well i had the same problem with my 7a plus the valves were really bad. the 4age is a dual cam motor out of the corrollas in japan. the silvertop and blacktop were the last two kind they came out with. they swap right into your car without to much hassle or custom fab work. so i got the whole 4a swap from japanstarmotors.com for like 900 bucks no shipping. the swap isnt that bad you just need to pull the old one, drop the new one in then do the wiring for it. im not gonna lie it sucked dick so i just let Dr. Tweak do it cause he's been doing it since Jesus was around so he knows a thing or too haha. but yeah man if youve never had a turbo car then the upgrade from 7a to 4a will be great i mean i was in the same boat as you not knowing much about working on motors but once you get into its really fun. if you want any more help just pm or search the forums.

go with a 4age its cheaper easier and the increase in power will be nice if youve never had a tubro car. you can get the whole swap from japanstarmotors for around 900.

QUOTE (mgnt232 @ Mar 16, 2009 - 7:07 PM) *
Looking for a 1994 Toyota Celica ST Engine M/T. Needs to have low miles on it and in good condition. My car has a 1.8 liter 7A-FE engine, and is starting to have too many miles on it.

I am looking to spend about $1,500, for a stock engine with low miles. Price can be flexible obviously if engine is brand new or if it has aftermarket parts on it (must run and have low miles). Please contact me on this website or email at -Mgnt232@hotmail.com- with any questions or offers. thanks- I live in the Albany, NY area.

i got one you could get for cheap only problem is i dunno whats wrong with the valves and rods were messed up.

I just got done doing my swap and of course a car can never be finished. so i was wondering if anyone who has or had a 4A, has any idea what type of aftermarket stuff to use. Mainly im wondering what kinda clutch and flywheel, cams, and other bolt on mods to go with. also i'm thinking about upgrading my suspension system soon, i was wondering if anyone could help with the right set up to go with for an ST?

i posted a while back after i got my swap done with a bunch of stuff i had from my swap. im in the midst of deciding about what to do with the engine but the rest of the stuff im trying to get rid of. lemme know if you you're interested or want pics:

7a Cruise Control (everything)
7a Throttle Cable
7a Altenator
7a Intake Manifold
7a Header (no downpipe)
7a Power Steering
4a Stock Manifold

I'll have to look and see what other things i've got. I have the motor which is on this last limb, and the tranny which is still good. So far im holding on to motor and tranny unless the right deal comes up. anyways lemme know if you are interested.
