Decided to go with option 2... Modify my current setup. Which is only TRD 4 way adjustable shocks . Throw a set of TEIN springs and TRD top mounts to improve the handling. |

On December 25th I was short of presents and decided to order a set of Tein SS coilovers for my faff, hoping to just make it with old pricing. No luck! Got a refund today cos’ prices went up during Christmas apparently. Current price of 2k is off the scale for me. So I’m left with two options now: 1. Start hunting for a set of used coilovers 2. Modify my current setup. Which is only TRD 4 way adjustable shocks . I find 4th setting quite hard so was considering throwing a set of TEIN springs and TEIN or TRD top mounts to improve the handling. I’ve had tein springs fitted on my ST202 before and TBH didn’t find much improvement in handling. Maybe cos’ I had stock shocks on…. What do you guys think? Anyone with a similar setup? Car is not a daily driver and I enjoy hard cornering, was also hoping of occasional track days this year. BTW, I already have a Whiteline ARB, Cusco underbrace and poly bushes. Thanks! |

Down pipe, exhaust (i prefer 2.5" Mongose), Induction with straight intake, ***Electronic Boost Controller***, Front mount intercooler, upgraded ECU and little servicing, is a good safe way to go over 300bhp! Cheaper too ![]() |

I'm looking to upgrade the ignition on my Celica, in hope of more power, of course And I found two ignitions that (probably) suit 3SGEs: 1 - Crane Cams HI-6TRC CD Ignition, recommended by 6gc.net at a retail of $330 http://6gc.net/parts/134 2 - HYPERPAK ignition for 3SGE at $240 http://www.erd.co.nz/products/toyota.html Not quite sure which is best. Any thoughts? Thanks! |

Enjoy! Do you want me to send the report to you, so you can enjoy it too? ![]() |

The facts weren't posted by me and to access the page you have to register with a UK forum. I didn't measure the car. But, I know for a fact that UK, Jap and other factories have production lines specifically set for the needs of the country’s population. Thus, is the difference. It would be cheaper to make all cars with same engines and in black colour... It is hypocritical to deny one difference when there are so many others ![]() P.S. I'm not trying to be rude btw, just defending my point ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(QuintinGT @ Apr 28, 2007 - 11:40 AM) Im looking at a set of wheels and they are 17x8 et 35 i have a lowered car. the offest guide recomends an et 0f 40 for those specs. I was wondering, I will probably be rolling my rear fenders, would that allow that size of wheel to fit? Hi. You should be fine. I have bought a set of 18s 7.5 width and 45 offset. They sit too much inside. I'm looking to get 10mm front spacers and 20mm rear. That would make the offset 35 and 25. You can go further outside, even on the lowered car, but might need to fold the arches. Hope that helps! |

QUOTE(doGGy @ Apr 28, 2007 - 5:08 PM) Its will be a straight swap without any problems. check Maikl profile - he fitted GT4 brakes on his SSIII. SSIII and GT4 (basicly all ST202 with superstrut) share the same structure of the front suspension components, and they can be interchargible between ST202 and ST205 without any problems. Exept springs are different on ST205 (they are stiffer, and have a little bit different spring ration) Thanks man! Was almost sure it is the scenario but needed another opinion ![]() I'll ask Maikl if he is happy with his conversion. So the Lower Ladder Frame (Cusco, etc.) should also fit, correct? Thanks again! |

Hi all. I have recently checked out front brakes on my mate's newly bought GT4 and really liked what i've seen - bigger disks and much bigger calipers - tempting ![]() Has anyone ever tried fitting st205's front brakes to a st202 with a superstrut?? Hey. I bought a 1994 Celica this summer and have started upgrading it when I realized I've got no ABS! The whole thing makes me sad as there's nothing worse than not being able to stop in time. What to do? Ideally, I'd prefer to fit an ABS from a scrap car, but heard that it won't be so easy and cheap... Is an upgaded brake set (disks, calipers, hoses) the way out? Anything else you would advice? Thanks guys! |

Possible the rear engine mount has become worn and is allowing the engine and gearbox to move about a little. This would cause some funy knocks. You would have to visually inspect it to see if it was in poor condition or not. Haven't inspected mine tho, yet... ![]() |

Hey guys. Wanted to ask your opinion on one troubling issue with my Celica.. When I’m going below 20mph over bumps, I feel dull Clunk/Knock noise coming from below my feet (and passenger's too). Such noise disappears over 20-25 mph. Have asked some people about this, but keep getting different opinions. ![]() When I lifted front side to check brake pads, couple of small pieces of red rubber/foam/plastic material fell off. My guess is - bump stops. Another thing is, when I release the clutch roughly (usually on the 2nd gear) I sometimes feel a noise coming from below my feet, sort of a "kick". Feels like something is loose... Or could both noises be cause by same fault??? I'm pretty sure shocks work fine. Was difficult to test tho cos they are very stiff - Super strut suspensions. Would appreciate any views on this issue. Thanks in advance! Taras |
