Finally found a reference in another post about the rear windows (only) not working, and mentions three black relays in "junction block 1". Where is this located? Thanks" I found that the main problem is the switch contacts are dirty, with care the switches can be prised apart and cleaned. This worked for me, did all of them and they have platignium contacts (good toyota quality). Keith |

When the hood is up and you look in the well where the hood sits when its down, feel round and there is extensions that fit round the motors. (hood in uk is convertible top) |

well I had a new hood fitted about 6 month's ago, no leaks, those pieces stick to the panel at end of drain strip there should also be the extentions of the hood well that go into the wing panel. Take the top rails off( thats the ones with the brake light in), those are alloy castings so be carefull and you can see the fit of the hood better. Am at work till sunday so can't show any photo's yet. keith |

what a load of crap! of course they work, using normal road use pads they will need less pressure to stop as the loading is less due to the radius being greater. |

QUOTE(MaskedMan @ Sep 11, 2007 - 10:35 PM) Yeah i always figured LEDs take a LONG time to go bad. Especially for a light that isn't on all the time. This brake light is MAD exspensive from the dealer, most exspensive light i've ever heard of. When I took mine apart to see why they weren't working I found there was nothing inside the lens so I bought some led's and fitted them inside the len's. Keith |

QUOTE(TIP1 @ Sep 1, 2007 - 7:46 AM) Is there a way to disable the annoying 'chirps' that the factory alarm makes on an ST204 Celica? I feel so 90's every time I lock or unlock the car! I don't care about the alarm, just the remote central locking, so would it be possible to just disconnect the siren and use it for the central locking function only? Cheers Shane. Just turn it off, thats the box attached to the strut bar under the bonnet. |

If you have a sat/nav it's no problem refitting the speedo needle. also take note of your idle rpm when engine warm and you will have no problem, it ain't rocket science. |

QUOTE(808celica @ Aug 2, 2007 - 10:24 AM) how wide rims can the gen.6 take????? is 8.5" too wide???? or should i just go 7"???? well mine are 9" wide which is 8j with 225/45/17's fitted, could probably get away with 235's fitted, but the thing to watch is the clearance on the rear suspension spring base as there is less on the rear than on the front ones. QUOTE(jesterwr217 @ Aug 2, 2007 - 6:24 AM) do they actually work and what exactly do they do yes they do work.and for a reason. sensitive instruments such as the rev counter and speedo need a balanced supply or they would not give a reliable reading. Hope that helps. keith |

I guess that's why most go for 17" rims. look fairly big, nice ride with 225/45's fitted and can be lowered. keith |

QUOTE(lovemyceli @ Jul 28, 2007 - 10:01 PM) Ok so my ride sucks and there is a faint knocking noise coming from the rear of the car whenever i go over bumps. I was told that i needed new shocks. I took the car to a local shop and they wanted 790 just to install oem shocks. surely there has to be a cheaper way to solve this one, of the many problems my celica has. ideas on brands? can i install them myself? also i'd like to maybe get some aftermarket springs to lower the ride height. Any suggestions on the best combo that is effective in both price and performance? check the anti-roll (sway bar) bar bushes first before spending silly money on new shocks. keith |

QUOTE(Terzin1 @ Jul 23, 2007 - 9:09 PM) Recently, my top has been not closing correctly. the passenger side seems to get stuck or something, it acts like it needs to be lubed or something. anyone else ever had this problem or anyone know what kind of oil I could use? watch it as it drops into it's space sometimes the window does'nt drop properly, just pause it till it drops in then continue opening it. Also check that the tension wires on both edges aren't broke as this can cause problems. Keith |
