I have to say the frost king DID improve sound isolation.

not nearly as quiet as my LS400 but for the 10lbs or so i added to do the WHOLE car, definitely a good trade off.

but YES, something else may do a better job, it will also be heavier.

it also reduces heat transfer

Bi Xenon are the type of projector that is both HI/low bean in one bulb/housing. it raises the cutoff at will by energizing a solenoid. you will have to do the retrofit yourself, but you will end up with 4 low beams, and 4 hi beams, when needed. they all use a SINGLE bulb per housing, so only needs 4 bulbs/ballasts which will help simplify wiring and reduce cost.

This is something I wanted to do as well.

Convert to quad projectors, with the type that is both high/low beam in one projector, that switches by changing the cut off.

does it ding with the kets in and door open? if not look up under the dash and you will sii a little white or gray plug on the ignition cyl nect to the big plug ... make sure its plugged i or that feature wont work... i know many people who have unplugged that cause the door ring annoyed them (myself included) but you lose the safety feature that wont let you lock the doors with the keys in the ignition

unplug the map and see if symptoms change. check hose for vac at the sensor.

on a car that uses a MAP sensor, a vacuum leak would not cause a bucking issue.
the bucking is a misfire, either fuel or ignition related. these cars are old, it could be an ecu or wiring problem.. wayy too much to guess over the interwebs,

but from what you have said you replaced and the symptoms id make sure to do the o2 sensor and check out the tps and wiring for that and the map.
check continuity while wiggling the wire harness in all placed between sensor and ecu. pull up the tps test/adjustments part of the manual and do that, then go from there. if all checks out fine, its ecu. good way to know for sure if it IS the ecu (but not a sure fire way of ruling it out, though) is to open it up and look at the capacitors, if theyre leaky or bulging or discolored around the base, its for sure the ecu.

apply vac to the port on the egr valve(either with a lone vac hose to a port on the intake mani that has vac, or suck on it) at idle, if the engine stalls, the egr port and valve are functioning. the solenoid hardly goes bad. im betting if it passes the valve test its the modulator (20$ at autozone IIRC)

smoke on accel is usually piston rings allowing oil to burn off. if it burns oil and has decent mpgs id bet its rings. valve seals only show a puff of smoke at startup and thats it..

i guess itd help if i listed to the noise. LOL just those suggestions since its only when cold

the primary o2 is the one responsible for adjusting the fuel trim, the first one thats in the manifold, before the cat

still getting engine surge? i would look into the map, and tps, and their circuits. use the te2 + e1 combo and drive around and see if the cel pops on, then check codes
