same reason most 1.6 civics are louder than celicas. it's just the way the company designed it. not saying the intentionally made one car louder than the next, but just a result. one thing i can't figure out though, is why my car is louder than my wifes car. both 6gc's, both have 5sfe, factory exhaust with canister muffler and mine is outlandishly louder than hers....

the guys who did the body work on my 99 civic si a few years back had a suzuki sprint, with a sentra se-R engine in it (sorry, can't remember nissan engine codes at all, haha). all i know is it was turbo, and incredibly quick.

^ LOL

I think leetspeak is somewhat of an acquired taste. you had to see it in its early stages to appreciate where it has gotten. realistically, all of the stuff that has been said more recently is the result of someone's inability to use a keyboard.

how much would replicas of these be worth?

i have a set of originals that i got on ebay, and i'm thinking about making replicas. I have the means of doing so, i'm just wondering if there'd be a market for them on here..

it doesn't jump around in the front, just at the back by the windshield. if you grabbed the hood by the windshield while the car is stationary, you can move it up and down probably an inch, inch and a half.

My hood tends to jump around alot while i'm driving, and it makes a LOT of noise while doing so. I've compared it to my wifes celica, and the hinges are identical, have the same amount of movement and everything, no latches are missing, everything is seemingly identical. So what i've resorted to is MAYBE using hood pins. I guess i would place them at the top of the hood (near the windshield). Anyone ever done something like this before? is this a bad idea? I'm thinking out loud, so don't be afraid to harshly criticize my idea if necessary. thanks!

in a turn of events, ups has emailed me wanting me to ask the seller of my splitters for a tracer, and admitting they lost the package, hah.

anyone else ever had problems with UPS? i ordered splitters on july 7th, and i still haven't got them! this is all it says on my tracking page:

WINNIPEG,MB, CA 25/07/2007 7:36
BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE

LOS ANGELES, CA, US 12/07/2007 21:37 ARRIVAL SCAN

GARDENA,CA, US 12/07/2007 21:11 DEPARTURE SCAN
12/07/2007 18:40 FORWARDED TO THE FACILITY IN THE DESTINATION CITY
12/07/2007 17:03 PICKUP SCAN

US 12/07/2007 17:40 BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

i phoned ups last week, and the lady told me at first they were in wyoming...? i asked why in the world they would be there of all places, then she told me that that's wrong, they're at customs. so i said oh, okay so that means they should be here in the next couple days. so i asked if MAYBE i could pick them up from customs just so i could get them into the paint shop sooner. she puts me on hold to go ask someone. she comes back about 5 minutes later and says if you wanted to pick them up from WINNIPEG then you would have to release it yourself....but she told me before putting me on hold that they were at customs.

anyway, after getting the run around from ups for about 10 minutes, i established that my splitters are somewhere between gardena california, and my house. gives me a somewhat unsettling feeling mad.gif

from what i know, the 5sfe and 3sgte have the same block, so the awd tranny should bolt up. but from there, you would be spending way too much money to make the 5sfe awd... i'm not 100% sure what kind of modification/fabrication you'd be lookin at for that, but i'm sure someone will.

anyone else have this problem with lowering springs? sometimes when my car is parked stationary, and i turn the wheel, the spring (i presume) makes a creaking noise. i have kyb shocks, and tein springs, so it's not that i have bad quality stuff or anything. i haven't yet taken it apart to take a look at it, but i probably will sometime in the near future. if anyone has any thoughts on this, that'd be pretty sweet. Thanks.

hah, after getting the cam bolts, we tried putting em in, and they didn't fit by a mile. so, brought it in for a wheel alignment, and it turns out the toe angle was out so far that it wouldn't even register on an alignment machine, lol. the camber was out aswell, so my buddy just modified some bolts they have at the shop there to make it work. it's all good now though.

and to me, it looks like the left is rear splitter. they look identical to what Tufy has for rear splitters.
