If you swap with the 3rd generation 3sgte will it include instructions or parts to make it AWD? Will it bolt to the 5sfe transmission? I am assuming if it does it would stay AWD so I would have to pay for a special transmission meant for AWD right? My intention isn't to race this car but use it as a daily driver in the winter and onto construction sites which is why I want the AWD. Is it a reliable daily driver or not so much and meant more for racing? I doubt I'll be modding it at all. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

There is a lower piece of plastic connected to my stock tube connecting my air box to my engine. The tube has a huge tear in the middle and I duct taped it so dirt wouldn't get sucked in like the Executor went into the Death Star 2 but the dealer charges 80 ****ing dollars for that one piece of plastic. I mean come ON! So the Auto Zone by my house has plastic and metal tubes for sale but they don't connect to the piece of plastic underneath my stock tube. What does that piece of plastic do and do I need it? Its underneath the tube connecting my air box to my engine.

I want to know if there's a company or site that makes and sells rear window louvers for my 95 Celica. I've looked all over the internet and only found louvers for older Celicas. Anybody know a place I can look?

My passenger window wouldn't go down, but it's fine now. So opposite of your problem, although mine fixed itself.

So did you have to ghetto-block the window with plastic while it wouldn't go up?

No I just drove it around always pimpin my music with my arm hanging out even in the rain. Lol. I found the problem I think. I ordered the Regulator which includes the cable and I already have the motor so hopefully my problem is solved. Funny thing is I thought I had to have all my windows working to pass inspection and I just barely found out I don't. I still have to fix my passenger side high beam headlight but thats gonna be fixed today.

Ok I have a major slice in the tube for my stock air intake and so I am thinking of replacing the whole thing. I have a K&N filter and I drilled a big hole in the bottom of the air box. But I went to ebay.com and saw a cold air intake included with a K&N filter that would fit the intake. I have heard rumors that they perform ****ty during rain or winter. Its 105.00. Do you guys think its worth it performance wise? Cost isn't too much to me as long as it would last a long time and perform well.

You shouldn't need to replace the cable - it can't really get "stripped". Unless it's completely frayed somehow, the cable should actually be fine.

Also, you don't need to remove anything other than the inside door panel to get the old motor out. Here's a thread where I've been converting my manual-crank windows to power windows. It contains lots of good pictures with some descriptions of how to remove the old motor. Use the service holes in the inside metal door panel to unbolt stuff. You'll need a 10mm socket and an extension.

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=59251&hl=

One important thing to know is that you will need to get the window down about a third or so of the way to unbolt the old rail from the glass. I'm not exactly how to do this if the motor isn't working at all though; perhaps someone here can elaborate on how to do this.

Yeah the cable is shredded like hell. Lol. I can not get the window up at all. What would you suggest about the cable problem? I personally think the motor still works.

So my window won't roll up. Its been like that since about December. I know huh. Lol. So my dad and I have taken a look at it. And he thinks its the cable thats been stripped. Either way I ordered the power motor and the cable was NOT included and so I'm gonna order that and replace the whole thing just to make sure the whole problem is solved for years to come.

The problem is getting to the motor and getting it out. It looks like a good 5 hour or so job. And we can't figure out if the white metal plate covering the interior even comes off or if we are supposed to just take off those bolts and pull the motor and window out through the holes in the plate. Has anybody ever done this before? I just need to know if we are able to take the plate off or not, how long a process, and where's a good place to buy the cable and how much? Autozone? Online? All that good stuff. Thanks.

Just curious. Has anyone succesfully tried twin turboing their celica? If so whats a site I could go to to get some information on it? I have the 5sfe 2.2 engine. Also I was told the MR2 turbo would fit on 2.2 liter celica's. I don't want to do any engine swap for the 3sgTe. I think my engine is just fine if I built it stronger.

OK so I've been told by person here and there that for a 95 Celica GT, if I put headers and a catback exhuast on it that it won't pass emmissions. Does anybody know whats up with that? My dad and I thought up the idea that we could bore out the stock headers also but somebody told me thats not a good idea cause the headers would be to thin for the heat and it would crack or something like that. If anybody has info on either of these questions let me know. Thanks. And happy new year everyone.

