QUOTE(ice23q @ Oct 2, 2006 - 3:19 AM) i will look at the part numbers for you so you can get what i have.. I used ARGO rods for a 5sfe.. and 3sgte cp pistons.... (might be oversized but ill check the invoice).. What work are you gonna do to the head..??? What STANDALONE are you gonna use... A piggyback is just NOT gonna cut it i dont think... Also keep in mind the Dyno time to tune this monster. I have had 6 hours dyno time already... I have no idea about the standalone yet. for know its just the block work. later on when i have more cash ill do the head work, so i have no idea about what needs to be done. all i want is 320 hp at the wheels, just for a daily driver, lol. |

QUOTE(ice23q @ Oct 1, 2006 - 3:00 AM) Kato you need to have 5s rods and 3sgte pistons...yes they fit.... I dont think that the stock 3sgte pistons will work since the bore on the 3sgte is 86 mm and the stock bore on the 5s block is exactly 87.1 mm, and since i need to bore the block i need pistons that are 87.5 mm like the cp pistons. That makes the 3sgte pistons way to small!! I have heard from somewhere that the best way to build a 2.2 turbo stroker is a 5S block, 5S crank bored out to fit 3sgte rods, 3sgte rods and 87.5 mm cp forged pistons. I dont know if thats true but someone here help me out i need the info asap. Also i forgot to mention that the top of the 5s rod is bigger then the 3sgte rods so 3sgte pistons wont fit stock 5s rods, then againe correct me if im wrong. |

damn im new here and cant figure out how to post the right way lol but anyways here it is againe Hey Ice im new here but if been reading most of the posts here about the 5sgte. I have wanted to do it for the while and have most the parts, 5s block, 5s crank, 3sgte rods. one thing im trying to figure out is about the pistons. i Know that CP makes 87.5 mm forger 5s pistons with a 3sgte design and my question is will these 5s pistons fit onto the 3sgte rods, or do i need to have them machined? Also about the crank it needs tp be grinded off about .177 to fit the 3sgte rods and griding off that much will weeken the crank alot as i was told by my machine shop teacher. do i need to get the crank cryogeniclly treated so its stonger? if so where can i get that done at? |
