Depending on what color you use..... When i sprayed my dash white, i used the vinyl spray from Home Depot..... worked perfectly.... just clean the dash with a surface cleaner and spray light coats. spray lights coats. The more light coats you do will make it look better and wont blister and fisheye...... |

Looks good...... not to burst your bubble, but like the other guy said.... i puddle and its dirty or even a rock kicked up and its chipped. Sometimes if the surface isnt prepped right, when you spray it with water, the paint will just peel off.... If you got time for your car to be down for a week or so..... should consider powdercoat. Looks like paint, feels like paint and is more durable. FYI. |

Well, the swap was on the books to get done...... A partial cage was in store also. The roof was cut off for the convert feel (since i dont want to buy another celi to have a vert), so i verted mine. I have been out of the car/show scene here in vegas for 3 years now......the scene passed me by. The celi was only supposed to be down not even a year. Was in store to get to SEMA last year, didnt make it. In store to get to SEMA this year....not looking good there either. Just kind of lost interest in the scene and finishing the build of the car. Sometimes i just want to drop it off at the junk yard and say here you go, other times i want to part it out and then drop the remains off. I had a shop that was going to do the partial cage in it but they flaked out. Everyone knows that feeling where you're almost there and boom you get shafted and cant finish it with your limited skills....so the thing sits. Thats my case.....still trying with the shop though, but wanted to post it up to get some type of feedback. |

Well guys i am parting out the Celi. I just don't have the drive to work on it anymore. The car has a fully custom suspension, chrome in the motor, white vinyl seats(driver seat needs reupholstered), most interior panels have been fiberglassed white. Here are the details: FRONT SUSPENSION: CHROME: lower A arms struts springs GREEN POWDERCOAT: hubs rotors calipers 8" conventional hydraulic cylinders cut down to 7" (to not pull the axles out of the tranny) REAR SUSPENSION: CHROME: (6) suspension bars struts springs 8" reverse flow cylinder GREEN POWDERCOAT: cross member (bars bolt to) hubs rotors calipers 2- Chrome Pro Hopper pumps with green anodized blocks, pressure plates, and motor end caps, 4- Chrome dumps, 4- accumulators, 3 switches, switchbox with cable, hydraulic lines. The hydraulics are setup for the Celica to sit on 20's......so i decided to throw these in too..... 20" Rozzi Wikid rims with tires (2 tires are a little bald) I'm looking for $5,000 for all this.................................. MOTOR: Chrome valve cover, chrome exhaust manifold covers, polished/chromed alternator, polished intake maifold, polished throttle body, Weapon R intake with filter and chrome pipe, chrome upper radiator brackets, misc. chrome brackets in motor, chrome stock strut bar. I'm looking probably another $6-700 for these. Also the motor 5sfe if anyone wants one. $700 Any takers........serious people only........some of you know my car others dont...... for those of you that do know this car was one of the nicest around......1 of a kind....many firsts in the world have been done to this Celica and has been featured in numerous magazines throughout the world also. |

Well from what i noticed on the vert versus the hardtop, there isn't much of a visible difference...unless there is more structure inside the doors. Only difference i noticed between the 2 is a cross brace behind the back seat and the added brackets and such for the vert top. Plus i went to the parts department and had them bring up the structure info on both celi's and didn't look any different from each other.....so i cut my roof off..... It's looking sweet so far... The car has sat for about a month and has not moved yet. My friend and I added a cross brace from driver to passenger. Once everything on the upper end is done, we are going to make a brace from the back side of the front tire to the front side of the rear tire....to stiffen it back up front to rear. But like i said....car hasn't shifted, moved, tweaked, taco'd etc.etc. I'm excited.... |

Well to some people 20's don't look right and to others they look fine. You're right, to each his own. It's the style in your city that you do certain things to you vehicle. It's like painting you car a crazy color, the owner may love it but you don't. Some people think body kits look good others don't. That's the style out this way....go big or go home. You would do things that gain you exposure over others. If it didn't look good, editors wouldn't want to feature these types of vehicles in their magazines. It's the same for putting 20's on a Accord....some people have a preference. I had 19's on before, they looked awesome, but i wanted to do something no one else did and i did it, even if people like the look of it or not. Thanks for the feedback guys. |
