Well, i left for a week, and left my roomate in charge of my car, and he doesn't put oil in it when its obviously making a knocking noise....So..due to that, I'm sellin the car. The car runs, minor body damage, and interior is decent. Like I said, you'd have to do some work to get the car back to where it used to be, and I just don't have the time nor money.

So you can use it as a parts car, or you can just fix it up...your choice.

$600 obo if you can come and get it too!

Will post pics tomorrow

QUOTE(axelrduvirage @ Jan 9, 2008 - 8:30 AM)

i have a very short fuse and am quite a poweful man. combine the two and you have an assault waiting to happen. not that i would ever harm a child, but if i ever confront one of these bullies' parents and they piss me off, i could very easily take it out on them-- verbally (a given) or physically.

I'm just glad to hear you haven't done anything stupid yet. If I had a kid and he came home and told me what happend - without thinking, I would've done something stupid. I have to agree, not to the kids who did it, but I would've said something to the parents of the kids.

Well man, I've had similar situations happen to me when I was growing up..Yes..I was bullied..But I definitely haven't put up with it since I was little..But I got bigger, so I don't get effed with so much anymore.

Anyways, on to the advice. I'd talk to the parents before you take it to the police. I would just use the police to scare the kid into never doing it again..But definitely talk to the parents.

But if the parents decide not to do anything about it (doubt they won't do anything), you can put your kid in some sort of "self-defense" class. Such as karate or boxing or something. Just so he can defend himself if situations get to rough - which we all hope don't happen.

Not to many out there better then a Yota..haha

Stick with the celica. You can gain experience by working on it. Trust me, not a lot of us on here do their projects all at once. Its a little here a little there. People don't just go out and get the 3sgte swap with the gt4 front end and suspension done all in one week. That may take up to even a year for someone to accomplish things like that. I know some of our celis are over a decade old, but think about it, they aren't making celis any more. Sooner or later you'll be owning a classic.

haha you thought that was funny too..sweet.lol

And I do have to agree with you man. I'm a prime example of trying to get EVERYTHING done at once..and it ended in disaster, and ended up costing me $700..so...yeah..it sucked..But..you live and learn.

So now, i'm adding little..by little..and a little more here and there..And yes, you'll be owning a classic soon. Maybe in a few years Celica prices will go up and people will actually be able to get some money out of 'em. lol

Dude..I know what you're talking about.

I've had my celica since 31st of August. I was really excited about getting it. The slick look, had 150 on the speedometer...but man, when I got behind it I realized that my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE I had was faster. haha

I did think about selling mine a while back..but I realized that no matter how much you put into it you'll never get any of it back out of it. So..I'm going to keep my celica for a LONG time, and just add a few mods at a time..

BUT - on September 27, 2009 I get the rest of my $20,000 sign on bonus for the National Guard, which will come out to around $6,700 ... and then i'm going to put a down payment on a WRX, Evo, or 350Z..

But whatever you do man, just make sure its a good reliable car..Not to many out there better then a Yota..haha

Well people. I'm back after a short term of leave.

Just a bit update on my 95 celica st..well..the clutch FINALLY went out. haha It SUCKED! I was on 29S, heading back towards Greensboro..and BAM...rpm's go up..and mph's go down..so..yeah, it sucked. A friend of my dad who does imports should be done putting in my new one. He's also fixing my much needed oil leak today as well. My car should be squared away today..so I can give it a good wash, and cleaning.

My younger brother came back from Iraq at the end of Nov. and stayed through part of December. So I got to see him.

So how has everyone been? What about Christmas and New Years?

Yay..finally something I actually know about.

What's up man? Well, i'm not in the Air Force, but i'm in the National Guard. So its a branch of service.

I can't tell you to much exactly about the air force, and not to rag on them, but if you want to do military service, but have an easy time doing it, air force is the way to go. By no means and i'm ragging on anyone in the air force, or downing them. But honestly, they have it sooo easy..THey pull 6 month tours in Iraq, and their basic training program is CAKE! They are definitly the easiest branch of service to do if you want to pull some years in the military.

