QUOTE(Sh0gunkid8721 @ Aug 8, 2007 - 3:19 PM) QUOTE(Supersprynt @ Aug 8, 2007 - 6:27 AM) QUOTE(Sh0gunkid8721 @ Aug 8, 2007 - 8:32 AM) Who cares...i think way too much is being made of performance enhancing drugs. How many professional athletes do u think take andro or steroids or other professional enhancements? Im sure Barry Bonds isnt the only one in baseball or in any other major sports thats taking these supplements. U guys love the so beloved Hank Aaron, but u guys probably didnt know that he went under the same scrutiny that Bonds is goin under now because of his skin color. Congrats Bonds. Did you just compare skin color to performance enhancing drugs? Discrimination isn't exactly the same as using illegal drugs. My point is that there will always be haters when somebodys close to breaking major records . Roger Maris went through it. Hank Aaron went through it (because of his skin color in a racist time period). McGwire went through it and now Bonds went through it; hell some people didnt want Emmit Smith to break Payton's all time rushing record. If performance enhancing drugs made such a difference, how come McGwire and Rafael Palmeiro isnt up there with Bonds and Hank Aaron? Fact of the matter is that you still have to hit the ball which takes skill in itself. The fact that Bonds is the home run king and is also ranked up there as one of the most walked batters is a feat in itself. To have 756 home runs and to be intentionally walked as many times as he has is truely incredible. Obviously it will aid in most other sports like football but i dont see how it aids in baseball. Sports like wrestling, football and other physically demanding sports, i can see how that would be cheating, but in a sport like baseball where the bat does all the work, i just dont see it and i dont buy into that increased bat speed bit either. Everybody will have their own seperate point of views on this but thats just mine. The only problem with that logic my friend is that there were no haters around when Cal Ripkin broke Lou Gehrig's record, no one accuses Manny Ramierez of doping when he is on pace to break Hack Wilsons RBI record. The reason Palmero isn't up there with Bonds* is because he never was a power hitter, I don't think one time in his carreer did someone point him out and say "That guy is going to have a chance at catching Aaron". McGwire on the other hand is up there with them. He may not have put up the same carreer numbers they did but he played a significantly shorter carreer, partially due to the heat from the Andro ordeal. Not to take anything away from Bonds*. He is a great hitter, he grew up with two of the best hitting coaches a guy could ask for. I would say yes it is a feat that he could even come close to the record in recent years being as he is intentionally walked roughly 200 times a year. On the other hand I dont see how you cannot honestly say you dont believe that steroids have an effect on how hard you hit the ball. Its not that steroids make you a better hitter (that is an inaccurate statement), Steroids make you a stronger hitter physically. You will still miss a 95 mph fastball around your shoulders, you aren't going to hit the sinker that falls off at the plate, you will however be able to punish that hanging curve belt high middle in. All because of bat speed. You may not want to believe it but it pays a huge part in how far the ball travels. Also I would suggest researching "steroids" before you pin hole them to sports like football and wrestling. There are many of them out there that do more then just make you big and strong. I added the * to his name just so everyone can get used to seeing how it will be printed from now on in the record books. I gotta say though, I think it will look pretty good with a 2 next to it in about 5 or 6 years if A-Rod stays healthy. P.S. He just turned 32 |

Coomer, Coomer, Coomer.... I'm just really still more upset that you stole my mohawk idea more than you are selling the car. The only other thing I will say while looking for a job or place to move, you should move to the seattle area so you can save me from these girls (you know which two I'm talking about) at times. |

