QUOTE(K-ESD @ Jul 4, 2007 - 8:20 PM) I highly don't recommend using splice connectors, your wires will corrode very quickly and eventually break. Solder, electrical sealant grease + shrink tubing my friend. According to the EWD, doing this mod would make all of your park lights flash when you put your turn signal on.... unless you cut the sidemarker wire and connected the light end on the front turn signal. K-ESD is correct about the blinkers flashing. Instead of cutting though, a diode could be used, as should always be done when connecting two power sources to one load device to prevent back flow of electricity. Solder though, should not be used for automotive wiring as it can trap moisture that eventually may corrode a connection from within, it may reduce the electrical conductivity of the stranded wires, and it will reduce the flexibility of a joint making it more prone to failure due to vibration. Uninsulated butt connectors can be used with shrink tube for a weather tight connection. |

QUOTE(Rayme @ Mar 28, 2007 - 10:59 AM) you could wire the button to the wireless remote and put the IR led somewhere in the arm rest where its in constant view of the deck.. sound easy too I did this to one of my Volkswagens, just pulled a steering wheel from a newer car at the junkyard that had the buttons and then I bought this device on ebay for $30. |

You should first check to see that your battery and charging system are working properly, your local auto parts store will do this for you if you don't have the equipment. Once it is determined that they are not the problem, the best way to find a parasitic voltage loss would be to remove the positive battery terminal and place one probe from your multitester or ammeter on the terminal and the other on the battery post where the terminal was. With the key off you should see a very small draw, usually less than one amp, for devices with memory such as the clock, radio, alarm if installed, etc. If your reading something higher than that, pull out then replace each one of your fuses one at a time, making note of the reading on your meter as each one is removed. When you see a sudden drop, make note of which fuse was removed and you now know which circuit your problem is contained within and can now find the short or the faulty device. |

QUOTE(trdproven @ Nov 6, 2006 - 7:32 AM) when I bought my car used, the terminal that connects to the positive snapped and broke off. this is the part that contacts with the battery. Basically now it is not gripping firmly around the battery but just touching it. From the beginning I knew it was brittle because when I loosened and then tightened it, it would nod up and down. After a while we all know when metal gets bent multiple times especially in opposite directions, they snap off. How can I go about changing this? anyone have any steps or what type to get? You can purchase the actual OEM replacement ends if you'd like here or you could get a generic one at your local auto parts store. They'll have two types, one that is just the end clamp like the link and one that has short pigtails attached with usually a 4 gauge set screw connector and 12 gauge crimp connector. Any of the three should only take a few minutes to install but if your no comfortable cutting your harness get the OEM one. |

QUOTE(klm317 @ Oct 19, 2006 - 8:47 PM) ... i just don't know which is a better set-up. Also, is there any other way i could wire up the dual voice coil? Neither is really "better" than the other, it just depends on what you want to do. The dual voice coil gives you more flexibility for install aptions because it allows you to run it at 8 ohms if wired in series or 2 ohms wired parellel whereas the single voice coil sub can only present a 4 ohm load. Without knowing which model amp you have it's tough to say which one would work best, but its probably around 400 watts bridged mono at 2 ohms which would give 200 watts per voice coil which is more that the 160 rms suggested by Infinity. And if these are anything like the Kappa Perfect subs, they're pretty easy to blow, so I'd stick with the single voice coil. |

Just use a dual fillament bulb, get a socket for an 1157 bulb at the salvage yard and wire the lower wattage side to come on when your headlights are on and leave the rear fog light wiring as it is |
