on the st202 celica you have a carbon cannister just next to the fuel filter where does the little small vaccuum pump that pushes onto it go in relation to the engine and also on the biomettallic switching valve on the water hose body just off top hose the sensor has two little vaccuum pipe one of the end and one half way down where do these two pipes go on the engine, i think end one goes to top of throttle body and middle one goes to carbon cannister but engine does run right. |

thanks for that but ideally i really need an engine bay picture or the likes of where all the hoses and sensors go if anybody can help. checked rotor, dissy, plugs, leads and the simple stuff. i really think the small breather pipe on the purge valve is wrong as there is too much hose left over and i remember it being really quite tight and almost stretched to start with. thank you for your help. any ideas would belp as it looks like i'm on my own with this one. |

the bottom end on my 3sge st202 started to make a rattling noise and about 3000 rpm so i bought a new bottom end and had a so called garage fit it into my vehicle, when they have come to put all the vacuum pipes on the rebuilt engine they haven't got a clue where they go but put them where they think they should be and have also broken a few of the sensors which i replaced with off another motor but the car will not idle, stalls, when accelerating makes a constapated type noise and won't accellerate over about 10 mile an hour. been back to them and said nothing they can do don't know enough about the vehicle to fix it even though i have paid them, contacted citizens advice and been told best to try to talk to them first. Can anybody please give me a diagram of where all the pipes from inlet manifold, purge canister and the likes comes from and goes to so i can try to put it back together. Please help or i will have to break up the car and scrap it as spent well then more than than the car is worth on labour only. please help to give life back to my car any help would be appreciated as i got a toyota data manual but that doesn't show any real pipe runnings |

wow your celica only get you to 120 mine as with an air filter and exhaust was pushing out just over 156mph on the motorway when i first bought it to see what it could get up to. if your's only reaches 120 then you either have a problem or you didn't put your foot down hard enough lol Nope, I think he's fine. I don't think a factory GT can reach much over 120. Any California legal one has a limiter around 126. Honestly, it's a 2.2 I4 with only 135hp to the crank stock, why bother breaking 120? If I want to go fast, I take my bike out for a spin. 186 will scare the **** out of you when you don't have a cockpit surrounding you... -TC uk spec is obviously better then just starting to mess around with a set of r1 throttle bodies for it now |

I really like the idea, and the one you have looks REALLY clean. However with that said, I don't take my car above 110 (or really, above 85 most of the time). Even the stock GT engine will only get you up to 120. I would understand a little bit more if we were achieving speeds of 150+, but I don't think our cars have enough power to really use this to their advantage. However, it does look really sweet. I'm glad someone did it, I just wouldn't find it as practical as it should be (for me at least). -TC wow your celica only get you to 120 mine as with an air filter and exhaust was pushing out just over 156mph on the motorway when i first bought it to see what it could get up to. if your's only reaches 120 then you either have a problem or you didn't put your foot down hard enough lol |

been looking for some information and apparently the orange oil light that comes on is for oil level and the red light is for the oil pressure. As my problem is the orange light stays on but my oil level is at maximum. i beleive that a few people have had this problem and it is that the level sensor in the sump goes faulty it costs over 200 pound plus vat from the dealer. Any suggestions or help |

I have a 3sge engined celica and when i start the car up no oil light soon as i start to drive carefully the orange oil level light comes on and stays on untill i switch the engine off. I have changed the oil and the filter and used an engine flush, no difference! engine does not make any rattling noise and i have taken rocker cover off and seems plenty of oil and not grooves or noticable damage to any parts. Checked oil level on dipstick reads full. Stuck do i need to worry or is there an engine oil level sensor that is in the sump on these models. Any help would be really appreciated don't know what to do garage suggested oil pump but no red oil light has come on and engine not noisy and looks well lubricated. Thanks. |

i have a st202 3sge celica and want to get more power out of it, don't want to turbo the car. it is a 94 model thinking of piper 285 cams, double valve springs and vernier pulleys along with a superchip icon igntion remap chip, uprated hks head gasket and arp bolts, with an uprated fuel pressure regulator. Looks like it would get me, off there estimates 22bhp. i would like a 4-2-1 manifold but can't find one to suit and i have a knN air filter and mongoose cat back exhaust with a decat pipe. Any suggestions would be great |

i was just wondering because a company called bmc air filters list a carbon fibre induction kit listed for those models but i could see how it would fit as i have been told the throttle body sizes are different and some are some on the sensors and pipes that screw into the intake rubber pipe on my induction kit. I already have a KnN induction kit but it now looks dated but fits perfectly. that was why i was asking. thank you for your help |

there is a guy who is selling celica strut braces for the celica gen 6 models from japan but on the advert he is listing them as being for 94-99 and 2000 onwards models gen 6 and 7. Is the gen 7 strut brace the same fitment as the gen 6 one or is he just making it up. Really good price mind you 40 uk pounds and 14 pound delivery and the ends come in a choice of finished colours what do you all think any good or leave alone |

hello i am thinking about taking my 3sge engine celica and converting it into a turbo, in theory mechanics said it would work all i would need to do is buy a set of lower compression piston rings from the st205 which i have been told are the same bore size pistons. Buy a celica turbo manifold and turbo and make a custom from pipe to match up with my stainless steel exhaust system. Then make a custom inlet manifold to except the turbo feed after making a custom intercooler radiator and pipe work. But i am struggling to work out how to tell the engine to increase fuel pressure when the turbo is spooling. I know that this probably sounds stupid, but can't afford a gt4 or expensive engine swops. Also i don't understand half the engines that you quote in the conversion guide. Are we saying a st202 3sge transmission will except a gen 5 turbo top end and just need wiring comversion and fuel adjustments or am i getting it wrong. I love in the UK and cannot find many people to talk to about the car everybody seems to love the explosive RS turbo Escorts and Cosworths where i live. I have already done some engine work including piper performance cams, doulbe valve springs and piper pulleys but i can beat the rs turbo's but struggle against the Cosworth Sapphires. Any help or guide would be great as i am still getting to grips the in in's and outs of the car thanks |

i own a gt celica and i am having difficulty sourcing parts for the car i.e a front strut brace and have a few ideas for the suspension and exhaust system on my car. What i was hoping was that a few people could take pictures of the underside of there car in the back area, especially people with gt4's as a few people that i know have been talking about converting there standard gt into rear wheel drive by utilising the rear diff, hubs and shafts from a gt4. I know that it won't be possible but i don't know anybody with a gt4 that would allow my to have a look under the car. Does anybody know if the gt4 front strut brace will fit my gt model as demon tweeks list a cusco one for the st202 but tried cusco direct and they don't list one? thanks if you can help |
