WTB Driver side highbeam headlight housing, center armrest, fan speed control knob, jack, and spare tire. For a 1995 Celica GT

I have a jack

and for the armrest, do you want the center console lid ? I have one also

What do you mean by center console? I need the center part where you can open up and put stuff in. It acts as a armrest and a lid. I'll take the jack how much?

QUOTE (neophile @ Jul 17, 2003 - 11:00 PM)
QUOTE (JiGGa @ Jul 18, 2003 - 5:22 AM)
Thanx Neophile.  Yeah it's the 3SFE, so should I just run it on regular octane gas?

What you could do is run it on regular gas for the next 4-6 weeks and when you're driving listen carefully to the engine (no loud music etc smile.gif ). If over that time your engine starts to make a knocking or pinging sound or stops running smoothly, then you're probably using the wrong fuel and should switch to premium next fill up - but if the car runs sweet over that time, then keep using regular.

If I remember correctly Octane is basically a rating that tells you how likely the gasoline is to combust (explode) under pressure - the higher the octane, the more pressure it can take. So if you get a high compression engine and run low octane fuel in it, the fuel may start exploding before the spark plug ignites it - this messes up the timing of the engine and can cause a knocking or pinging sound. Over a short period this doesn't cause much damage, but if the octane rating is too low (89 octane gas in an engine that needs 100) and is left too long, damage can occur to many things - seals, valves etc.

Hope this helps smile.gif

I know about octanes levels, I just wanted to make sure it does knock or anything. I just got it put in and I don't want to mess my engine. But Thanx again Neophile.

Or you can sew it on yourself with a leather kit.

Silver top, no turbo, so I'm guessing a 3sfe.  The Information said that it's better if I used regular octane gas instead of premium octane gas.  Is that true?

You know... if you posted a pic like people have been asking, it would be A LOT easier for us to tell you what motor you have in your car...

You keep saying that it's a JDM motor, but how do you know? Just because the mechanic told you? If you want some serious help in trying to figure this out, go down to Walmart, but a cheap disposable camera, and take some quick shots.

Otherwise, here's my other suggestion if you'd rather help yourself. Do a search for various motors on the Web and find the pictures... then see which one resembles the motor that was installed...

Calm down...I'm looking for a digital camera now. If I went to by disposable camera I would still need a scanner anyway. Well it's JDM because the mechanic said it was. He just didn't tell me what engine it was. I would go down there again, but didn't have time to go ask. Everytime I call he's busy, so I'm trying to get the picture once I get it up I'll put it up ASAP ok?

I bought a the car, and the engine died on me. So I took it to the mechanic and he swapped in a JDM engine, but I wasn't sure which. I think it might be a 3sfe.

There no turbo on it. So either it's a 3sge or it's a 3sfe.

I just got a low milage engine swapped in...and I was wondering wut octane level I should use....I'm not sure if it's a 5sfe or a 3sfe all I know is it's JDM....and I read that using regular octane levels makes the engine preform better. Is that true?

I'm looking for a USDM 3SGTE. I know you can only find these in MR2s and All Tracs. I heard there's complications with MR2s and All Tracs are rare. But mywhite94celicagt what generation and how much milage on it? Also does it come with warranty?

Mines is start to burn oil. A lot of oil. So I need to find a new engine, my mechanic said it would cost more to fix it then to replace the engine. So I was thinking of just swapping it cause it'll be cheaper that way. Preferably I want a USDM engine...I want to make everything legal. But I only got like $2500-$3000 to do the swap. I got an estimate for labor which was around $800. So I got like $1700-$2200 for an engine. Thanks.