Ok we got everything it seems except the CV joint cup on the drivers side will not come out. We got the arm but the cup is still there and we can't get the trannie off without it. My dads friend is a mechanic and says its just supposed to pop out. We've tried lightly hammering it and prying it but we don't want to break it. We also tried hand pulling it. Any ideas?

Drive shaft not arm. Sorry about that. If the cup comes off will we be able to get the transaxle off without having to pull the suspension cross member?

Ok so me and mah pops have taken apart most of the car but we got some questions cause the repair manual is not being specific enough.
We're trying to replace the clutch cause the clutch went out.

Its a 95 GT. Did anybody have to remove the exaust and the arms on the passenger side? How much did you take apart on it?

keep the stock setup, make sure your bottom reservior was removed to gain the difference

Hey wnats the bottom reservoir? Me and my dad both drilled holes in our airboxes. He's got a 2006 corolla. I notice a difference. Is the bottom reservoir like the bottom of the box or somethign?

quick question, once u get done bleeding it how much does the slave cylinder psuh rod move, it u are getting full throw, and it still wont go into gear, you clutch is bad, trust me happened on mine, also does the pressure in the pedal drop?

Yeah my dad and I figured out the clutch is bad. Cause the fork thing is working fine and we replaced the slave cylinder and there is no leak in the master cylinder.

I've had this happen twice on two different cars. I'd put money on a need to change the clutch fluid. Check the fluid it's probably very murky, and It should be crystal clear. And you can also use dot 3 brake fluid,,,it's the exact same thing and it's cheaper. You just need to completely flush the old fluid and then bleed the clutch with new fluid. I'm sure there's a write up on here on how to do it. Actually, I don't see a write on here.
Best way is to get a vacuum bleed kit and have a friend push the clutch for you b/c you might need to drain the catch reservoir. I actually have a kit that I don't need if you want it, just pm me. I'm getting rid of all my spare tools and parts.

Well me and my dad bled it but I guess it wasn't a good bleed cause it ****ed up again. It was hella dirty when we bled it. But are you sure cause my dad thinks it might also be a problem with either the slave cylinder in the clutch or that thing that opens the clutch up. But that part isn't leaking or anything.

My car will bot go into any of the gears. A couple of days ago it started getting harder and harder to put in gear. I had to push it into gear. Now It refuses to go in gear. Is my transmission bad or my clutch or the slave cylinder in my clutch? Is it an easy or cheap fix?

I already bled the fluid and replaced it. It takes Dot 3 brake fluid. The old fluid was dirty. There's more info.

When I am rolling in neutral up to a stop sign I have to wait till I am moving like 2 miles an hour before I can put my car into 1st gear. Is that normal for a celica trannie and clutch or is this a problem?

you have to remember a couple if important difference between that 5th gen and our celicas are the 5th gen is an all trac with all wheel drive.

Our celica's do not have awd drive train, therefore we can not easily put a V8 rwd in our celica.

OH................ Thats some good info. Lol. Deaamn. I got some researchin to do. I guess its a 6 cylinder I'm going with. I know somebody said I'm not capable of doing this but my dad is gonna help me with it and I need to learn somehow. Thats another reason why I'm gonna do it.

I wouldn't say that a v8 will not fit in the engine bay, this 5th gen managed to do so, engine bays are similar in size: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C0veAb-CiM but i will have to say that it wont be easy. Good luck to you if you decide to do so though. smile.gif

Edit: and i just remembered at the recent chino hills meet there was a 1st gen with a tundra motor in it... engine bay may be a little bigger, but goes to show you anything is possible. ( and it was already rwd)

Dude.... This is the video that gave me the idea. I got this video on my favs. Lol.

One really important reason I wanna do this engine swap instead of buy a supra is because the car has sentimental value to me. No body is gonna expect a Celica to have a 6 cylinder with supercharge.

Yeah my dad built his jeep engine and he worked on his GTO when he was in high school so I'm pretty sure we'll be able to do it ourselves. He hella exaggerates **** though. He says its gonna be so tough getting it in and getting the car to run right. And tune it right.
