Wow I haven't been on in years. What's everyone up to? I saw Greg a few months back randomly at Bills. How are the Celicas treating everyone? Fill me in! That silver celica with rims is mine that I'm letting my father use as a daily til he buys a new car lol.

great googly-moogly!!

Excellent swap candidate! Drop in a new motor (like a V6 tongue.gif ), new brake lines from Master Cylinder, springs and exhaust! The body looks straight and that alone is worth the cost. Wish you were closer.

wait - MN.... How much rust on that thing?

Door edges are beginning rusting, fender has a tiny amount and the trunk around the third light. Besides that it's not bad.

What exactly is wrong with the brake lines? It's the steal lines I'm assuming? How are the calipers?

The fuel lines that are next to the rear brakes leaked and corroded the brake lines until they both burst. Putting in full lines from the proportioning valve to the rear requires removing the exhaust so that the gas tank can be removed because the right side line goes above the tank. So I tried to install sections of new line just where they were corroded and burst, which worked for one side but after many attempts at fixing the other side, the old metal lines wouldn't accept the fittings and resulted in a leak still. Calipers in the rear are new along the with pads and new parking brake hardware and shoes. Exhaust is needed now anyway but I'm done with this car and have moved on. Willing to let it go cheap as I need it gone asap before snow hits.

Btw this is not a part out thread, I'm selling the whole car for parts. Don't have the time to part out and end up having unsold items sit in my house for months at a time.

Hey guys, I really need to get this car gone asap so I'm taking offers locally first but no luck the past couple weeks. Link to the ad: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/pts/2669269464.html

Quick look:
236,000 miles
Yellow spray canned doors, hood, and fender
Car was broken into- stereo gone, door locks destroyed, dome light broken apart, and radio bezel busted (all broken when everything got stolen)
Gas door missing
No passenger vanity mirror
One washer jet missing
Exhaust leak
Brake line failure in rear

EDIT: THIS IS NOT A PART OUT. BUY THE WHOLE CAR AND THEN YOU CAN PART OUT WHAT YOU DON'T WANT.

I believe I've PM'ed those who have messaged me previously about parts. I am sorry to cut you guys off short here, but I have found a different path; fixing the car instead of parting it out. As of today I will close this thread and I want to apologize to everyone for getting hopes up and such! Thanks for understanding guys and best of luck with your parts search and keeping the 6GC's alive!

Radio was stolen a while back and they happened to take my brackets of the sides of the radio and left me with the deformed ones welded to the dash frame. I'm not positive if all of them are universal since I haven't replaced my radio in a long time but I'm pretty sure they all work the same. If anyone has both sides laying around I will definitely take them off your hands! Not having music in the car is sucky! Thanks guys

Use a voltmeter and check to see if your port is receiving power and then check ground also

Theoretically both sides should have the tab. But I've also had it where only one has the mounted tab. Put the tabbed one on the outside and the regular one against the piston. Honestly it doesn't really matter. Its all about ease of fitment for install. Hope that helps

We just talked a little about this so I thought I'd write out the steps I would take:
- Batt. Health and Charge
- Fusible Link and Fuse check (use an ohmeter if you can get your hands on one!)
- Check your relays for proper continuity
- Check your connections you made to your battery relocation (grounds, to alternator, etc)
- If you have messed or played with any other electrical connections on the car, go back and check to see if they are good

Work your way back through the process you took relocationg your battery and make yourself a checklist so you don't overlook any steps. You'll find the problem eventually, just go through the circuit from top to bottom. I pulled up a power source chart for you, so you can see visually how the power flows. Good luck!

^^^ Very true. The recalls have actually made us technicians alot more money than we have been used to biggrin.gif Business is a little slow now but yes the recalls really aren't a big problem like most people believe. They are mostly precautionary things like rust prevention in the frame, cables, and pedal shaving. Hazzah for Toyota making their plastic interiors cheaper tho hahah. Can't beat the 90's quality of Toyota!

Sounds like you fixed your original problem then! Not sure if the timer would make that kind of malfunction but hey if it's not doing it anymore yippee! lol

Car got broken into a while back and haven't had time and money to start fixing everything that got damaged. If you have any of these things please either PM with a picture of the item and your asking price or leave it in the thread thanks!
My list includes:
- Dome light cover
- Center Cluster Finish Panel (see diagram)
- Driver side front wheel well splash shield (covers entire wheel well and connects to front bumper)
- No. 1 and 2 Center Console Brackets (brackets that attach the flanges that mate with your radio or cubby/see diagram)

- Leather manual shift boot (preferably black and not beat up lol)
- Cash donations laugh.gif