I personally am a HUGE fan of Yamaha bikes so i would start on either the YZF600 or R6. The biggest difference you will see between those two bikes is the YZF doesn't have as good of a suspension set up as the R6 so your ride will be a little more rough. You will also have a more balanced power ratio through all gears and all rpm's on the YZF. Look wise the R6 is by far better looking than the YZF. However...The GSXR600 and Suzuki in general make phenomenal bikes, the parts are cheap and easy to find and they are very rider friendly (think street bikes for dummy's). Honda's bikes, to me at least, are a bunch of garbage much like the cars. In thier struggle to keep up in a market where they are rapidly falling behind the competion. They cut some weight off the bike but they also tweaked the suspension so that it is a rougher ride for you which is never any good. I gotta say to get the most bike and the best beginner bike for your buck go with an 01-03 R6 or GSXR600. I personally am looking forward to the day I can get my R1...mmmmm, sex on two wheels. |

I personally am a fan of Arnette's. I think the only pair of Oakley's I would ever own is a pair of juliette's. Not knocking your choice though...I tried those ones on as well they are just way to big for my tiny head. |

Congrats to Rob McCullough as he successfully defended his title tonight against Kit Cope. It is unfortunate that Kit got injured that badly but it is all part of the sport right. |

QUOTE(gt_driFFter @ Jun 6, 2007 - 9:32 PM) QUOTE(BlackCelicaGT94 @ Jun 6, 2007 - 2:15 PM) ^ may i ask why im sensing attitude from you over this? its my decision and yeah id love a g35 but im picky about my cars and I want an 08 g35 if im going to get one so thats a no like ive said so why are you pressuring me towards one? Theres certain things I need to go for and all options are being considered so trust me i have it under control There is no attitude, I couldn't care less about what somebody across the country wants to drive. I was simply pointing out that you are ruling out many good options, simply because they werent made within the last year. Just out of curiosity, what is it about the 2008 G35, that eliminates any older model as a choice? Well the reason cars that weren't made within the last two years have been ruled out is because after a car has been deemed "used" and is more than a few years old it reaches its "real market" value. Meaning there is no more it can depreciate unless there is some sort of damage to the vehicle, thus producing a higher intrest rate and requiring a steeper down payment. Newer cars on the other hand come at a lower initial intrest rate because you get a longer lease period to collect that intrest money. So....what she is looking for is something new to 1 or 2 years old (I think) that comes with a lower intrest rate and longer lease terms to lower payments at least a little bit. QUOTE(gt_driFFter @ Jun 7, 2007 - 5:42 AM) Not only that, but most people who buy an evo, are going to beat the crap out of it, and run it really hard. Same with sti, srt4, etc. So you are saying that if I were to purchase a STI, it wouldn't be because I enjoy the look or overall design of the car but because i wanted to beat the hell out of the engine and redline every shift? I'm not going to say it would never happen, but it's not the reason I personally would buy one. |

the only problem with the G35 is that it is to spendy, otherwise that would be the car she got. |

thats what they said about Tito's fight with Liddell and he get his ass handed to him. If you ask me Tito is a lot of hype these days, who knows what happened to the Tito of days gone by but I have a feeling that if Evans can keep it standing up Tito won't win. If it goes to the ground than he will have a better chance at pulling out a victory. |

The fight was alright. I wish it would have gone on longer, but when you have two of the best strikers in the light heavyweight division in the ring together than things like that will happen. The fight ended how I figured it would but not how I wanted it to....for financial reasons. I will agree with a few of you in saying that Liddell is a talented fighter, and does really have a much broader skill set than just stand up striking. However, saying that he is the best fighter ever is a little extreme IMO. You have to figure in that for the last 3 years he has been at the top of his game but could he have beaten a younger Couture, a Ken Shamrock in his prime, Hoyce Gracie in the first UFC. Can he hang with the Fedor and Alexsander Emelianenko's in Pride FC. Granted they are in the heavyweight division as Couture is now but there is so much talent o9ut there now that to say he is the best now and the best there ever was seems a little to much for me. Quinton Jackson is a talented fighter and hopefully in his next fight against Dan Henderson we will get to see him display those sick ass ju-jitsu skills he has, of course Henderson isn't to shabby himself on the ground with his wrestling prowess. Should be another good match-up. Just my $0.02 |
