I'm looking for a bumper cover and black passenger fender in the Detroit,
Ann Arbor or Toledo area.

I'd be willing to do a money order a long distance deal. I won't use PayPal
ever again...

Anyone? Hit me up and we'll bang out a price...

And some after market companies are just crap all the way around.
That's what I was getting at.

As far as two threads go, I wasn't looking at these bumper covers last night
at 2 am. Just hoods.

Thanks for your input.

I'm looking at Blits front bumpers.
How do they fit around the lights, support, fenders?
Anyone have good/bad experiences?

I'm tossing a new right fender and new hood on at
the same time...

It's most likely tires. Mine was doing it around 65-70. I got new front tires
and it drives like a new car. Are your tires older?

My fiancee's car felt like it was going to fall apart at 55. And it's a newer
car. It definitely felt like there was something major wrong with it. Again,
it was the tires. Drives like a new car now.

I just filled up last night.
3.71 in Michigan. I'm 20 minutes south of Detroit.
Hopefully, it dropped more today.

Damn! It always works like that. Doesn't have to be "invader"...
Just invader style with the opening in the lower grill area. Personally,
I don't like the c-one style bumpers for my car. They look good on
the whites and reds..but I don't like them on black Celicas.

I really like the muscle-car-ish looks of the Zyclone Hood.
How do they fit on our cars? Is it a good, tight fit or are
there any modifications needed? I see one of these in my
near future...

QUOTE (Athorn @ Aug 7, 2008 - 11:43 PM) *
I get about 300 a tank. Jeez 400? what am i doing wrong? i Just replaced my spark plugs and wires..everyhitn else seems fine. What else should i do.

You're doing nothing wrong. You're driving a GT. He's driving an ST. It all depends on your
driving. My city driving RPMs are almost always above 3k. And I do mostly city driving.
If I took it really easy - drove soft, shifted soft and lightened up on the gas foot, my mileage
would jump up considerably. In the situation where I am doing highway driving, I get about
31 MPG.

Anyone near Detroit have an Invader Front Bumper?
Color doesn't matter. I don't want to fix serious damage,
though.

I'm all about picking it up and skipping the shipping...

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Hey Guys,
Is there a fuse underneath the steering column for the alarm or
locks in my 94 GT? My alarm is working but the auto door locks
aren't. Even when I use the manual button in my doors. There's
a clicking sound coming from underneath my steering column.

Yeah, I drive at pretty high RPMs on the surface roads...but I think
I need a new oxygen sensor and a couple other things.

Awesome.
I had a 7G'er at a stop light rub his fingers and thumb together
like, "Wanna sell her?"...Needless to say, I shook my head in the
"absolutely not" fashion...but gave him the thumbs up.

I decided to pay close attention to my mileage this week.
I'm driving a 94 GT 5-Speed.

I don't really go over 70-80 on the highway..but I drive
"peppy" on the surface roads (can't help but have fun in
the Celica)..

I'm getting about 280 a tank. With recent plugs, wires,
rotor, cap, distributor.

How's your mileage this summer and how do you drive?

Griffgirl,
Right on with the spray advice. That's exactly what you need to do.
And use a putty knife or something similar (not sharp) to push the
fabric into the creases.

Gt Driffter,
Along with yer elbow grease, what did you use to get the glue off?
Goo Gone? Fast Orange? Something similar?

I second that. Spend the money on the good parts and do
a total tune-up. I replaced everything in May (including
the actual distributor as well) and I have crazy power
compared to how it was running before.

Woah!
Dude, at that price, I'd find a beat up Celica with relatively low miles,
swap the engine, use some of the body parts and sell the rest. Yikes.

ETNRIDER,
Your smoked tails look awesome. How did you those particular ones?

My car would like that. It would make her happy.

That's impressive. I'd be checking out the cop car if I got
pulled over. I'd be making him pop the hood. Hah.

Awesome! I landed a new job today with much better pay...
so this dark, dark red Celica just might happen for me.

I had the same problem with my ABS light. My brakes were
spongy and I had to pump them. I bled the system and it
seemed like there wasn't any air in there...then I bleed the
system again. A hardcore bleeding session and I had big
pockets of air in my rear lines that didn't appear to be there
before. They're fine now.

Are your calipers cool? To be honest, I'm not sure if that has
anything to do with your situation..but I had another ABS problem
a few years ago and it was a problem with my front, driver's
side plunger.

I'm sure someone who's better informed in the brake department
can better determine what your problem might be. I'm just letting
you know of a similar experience I had.

For black cars, nothing beats Meguier's. I use all their products. The only
thing I don't like of their's are the Interior Wipes. They don't give the
interior a good enough shine.

I want to try the Ice before the summer is up and see what it looks like.

How does the Ice interior stuff look? Anyone got a pic?

Let me revise this.
The Invader can have minimal damage. Minimal..
But the stock has to be clean.
Thanks.
Oh, and a little cash can be involved one way or the
other.

I'm in no hurry...so if someone spots this a month
from now, that's cool too.

How is Oregon and Washington with their laws?
Do they make you do the "hood popping" on a
standard pull-over? I've spent a lot of time in
Washington and been through Oregon a couple
times. The first time I drove through was at 3 am
about 7 years ago or so. This guy came up to the
car in the darkness and asked, "regular 87?"..I
thought he was a homeless person trying to pump
my gas for money. I snapped, "I'll pump it myself,
Dude!"...He just gave me a funny look and said,
"That's against the law"...He explained and I
apologized. So funny. The scenario is burned into
my psyche.

Yeah, Death, the smoking thing wouldn't last two
seconds here, either. I've seen it in New York..even
upstate New York. It's put tons of bars and bar/grills
out of business in both Buffalo and Rochester. Places
that have been in business for over a hundred years.
First, they told them they had to have an enclosed,
separate smoking room...so the bars spent tons of
money building these rooms with smoke eaters and
what not. A BIG investment. Then, right after they
were done building them, they said "No, Nevermind,
No one can smoke now. Period". Financial ruin 101.

That's exactly what I was reading/watching. In Michigan, the
cities/state/courts would want you to still have your car so they
can make $$$$$ off you.

We have a thing called the Driver's Responsibility Act. If you
have over 7 points, it's a hundred dollars a year for each
additional point you rack up. So if you had 10 points, you'd
pay $300 a year to keep your license. If you get an impaired
driving, it's $500 a year..and a drunk driving is $1000 a year.
Not having insurance and other infractions also cost $150-$500
a year. This is completely separate from any court costs and is
through the State of Michigan, not the courts. Failure to pay results
in your driver's license being suspended.

Everyone that has ever lived in or been to Michigan knows that
it's impossible to not have a car. There's absolutely no public
transit. So the courts and state are more prone to fining you than
taking your license. If everyone that "screwed up" in Michigan lost
their license or worse - Their car, the unemployment rate would
be even higher. biggrin.gif