Any active duty component, army, navy, marines, etc, is good if you want to get out of your local area and see the country. But if you want to go to college, any reserve components (cough cough national guard cough cough) would be good to go to college.

But, if you want to go to college , and not worry about getting deployed, national guard can guarantee you 2 years of non deployment so you can atleast get an associates degree. Its called College First enlistment option.

Hope that helped ya out a bit.

Well mostly I want to just get a new clutch. As far as diong it myself, ain't going to happen. haha I know absolutely nothing about doing it. I've only taken out 1 engine in my time, and that took FOREVER. haha

But yes, its my daily driver, only car I have. So I'd need to get it done by someone, or a shop that can get it done in 1 day (hopefully). And yes, my plan was to have the seal fixed while I was getting a new clutch because I have an oil leak and that would be the perfect time to get that fixed as well.

I just need to find a good clutch (hopefully a good racing clutch) for a decent price. And get it installed, and the oil leak fixed all in one day. I'm hoping to spend no more then $700 for this because out of the $2,000 i'll be getting at the end of the month, atleast $1,000 will be going towards bills, and the rest is for the celica to get right.

I took the car out again today for another spin and it seemed to do decent once the car started warming up...but I can definitly tell i'm going to need to get it replaced asap!

Got a problem with my celica guys, and need someones help. My clutch is really starting to slip pretty bad, I can be in 5th gear, and put the gas pedal to the floor, and it will rev up as if its in 2nd or 3rd. So I need to get a new clutch, and find someone to put it on in Greensboro.

So if you can help me out, i'll be more then happy to pay, but it'll be towards the end of Dec. before I can get it done..but if you can still help, please let me know..

Thanks

- Roger

ok, since ive been surfing this Forum ive been looking at everyones pictures and mods theyve done the their Celi. and i have to know how you guys do it. im not talking about how machanically,i mean funding and time. I mean i have somethings that keep me from being about to spend a lot of money to mod my car, my daughter and my wife eat my money up pretty well, bills and what have you but i know im not the only one here that has responsibilities like these. If you saw my Celi you would cry, im just now able to afford a EGR valve and a new Brights head light assembly that im hopping will allow it to pass inspection. and dont get me wrong, i love my car and would work on it ........most of the day if i could, but some of the things you guys have done are crazy.

im not looking for advice, and im not bashing you all either, hell more power to yah

Im just wondering how you all did it, and how much time it took for you to get to where your at now.

Easy answer. Not many of us have what you have; meaning a wife and daughter. The fact that you have a daughter is enough to drain the money out of your pockets but thats still cool that u got all that. Im not saying thats a bad thing cuz I'd be more worried if you had a daughter and was spending all the money on the Celica to tell you the truth. Most people here are still in school and live at home and dont have too many expenses.

true, for example, i dont have the required expenses that you have. my money goes to girls, alcohol, college, and my car, and the little i left over i save tongue.gif also keep in mind some of us have had our cars awhile. a small bit here and there adds up over time.

I have to agree. A lot of the people on here have had their Celicas for YEARS! I've only had mine for a few months, and I thought when i first bought it that I was going to put mod after mod after mod into it. but after the first few mods, I began to truly realize how expensive it is, and how much time it requires. So now i'm just putting little by little into it. It'll take a few years to get it where I want it, but once i get it there it'll make it all worth it!

Well, the time has arrived, just about. I'm making the move to Greensboro, NC this weekend. I've seen about 4 or 5 6th gen celica's drivin around the greensboro area. Just wondering who here lives in that area. i need to know where all the places are that people like to hang out, and all the good mechanics around the area!

So if you live in that area, let me know!

Thanks

Recently my car has been making an odd noise whenever I shift gears. It doesn't happen often, except today. It happend twice. I'm not to sure what it was, but a few of my friends, and myself, thinks it sounds like a wannabe back fire. It's not that loud, but its not exactly quiet either.

Any input would be appreciated!

I know how you feel my friend. After I first bought my car, 2 weeks after I bought it, I went to the DMV to register my car, and got some tags and registration...what happens while i'm in the DMV? Someone hits my car too! Nothing to big, but over the back passenger tire, over the wheel well..and it chipped the paint, and put some small dents..it sucks!

I feel your pain!
