not sure what this really does, but I had it installed and the car did feel quite a bit faster. My butt dyno approves, but I have no idea about real numbers. Venom says that it will not make the car's check engine light come on, and it did not. *SOLD* Curren tails. Excellent shape. No harnesses, but you don't need them. Just unscrew your bulbs and put them in the correct places in these. No cracks. *SOLD* HID headlight kit bought from Culpable. Worked when taken off - don't have the car anymore to get a picture. 6000K - very slightly blue but not too noticeable. Bulbs in good shape. Ballasts look good too. *SOLD* Misc antenna parts. My memory is hazy on these - I think I got thse to put a 7th gen antenna on. *SOLD* Injen intake. Good shape, filter needs to be cleaned. *SOLD* Rear window to body weatherstrip parts. These are in good shape. Only one side has the tiniest little bit of separation. Only selling as a pair. Let me know if anyone needs any of these. Thanks! Samantha |

I had the same thing happen - mine turned out to be my headlight switch. My battery was being drained even with the headlights off. Replaced the switch, no more dead battery. |

You have to cut some of the bracing out of the underside of the skirt, the entire length, since the vert is super-reinforced along its lower edge where the skirts go. Also, the holes will not line up at all, so you do need to drill new holes. I went with just three, one in each wheelwell, and one in the middle right under the door. A little plastic putty, sanding and painting, and you can't see the screws. The stock regular side skirts will not fit the vert without that backside channel modification. Samantha |

Toyo- I know it's not the color you wanted, but you might want to consider 6gcelikas used top. The advantage to a used top is that the holes are already poked in the correct place in the rear window panel - it should be a snap to install one that's already been installed. Just a thought. njcc - I got my top from www.convertibletopguys.com. The Haartz stayfast canvas tops they sell are Robbins tops. They also have cheaper options like vinyl and a plastic rear window option if you are on a budget. I don't know if they do custom colors - it's worth an email asking them. Also, at convertibletop guys, they include a step by step instruction guide. I found it to be better than the information in the shop manual, but it still leaves some room for error. Samantha |

My husband and I did my top ourselves, and we said that next time, we'll have it done at the shop no matter what it costs. The tricky part is the rear window and how the rear-most bow has to be lined up. And we couldn't get the guide wires off to replace them because they're riveted in and we couldn't locate any of the right size rivets in our time frame. Luckily they weren't too bad, and we were able to keep the originals on. Ours actually came out nice, but it took two days to do it. Actually it took about 12 hours to do it, then another 4 to undo it, then another 6 do it so that the rear bow was right. I bought my top from Robbins - they are the nicest ones that I found. They're about $80-90 more than the others, but I decided that I didn't want to cheap out on something that took that much time to do. I thought about making a how to, but we were both so pissed off at the car (and each other) by the time we really got into it, we stopped taking pictures. Samantha |

I've got OEM hatch skirts on my vert. There was definately modification needed for those - I would assume that these would need modification also. The holes and plastic pins that attach the black stock vert skirts are not in the same place as the ones for the OEM hatch skirts. |

I bought a set of DCW front splitters for the Celi off Dustin a few weeks ago, and then right after I got them, a 350Z made me take it home, so I have no need for the splitters anymore. My husband is going to drive the Celi for a while, but he doesn't like the splitters. Nothing's been done to them, just took them out of the box and held them up to the car. At first I was a n00b and thought they didn't fit, but it turns out I was actually holding them against the car wrong. No girl jokes, please. Looking to get $160 shipped to anywhere in US. Pic of the splitters: Pic of my new Z: Samantha |

I've got the ones with the black faces from procarparts, can see pics here in this thread. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=42984&hl= I didn't remove the needles, the faces just slide overtop of the existing needles, and I used thin double sided tape (like carpet tape) to hold them down to the old gauges. Took about an hour from start to finish including wiring. Samantha QUOTE(stevest202 @ Nov 2, 2007 - 5:15 PM) QUOTE(94CelicaDragon @ Oct 31, 2007 - 7:00 PM) Since we're on the topic of changing gauge backround's, I have a stupid question. The needle's, rpm, mph, temp and fuel, How do those come off? do they slid off? Im just wondering cause I had a bad experience with a previous car that I had, the **** snapped off. iused the two spoon method one either side of the needle center and gently prise up equally and if you take the needle stop out first your needle srings back mark where it stop and replace in same position pull forward and replace stop it worked for me anyway |

QUOTE(purepunishment @ Sep 19, 2007 - 6:56 AM) i have a 6 speaker setup in my car. what size tweeters go in the stock location? The ones in mine were 1". I just replaced them with some CDTs last week. The mounting bracket for the stock ones has a screw that goes through the bracket into the back of the tweeter. My new tweeters didn't have any way to screw into the back of them, so I just epoxied the new tweeter to the stock bracket and it works fine. I imagine you could go with the 3/4 inch ones also if you had them. Samantha |

Nice car Coom! I bought a Del Sol new back in 93 - it was a blue Si. It was completely stock when I sold it in '99 to buy my Celi 'vert! I loved it except for an annoying "thunk" in the targa every time I turned. Samantha |

I can confirm that the oem hatch/coupe sideskirts do not fit the 'vert without some modification. I bought a set of OEM hatch/coupe skirts from madmods last year for my 'vert, and in order for them to fit the 'vert, you have to remove some of the bracing on the back of the skirts. Doesn't look like it's too hard to do (mine came already done since they were on madmods' vert already). They also don't snap into the holes that are there for the stock black 'vert sideskirts - I had to screw/rivet them to the car and then cover up the screws/rivets. The sets of skirts are both the same length (the 'vert ones come in two pieces per side, and the hatch/coupe ones come in one piece) but I haven't tried to mount the 'vert skirts on the hatch so I can't say for certain that they will fit. The good news is that the 'vert skirts are small enough to ship regular UPS, they're not oversize so shipping isn't too bad if any gets a set just to play with. I sent my 'vert oems across the country to madmods for $12 shipping with UPS. Samantha |

Just one word of advice about whatever brand you get - most of them mount with a suction-cup bracket that loses it's "suck" after a period of time in an alternately hot/cold car. Even the smaller units are heavy enough to put stress on the suction cup mount. I've got a Garmin c330, have had it for about 2 years, and have had to replace the suction cup mount twice. Finally went with a mount that just sits on your dash - sort of like a beanbag with feet. Other than the mount, I love the Garmin! Samantha |
