QUOTE(95ST @ Sep 1, 2005 - 11:29 PM) I am hoping that I will be able to turbo my celica within the next year, however with the gas prices now over $3 a gallon. Fuel economy is now a big factor in my decisions. I dont mind paying for high test but I was wondering how people with 7afte do for gas mileage? Please include what you are running for boost. Thanks. Steve MUAahahhahahahahah Oh my dear american friends.....and u are in worry for 3$ per gallon? Here in Italy price passed 1.3€ per LITER !!!!! (like 1.7$) |

QUOTE(CheesyLobster @ Sep 2, 2005 - 2:22 AM) I just got an apexi safc-ii used for my car. After looking at the how to for not that long i realized that the 1994-1995 ST Celicas have different wiring for the ECU than the 1996-1998. I've looked around for instructions and have consulted my Chilton book (which seems to make things more confusing) and havent been able to find anything. Can someone PLEASE give me instructions/ecu pin outs for my 1996 ST? THANKS EDIT: Sorry, might want to move this to wiring. Man I made an how to about that thing....read it |

QUOTE(madmods @ Aug 25, 2005 - 12:03 AM) im screwed!!! its the timing belt, and i just spent 192 on a coil some plugs and wires. Not only that, but they sent me coils for the 7 not the 5. I looked under the timing belt cover, and pulled the broken belt out a little. The relief, is at least now i know what it is. I hope u didn't crank the engine with the belt off....u risk to **** valves/pistons cuz of contact between them....... |

QUOTE(punkrocknurmama @ Aug 22, 2005 - 9:23 AM) Thanks for the help. A few more questions real quick. I don't have dreams of a demon street car or anything like that. I'm looking to run around 175hp on the street. What kind of boost will it take to get there? Can the stock internals handle that? The 105 hp merely don't hold it's own against the cars in this area... an please I think u are not a stupid guy, then for sure u've seen the SEARCH button in the frum.....please USE it cuz it has been discussed 100 times at least u'll find answers for all your quests |

instead of getting a mech boost controller, spend more and get electronic one. It has the capability of eliminate overpressure spikes and keep constant pressure and u can monitor it in real time and with a goooood precision. mech boost controller bring to a blown engine if u run engine at its limit, believe me |

QUOTE(playr158 @ Jul 15, 2005 - 3:29 PM) so the cam has a difference of .8mm what would be the benefit of that? and which side is it on intake or exhaust? U know what? if u want to be safe in monitor your data u'd need almost all of them. Fuel press: to check pressure loss or pump failure Oil press: to check oil pump is ok and press not excessive or not too low Oil temp: important cuz too high temp doesn't allow oil to keep it's properties A/F: needless to say for what I think..... EGT: high boost=high pressure=high temperature and they need to stay in limits Boost: I'd suggest EBC which allow u to control boost spikes and monitor is safely If u miss monitor one of those things and the one u're not lookin at goes wrong, 90% is too late to save your engine so....everything is up to you Just my 2 cents opinion anyway..... |

well just thinkin that an engine as 7AFE have in US market a 4-1 header which gives his better at high RPMS instead the use of a 4-2-1 which help in low-medium RPMS is a silly fact cuz of fuel cut at 6.2 and cuz of max power around 5k. The intake cam difference, dear Kwanza, has been measured from a machine shop. well maybe the USDM one I got, since it is used, lost few cents of lift but the difference measured was 0.8 mm (asked yesterday) so don't say if u don't try in 1st person. The ECU is different also in years: I mean: my 94ST has different maps than Doggy's ST which is 96 if I'm right. Just think my fuel cut is 6300RPMs, his fuel cut is around 7K!!!!! Than the EGR think maybe let USDM engine lose a little bit cuz of rejoon of non-burnable gas into combustion chamber=less efficiency. That's it I think.... |

QUOTE(Coomer @ Jul 4, 2005 - 2:56 PM) QUOTE(hyrevgnr53 @ Jul 4, 2005 - 5:51 AM) Hey what if you have tein springs can the suspension techniques sway bar kit fit, you stated there was rubbing issues before, have they fixed that problem? Yes, Suspension Techniques redesigned the front sway bar so that it no longer rubs the frame. So make sure you get one of the new bars. Hey bro but...cant'u simply solve the problem with some kind of custom additional bushings? Cuz I have a set at home ready to be on but I always heard about that and I can't believe that the fukin noise can't be solved....let me know, thanks |

QUOTE(JoKeRkId613 @ Jul 6, 2005 - 11:44 PM) 127? thats nothing... for buying gze pistons and all that other stuff. thats a lot of money and all youre getting is 17 horses? i got 185 hp with the flip of a switch. and then that'd also mean i have a blown engine. lol. so it stays at 110 for me right now. Well since u blown it as for now I have 127 hp and u 110 Anyway the gain is proportional to the type of engine so people who have good engine knowledge say: for that type of engine is a good gain; people who just know numbers say: oh only few hp for those money? |
