So on my 94 Celica has od1. For those who don't know 94-95 have od1 ports, it's not until 96 that ob2 became a standard in all vehicles that are sold in the US. (Probably everywhere else too, not sure).
So here is my dilemma I have a snap-off solus scan tool that reads od2 which I use for work. I also have an adapter that supposedly connects Toyota ob1 to ob2. I say this cause the adapter doesn't plug last time I tried it, maybe I am not putting in enough force. So regardless of the scanner, I want to know if anybody has done it successfully. If so how were you able to accomplish it? Did it need an external ground or additional power through the cigarette outlet? Any info will be appreciated.

Hey update time!!!!
other than being lazy when it comes to updating. I have been daily driving my celica with a few month now with some new add ons and new problems.
I have been fix stuff like wiring at starting to weather at the connector and coolants hose. But still have an annoying idle problem when driving it for a long time and when it hot outside. Replaced the idle control valve, made sure idle screw was properly adjusted. But I think either two things my coolant has leaks where air comes through or my timing needs to be adjusted. Anybody run through that same problem???
But in the meantime I have this annoying issue cosmetically speaking with my headlight gaskets that keep wanting to come off. I lost the clips that held them in place. Does anybody know what to do about them.

Update:
I was able to get my hands on my friends miata trunk and have a little bit of bad news or expected ones depending on what you like. The miatas trunk is smaller by 8 inches so four on each side. Here is how the length is its 49in long the celicas and 41 in long the miatas

I agree, i am going to ask a guy at school on friday about his trunk width on his miata but also check online if there is any info about. My plan if the sizes are close to buy a cheap on ebay and see any difference.

So i have been doing some searching for a ducktail for my coupe, haven't really found anything for it. Which got me thinking about the miata which is similar in size and and you can get a ducktail for it from different companies so i am wondering if anybody has done it before or has attempted to do it. Also if some one has a miata could they measure the width of there trunk. Thanks

Yea i notice it had like rtv type material when i got the new engine but i usually go with the gasket and the right stuff never leaks with but expensive so i wanted to go with rtv this time
So @box i check the oil pan that i going to put on today (spare one i had) today fix it. It was a bit warp check with straight edge pretty smooth a few areas had some what of a gap not to worry about it. I am going to use the gasket to make up for it and right stuff. so hopefully dont have to tear down for the four time during the weekend. Also clean up the pan thats on her and check how bad it is thanks for the help.

So i order a oil pump assembly never replace it when the engine was out dumb mistake
@Box my oil light would only turn on when hot even after replacing oil sending unit and checking oil also my idle would drop.
So waiting for the part to come in and took off all vacuum hose to clean them for now will replace them in future
Want to make sure my evap and egr system are good as well as eliminating any problem with low oil pressure. After that recheck my timing.
Will check my wires at connector

So before redo my timing on my Celica wanted to ask you guys that have the 5sfe engine do you or have you ran into the issue where the oil light comes one or flickers at idle (since it started will turn off under acceleration). Also the idle is a bit lower than normal.
For some backup story is swap engine got it for what it seemed to be running good but later on found it was burning oil the oil light turns on only at idle but oil was low (none on dipstick). put more oil and replaced cam seal redid timing and put it to 10 degrees for it was at 9 degrees.
Oil light comes on only when the vehicle is warm, not cold.
any suggestion thank you

thinking of two things
redoing timing and oil pressure relief valve is stuck open

So I ask the part guy and to my horror, they discontinued those parts frown.gif frown.gif was wondering if anybody had those clips its for the alternator and oil sending unit PM if you are interested in either selling or maybe giving them away thanks for the help.

Update time
Good news for me but really bad news for a normal person.
I have been driving the celi for a month now have found some issue:
here goes egr was clogged
cam seal was replaced
exhaust was fix

still, need to solve and fix these things
Oil light comes on when the car is warm at idle - I am thinking of replacing the oil pump on her and rechecking my idle before that.
burning oil so will be replacing valve seal guides and hopefully, that takes care of it as well will try to buy a Toyota PCV valve
Also, need new tires because the ones I have on suck when it comes to grip in the rain.
