$3,800? From the looks of the car, does it even run? Seems like a decent deal for a swap that runs with no issues, but the looks of the car are going to drive away folks. Got any videos of it running?

QUOTE (Valo666 @ Apr 21, 2011 - 1:19 PM) *
wow....i was really tired last night..i was thinkin of a caliber STR4 when i was thinkin of the drivetrain. Still either way, gonna be a PITA to find a RWD tranny that will bolt up to it.

If I use a miata tranny I can make it RWD.

My goal is to get away from a Rotary engine. I'm thinking the DISI (MS3) engine or I hear the FS is cheaper and can be built nicely, but I like the nice power from the DISI already.

anyway, What about the wiring harnesses. Does Doc out in SC/GA still do those? If he can mesh those like he does on the celica, that might be a winner of a route for this project

Alright so I'm thinking about looking in to doing a project car. I like the look of an RX-8, but the reliability and the building option of a Mazdaspeed3 engine.

My question is how do I research how to look this up. I really have no clue. I figured I'd ask here because so many people have researched and started threads about how to do something. Since this is my first idea, I figured I'd ask the Pros (6gc) where a good starting point might be.

I am a member of Mazdas247.com, but they are not nearly as helpful(what I've seen so far) as everyone on this board. That is why I am posting my question. her.

I appreciate the help and any advice/ knowledge bestowed on this idea.

Thanks

Why would you be selling this gem after 500 miles?

mileage seems really high. this could mean it was more of a commuter car and the owner wasn't gettin' it constantly, which is good, but idk about 4 year old cars with 70k+ on them.

looks like it's jacked up in the rear.

interior is six hells of ugly.

fwd. how awesome is it right now? because it's not going to change.

it is a nice looking car overall. not too boy-racer or boring...a nice balance.

they are pretty quick. i guy i know does pretty well in auto-x with his, but it has some suspension mods.

price seems good, to my limited knowledge.

yeah me concerns are mileage, but had to be lots of highway to really get that high in 3 years... It looks weird cause the front tires are 215/45/17 adn the rears are 215/50/17 so that neesd to be fixed.... Drove it today and handling was amazing and seemed to drive great. THe old owner put in a CAI which is touching the splash gaurd causing a noise every now and then(atleast what I believe it is) I am worried about the turbo adn the life of it. I need to find a mechanic around here that is familiar with turbo's to check it out cause I don't want the car to blow up... but clutch catches well and brakes are good.

Just ask Dr Tweak. He sells conversion kits for about 500 bucks.

ouch. I'm guessing those are upgraded parts.

find someone parting out a GT and buy the whole rear disc assembly. should run you about $250-350

I think the 500$ includes parts and labor which isn't too bad a deal actually. It is kinda hard to find parts. 90-99 Celicas fit with no problem.

I would go with Travis henry at Houston. TN has been on a roll lately and he'll do a good job against a below avg team. Betts had 1 good week last week and I dunno if he'll do it again. The redskins just suck too much this year... I ahve him on my team and he did piss the hell outta me when he ran that well last week cause I Didn't play him.

I would use devery henderson since it looks like Joe horn is going to be out, Mike furrey and Plaxico. Andre johnson has been to hit or miss all season and the chicago D is just too tough.

Those are my picks from what you have

QUOTE(Sh0gunkid8721 @ Dec 7, 2006 - 11:32 PM)

Andre Johnson vs Tennessee
Torry Holt vs Chicago
Mike Furrey vs Minnesota
Plaxico Burress vs Carolina
Devery Henderson vs Dallas

Pick 3

Ladell Betts vs Philadelphia
Travis Henry vs Houston
Maurice Jones Drew vs Indianapolis

Pick 1

Any advice? Can't decide.

It is a very well written article. Good points made by The author. Each major city has this problem that NYC does... We have riots in cincinnati

yeah its a pain, gotta wash it right after the snow and ice go away, but its tough cause of the cold water which can freeze in places and cause its own problems...

Correction: Snow doesn't cause cars to rust. It is caused by the salt and other chemicals that are put on the road to combat ice and snow.

Woohoo for one last bout of warm weather before it gets freaking cold outside.

Aside fro washington state getting record rain and almost record snowfall in the same month span or so... anything else interesting out there in the world. Cincinnati is quite boring right now

QUOTE(saleeka @ Nov 28, 2006 - 10:55 AM)

How ironic- my old store needed someone to fill in this morning and now here I am with net acess again rolleyes.gif Well I was gunna ask this anyway in my own thread but what the hell...

anyways, my car has an original windshield with a lot of fine scratches and nicks thanks to the wipers over the years and such, and driving to work in the rain today was not so fun because of all those abrasions and the water filling them in... My question is this- Is it a good idea to get a new windshield to fix that problem or does having a new windshield installed come with it's own set of problems? I've heard that sometimes you can get really bad wind noise or they get leaky, etc... Before anyone says rainX or somthing like it, it's on there, and it dosent do much...

I dunno. I would think a new windshield wouldn't be a problem. its just glass and silicone. As long as its done well, it should be fine, right?
