I believe the car just experienced little jerking. Really didn't look at the rpm when it died but the car did havea major slow down like a snail and no acceleration at all. Forgot what one of my buddies did but he took out one of the spark plug wires, held it against the motor as i tried to crank it and there was no spark? If that helps? |

I got a 94 Toyota Celica ST I think it is. 1.8l only. Nothing special, all stock. I was driving on the road one day and it died while I was driving. Couple weeks prior to that, I replaced the old altenator to a new one due to a burning spell from the altenator. Tested and fully charged the battery and it was still good. A fried of mine thinks it's not getting no spark at all and it might have something to do with the coil or something like that? Can anyone throw some ideas as to what I need to do to get this fixed? Any helpful ideas/suggestions will be much appreciated. |

I have a 1994 Toyota Celica 1.8l ST, and is in need of a new or good working condition crank shaft pulley. Not quite sure what you call it on these cars but I guess it's either called a crank shaft pulley or harmonic balancer. PM or email to menglorsgst@hotmail.com. |

Thanks for the input guys. Shows how much I paid attention to what belt it was. Long story but the car was given to me as a gift, and the guy that had it before me, I'm very sure he never changed out the belts. Since that is the case, looks like I'll be replacing both belts. |

My sister normally drives the Celica and one day she came to me telling me that the steering is really hard on the car now. I'm off work today so I finally had some time to look at it and this is what I found. So now I need to know where's the best place to buy a whole new timing belt kit. Are Autozone's ok or am I better off buying off from the expensive Toyota Dealership? Any help is appreciated. |

Okay, it was the bypass switch. I got off of work and gaved that a try and now the shift knob can move only when I press on it. Did something come loose to cause this problem? What do I need to do to not have to use a flat head to tap it down so I can shift into gears? |

Yes, the car does start. Bypass switch on the upper left side of the shifter assembly? Starting the car in neutral? I would if the shifter wasn't locked up. I'll have to take a look at that once I get out of work. |

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong spot but wondering if I can get some help on this. My wife took the car to work and it was fine but when she got off of work and was getting ready to leave, the shift knob wouldn't move to any of the gears at all. The car is a 94 Celica Automatic. One of my buddy suggested that maybe it's the spring of some sort in the shift knob that's causing that problem as he once had a similar problem. We doodle around with it for awhile and still no luck. Now I am here to ask if you guys might have another better solution to this issue. I checked the transmission fluid and seems to be good. Car runs fine, it just wont shift. Any ideas to fix this issue? |

The windshield wipers (both) decided to stop working this morning after awhile while I was driving. The windshield in the back still works though. It just stopped right in a upward position on the windshield. Is this a common problems for all 94 celicas, 1.8l? I checked every single fuse and they all seem to be in working condition. All that is left are the windshield wiper motor, or maybe there is a short in one of the wires or maybe the switch. I do not know what is causing the problem. I am guessing that the windshield wiper is located by the firewall on the passenger side inside the engine bay so correct me if I am wrong. As of now, I am just driving around with the windshield wipers stuck in an upward position and they will not go down. Any ideas for this solution would be helpful. |

Long story short, wife got into the accident with her celica. Everything seems okay except both air bags deployed and windshield shatterd. Anyone know how much this will cost to get it fixed? If it's easy enough, I rather just do it myself. It was a 94 Black Celica st, 1.8l. Thanks Bumped* -some pictures and it's a st then b/c it's only a 1.8l. |

WOW! Nice drawing, you should get into those jobs where you sketch up cars for companies. Maybe they make good money? Wouldn't hurt to try? Can you imagine just sitting and drawing up car models and ideas all day for a living? LOL |

Okay, I finally got some pictures of the Celica. I just waxed the car a week ago but it's already dirty. Sorry for the large pictures, I'm trying to figure out how to resize them. Here's the engine bay. It's dirty but not as dirty as when we first got it. I cleaned it up a little bit. And for those who couldn't figure out where the turbo was on my eclipse. It's connected from the intake to the intake pipe/hose. It's still the stock turbo T25. It's starting to show some very early stages of shaft play so I'm planning to buy the Evo Big16g turbo soon with the intercooler and so on to complete the build. I'm looking for a high or low 13sec. car. That'll be good enough for me. |

haha, first off, gstjoker is just my screen name and the gst stands for the model of my eclipse. Gst are the turbocharged FWD model while GSX are the AWD turbocharged model of eclipse. RS and GS model are just junkies. Since all of you can't seem to figure out where the turbo is I'll go get some picture of it and some picture of the Celica. |

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. Just thought I introduce myself. I didn't even know there were so many people in favor of the 6gen Celicas. From reading around the forums, I found something funny and it was the fact that quite the few people of the owner of the 6gen Celicas are their wives. I guess I belong here too since my wife also owns a 6gen Celica. I have no idea what model it is though as to the GT and so on... Anyways, I'm on here to read some more info about the 6gen Celica and know more about it. I personally love it for it's gas mileage and for some reason on the highway going at the same speed as my car, it just slowly passes me as I fall behind. My wife owns a automatic 1994 Toyota Celica while I own a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST. Gotta love turbo!!! |
