If you're willing to ship the car, TCS Motorsports in Kentucky specializes in MR2/Celica engine swaps.

If you want a good base gen2 3SGTE, I have the one I just pulled out of Stacy's car. It needs totally resealed, but it ran good.

Seriously. If you want it, I'll let it go cheap to you.

Damn. That sucks Devin. I'm sorry your drive was so ****ty.

Have we considered a clogged up fuel filter? Maybe it takes time to pull the gunk up from the bottom of the filter before it starts to effect driveability....

Sorry also for missing the meet in general. Didn't want to be spreading pink eye with my kids that can't keep their hands to themselves.

Not to sidetrack the discussion, but I'm wondering how hard swapping that G16 would be into my 205....

Motive Video is up at 500whp and just broke the 10s with their Yaris with relative ease, it just makes me wonder.

Just thinking about the difference in power delivery between the 205 and 215 3SGTE, I can only imagine what a 20 year difference in technology could make.

The wife wants one, so we're trying to figure out how to make that happen.

Truth be told, I want a Circuit Edition, but caring for that dry carbon roof scares the **** out of me.

If I really get the urge to chop one up, it will be a semi-rusty non-WRC from europe.

But I already have a rusty ST185 to chop up, so I most likely will be getting my energy out there.

I'm keeping my mods reversible, but mine didn't come with a stock suspension or exhaust, so I couldn't turn it back to 100% OEM without great effort, which I'm not willing to put in.

I"m not going to go and chop up the body for a rocketbunny kit, but I'm not going to stress about the rolled fenders and little things.

It's going to get beat up on track anyway.

Slow down Chee...

OP: Start with shifter bushings

If that doesn't help, and/or your gear selector ON the trans has excessive play, you should replace the "Sugar Cube"

After that, I would look at the shifter cables, THEN get to more labor intensive work....

I saw your video Alex.

If the ECU is firing the plugs right, then your only real remaining avenue is fuel. Your wideband was showing 14-16, wasn't it?

Will is start on starting fluid?

It's calling itself a 7gen owners group. I won't try to join.

Post pics here if you can!

I thought I was losing it for a minute... I was like, "I was JUST with Luke, I think I would recognize him in a photo, even if he is out of focus"

I would look at the AR or AZ engines out of the Scion TC. More torque than the ZZ out of the 7g celica.

Either way, you are in unorthodox swap territory. It may be cheaper just to get another cheap daily, until you can figure out your situation with the Celica.

I would go with an MZ for a build like this. You want reliability, but you can't go to Autozone and pick up replacement parts for a BEAMS.

Plus, with what you are planning to do, it seems like your formula is backwards: you'll need more TQ than HP. BEAMS are rev happy, but not so torque-y, you may have issue with the extra drag of a 4WD drivetrain.

In the end, it's your car, your $$, and a cool build either way. I can't wait to see which direction you go!
