OMG! i thought i was the only one with this problem!! one day as i was driving home from work, pitch dark outside, when i would hit my turn signal all my lights would dim on each blink. It was cold so i figured that was all. when i got on the freeway going about 70, hit the turn signal and BOOM! the engine completly shut OFF! i quickly pulled in the emergency lane, and once i stopped, it automaticaly started back up, strange. ever since then i have the EXACT same problem!! i replaced the battery thinking that was it...works FLAWLESSLY! for about a week, then same problem!! for a while i was thinking solenoid/starter, but i believe what it is is battery TERMINALS/WIRES i think the wires need replacing, which i belive someone said theirs was cracked and needed replacing so try that...i will as soon as i get back to my car... hope my scary story helped |

OMG noob moment!!! i totally didn't even know that that box under my seat was an AMP!! i just shrugged it off and thought it was the ecu or something. So i have a question...i have an aftermarket kenwood deck and when the shop installed it, they had to bypass the internal amp. So, my deck alone doesn't push enough power for the 8 speakers. (actually its only six, as i have removed the back speakers because they were blown) Since it doesn't produce enough power, my 8" subs don't hit as hard as they did with factory deck. ( I would have stayed stock but my factory deck skipped on every little bump) So my question is can i somehow still use that external amp??? Thanks everyone for the info!! |

QUOTE(alltracman78 @ Jul 12, 2007 - 9:41 PM) Damn useless Toyota techs.... Could be a pulley going bad. Was the water pump replaced? They don't usually whine when they're replaced.... all that was replaced was belt and seal, and i didn't think it shoud make that noise, maybe pully, but never made any sound BEFORE belt was replaced... thanks for info |

Hello, I was just wondering about a sound coming from a BRAND NEWLY INSTALLED BY A TOYOTA TECH. timing belt on my 94 gt 5s-fe engine. I just had it replaced and it makes a whining sound when revved. Sounds a little like a whislte/whine like a supercharger would make. I asked the tech and he said it was normal since it was new. I was just wondering if maybe the belt was rubbing on timing cover, or if maybe is normal, when revved to about 3k plus, its VERY noticable. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks killacustomimports. |
